  1. lol yeah no faith! Intake dosent hold any pressure it just is a means of pulling filtered air into the turbo. It WONT however be sufficient to do INTERCOOLER piping lol Karl.
  2. I would check the engine mounts first, btw is it auto or manual? Giving it quick sharp revs from a stand still while your in the engine bay can usually depict worn engine mounts (just turn the throttle lever), and as such can only feel it when driving as it isnt that bad when stationary and so at that particular revs it is worst due to the way engines work and the engine also doing that certain speed. Karl.
  3. Im sorry I gotta get something straight. You were given one of these??? What number is yours? I have the same Sportivo turbo model, and id definitely reccommend the upgrade of the turbo and manifold (as ive done this and is a massive upgrade!), changing the restrictive exhaust, getting rid of the stupidly long intake pipe and a Boost controller set to 10psi or less :) Theres really no bolt on mods for this car, if you want to upgrade it will have to be custom work. Unless you open it all up and put in stronger rods and pistons and running a larger turbo and more boost :P Post pics im intrigued to see yours :) Karl. EDIT: They run an IHI RHF4 Turbo one of the smallest that they make.
  4. FYI Toyota only made 110 of these specific model, they didnt scrap the line, just ceased all production of the 112 :) Anyway, wheres this vid :P
  5. HAHA! will be good to hear what it sounds like with the stocko turbo rather than mine lol Karl. P.S Hurry up and film :P:
  6. Yeah you could say ive had issues, ive cracked the standard manifold and blew the standard turbo, there was an issue for the previous owner who had the ECU replaced at a cost of the dealer he bought it from for $5000 they were originally quoted over $15000! But otherwise those few mods you have mentioned will open up the car alot, just replace the cat for a high flow one while you are at the exhaust as they can be rather restrictive. There a few differences to the Sportivo and the levin. The clutch is expensive, dont look at buying a gasket for the turbo to manifold i found this out the hard way $183 for a triangular 10cm multilayer metal gasket lol. (Shhhh get it from Subaru :P) the engine is expensive the turbo is expensive, suspension is expensive and brakes arent too bad lol the list does go on. Honestly its rly not as bad as i make it out to be just buy the extra parts aftermarket and stronger :P Karl.
  7. :o AWESOME one more Turbo Sportivo about the Place, Im in SA myself and me and a friend have on (one each) and love them. Cars in great condition, gotta ask tho... have you had many issues with it? Also out of interest how many Kms has it done? Good to see these cars are going to owners who are car enthusiasts who will look after them because these realyare underrated cars. I have a Members Thread on Rollaclub if you want to have a look theres also Soulsearchers on there :) heres a link Soulsearcher's Turbo Corolla Karllos' Turbo Corolla Edit: Just noticed a similarity between the Rexy and Soulsearchers cars :P
