  1. will be very interested in where it is coming from. Just had a look at mine, there is a spot in the base of that switch where the oil may be seeping, it may just need a new gasket or sealant whatever they use to fix it.
  2. That leak does not appear to be coming from that switch, it looks more like someone didn't clean up properly after last oil change, notice the clean strip between the stain and the oil cap, it only takes a little oil left behind, and gets a bit of dust mixed in. just an observation.
  3. excelllent you got the result you were looking for. good luck at the drags. I wish i could get to ours but its over 2 hours away, maybe I will get time one day.
  4. Had mine come on again this morning just crossing over the bridge, later on I refuelled the car and after a couple of starts it disapeared, it has done this a few times recently, doesen't worry me because whatever upsets it comes good after a while. seems to do it once tank gets below halfway, may be a fault with tank pressure sensors. just another theory.
  5. Thanks for that, Im still working it out how to do that.
  6. Just checking did video work, Im new to this, could someone let me know please.
  7. Excellent work Daryl. i guess it would difficult to squeeze any more out of it, sounds wicked too. I have found that it goes a lot better in the cool air in the evenings, can be a little sluggy on takeoff especially if it has sat around and the intake gets hot from the engine, once you get going and better air cools it the better it performs.
  8. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7P2sZ8OG9o just a quick run in "D" now I can video I will do some more.
  9. the mods we have done are only the front Y pipe, theres no need to do anything with the rear one.
  10. THE AURION EXPRESS
  11. I thought I had enough technology in my cab. lol
  12. would be good if you post pics of what they did with your "y" pipe mod. if they did the same as m'kay and myself or something different.
  13. I've managed a flat 7 second 0-100km/h on a warm road. Obviously bot really the best indication of power though. 1/4 mile is where it's at. my nearest 1/4 mile track is 2.5 hours away, would love a run though. I've got the stock pipework for my exhaust. All that I've changed is the rear mufflers. This means I still have the 1.5 inch splits at the rear. Mine didn't dyno a low figure, so I wouldn't call that a restriction in your case. Anyways, without the dyno graph, it's just going to be a whole heap of guessing.
  14. no I haven't done a dyno run, not sure who does them here in hobart, but I might enquire. do you still have the stock intake, because that is where you might be losing the power (open exhaust but restictive intake) this may play with ECU settings. just a thought. as with thphotos, yes get them as a guide.
  15. Im at a loss too why he has lost power. after my "y"pipe mod and even with my still dodgy intake I have got more bottom end power and when I floor it, It goes like the preverbial, that feeling like it doesn't know what wheel to put the power on. not sure what a good standing start 0 to 100 time is but I did one 4.30 am coolish morning straight flat bit of highway and got 8.36 sec.
  16. WILDFIRE MAROON GOOD COLOUR WITH THE BLACK TRIM.
  17. I hope you are sucessfull with the merge idea,I really wanted to try using the pipes with a better merge, but im happy with the results just need to get some money for the K&N sri, still experimenting with the bits I have.
  18. when I modded my v6 camry I did replace the cat with a free flow one, It didn't make any noticeable difference. So this time when I modded the aurion I kept the old one on, as djkor says they are not that restrictive.
  19. [attachmen t=12050:sx6_mods_035.jpg]just a few pics of the mod, couldn't be bothered painting it. hope to get video this weekend.
  20. fuel quality has been an issue here before. due to the high price of 98 here $1.50 ltr it might not be as good quality due to slower sales, not sure of petrol life in the underground tanks. there would no doubt be octane sensors for the EMS maybe these are the cause.
  21. yeah thats the noise I get, like staight cut gears, oh well if it sounds a bit like a turbo and is not annoying its all good ? thats a good price thanks for that might have to trawl through bank acc, lol
  22. it seems lik the aurion system doesn't like a change in fuel. put 91 in on tues (been running on 95 lately) wed put in 98, 20 mins later the bells and whistles start again. after trying several "factory resets" it would go for half hour and ding up it comes again. I then filled up on 95 and after one more reset it has not appeared again. so one cant cancel the fuel as a cause, even though I did.
  23. Thanks mate. I think as well if any car needs this the most, it would be the TRD <points to you Ash and Dave>. As for this thread, I guess you can now add me to the list: great work daryl, where did you get the intake from and how much ? I haven't found one in aus only in the us. on the noise, I get a whiring noise too, it maybe the power steering or airconditioning pump or just noise from the trans that may have been insulated by the airbox, havent't worried about it myself.
  24. Sorry. The first set of photos you posted looks like it's solid right after the merge. Anyways, I'm still going to stick with my desire to get the pipes formed in a similar shape to the stock ones. I had a look under my car again and noticed there is a bit of room to play with if they have the skill. my fault taking phone photos under the car, should have done it up on hoist. with the second sensor they just oxyed a hole welded in the adaptor and screwed it in. Its due for a service friday so I will get better pics then. might paint it first, forgot to do that last week.
  25. Good point. I'm trying to measure it all up (waiting for the car to cool first) because it does seem like it's going to be an issue if I plan to keep the 3rd cat there. It seems hard enough to keep the exhaust flex there as it is. You can see above that scootastaxisx6 seems to have had the flex removed. I really want the equal length setup because that damn O2 sensor. I won't settle for it on the same bank. If I can't come to a solution I'm satisfied with, I'm just going to drop the idea. as you can see I have the pipes to a collector, then the flex, then the cat. at the moment when you give it some stick it sounds a bit like a porsche 911.
