  1. Hi guys, tried to search for similar posts but failed. I have a 2008 Levin ZR. the clutch just seems ridiculously heavy to push in. it just seems too tight and mushy.. like I'm trying force my way down? I have pretty strong legs from football and even then i think this is way to much for a clutch and i can see why some people who have driven it have stalled it and made jokes about doing weights before they can manage that clutch. since then it has been playing on my mind and i am really using a bit of force to use it. it bounces back pretty quick.. but it really doesn't feel right. is there something i can check? i don't know if the levins are known for having such a heavy clutch. i am the second owner and am unsure if the clutch has been replaced.
  2. Hi GUys, i tried searching this topic but couldnt find anything. i have a levin zr... the head unit answers calls automatically after about 3 rings, i dont have to accept the call for it to answer automatically and its kinda annoying. sometimes i dont want to talk to whomever is calling me.. and unless i hang up on them, i cant let it ring out. is there any way to fix this? btw i dont have any manuals with the car.. so im not sure if this is answered in those
  3. Hey Guys, i recently purchased a levin zr, but i don't have the owners manual with it. I've noticed that my cigarette lighter doesn't charge when i have my phone charger in guessing it is just a fuse, thing is i can't tell where the cig fuse goes.. i looked under the fuse box and usually id see CIG clearly labelled.. but i don't. anyone put it out for me please?
  4. Gt hyper is quite close by. So it's gonna cost about 300..I dunno why but I was expecting it to be alot more I thought eibach springs were cOnsiderably more expensive
  5. Hi Guys, my sportivo was written off during the hail storms over xmas and i now have a 2008 levin ZR as a replacement. it looks like Eibach springs come highly recommended here. is there anywhere in Melbourne you recommend to get them done and approx cost ?
  6. Thanks for the quick feedback looks like after a bit of surfing gettin kybs and king springs will give me change out of $1k which is what I wanted
  7. Im in the market for new shocks, and i stumbled across these on ebay. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/KYB-SHOCK-ABSORBERS-334376-7-TOYOTA-COROLLA-ZZE123-1-8L-Sportivo-/150728297452?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item23181b4bec#ht_1886wt_1047 are they real? i was under the impression that they would or should cost a lot more than this
  8. I was driving down High Street Ashburton yesterday morning and saw a nice black sportivo with White Advanti Rims, 5 spoke, and twin Dumpy Tip exhausts. I was in a black sportivo too. anyone seen this car, i liked the way the car sat , looking to do my suspension and if anyone knows this cars setup, id love to know. one of the cleanest sportivos ive seen, i think it had a different grille at the front too?
  9. Hi Guys well after a few weeks of this creaking then ticking noise coming from the rear of my car I had enough and at the lights saw a MIDAS and drove the car straight in I took the guy for a ride in my car, he put it up on the hoist and diagnosed the issue as my rear wheel bearings. he said its pretty dangerous to keep driving as they are. my right ones pretty bad and the left one isnt making as much noise but is on the way out. anyway 900 to fit and replace both sides. does that sound right? is it as dangerous as he was making it out to be? its a 03 sportivo. obviously thrashed by previous owner im just hoping this will be the end of the creaking noise and i can get on with driving this car without worrying.
  10. :o Oh my! Even my Mum and Sister who barely know a thing about a car at least know about the radiator. I think you should step away from you car until you at least do some learning: HowStuffWorks "How Car Cooling Systems Work" ok haha i think i have made out to the biggest lamo there.. its (NOT) empty, it was to read. im quite aware if it was empty where my problem would have been. however i just drove it round the block and the engine sign came on, but came off again. i used contact cleaner for the MAF sensor, i literally soaked it in it. could i have damaged it ?
  11. Oh dear... this seems to be pointing in one direction. Let your car cool down (just in case), and then open your radiator cap and see if it is empty. If it is not, there could possibly be a blockage somewhere in the line. ok checked that, its empty, is that a good sign. i just switched the car on and it seems to be ok now. ive booked it in for a service next week. ive had nothing but issues since i bought this car about 3 months ago. hopefully everything will get sorted out next week but what a headache.
  12. I cleaned the MAF sensor and looks like the light isnt coming back on.. for now. however, the car is over heating. the temp gauge is now going all the way to the top. my heating isnt working properly if thats any help, even at max heat it still blows cold air.
  13. I was driving home today when i noticed the engine light come on on the dash. i was near home so i thought im sure ill make it home before anything happens. while driving i noticed that there was lag when i stepped on the accelerator. like i was revving out but i wasnt accelerating as fast as i should be when i was stopped at the lights i was idling strange. like the engine was choking. i managed to turn the final corner to my house and my engine just switched off. i luckily rolled the 100 remaining meters to my drive way. any idea what this could be. its a 2003 sportivo. it has a CAI and thats really it in terms of engine mods. could it be an electrical problem? spark plugs? i have left the car for a couple hours and just turned it on and the light doesnt appear anymore but i need to get this checked out. im abit worried that this could happen whilst in traffic
  14. I haven't done any electrical work and yes the dome light works I've checked both fuse locations. I don't see a dimmer knob for this car anywhere I don't think it has one. Really confused I canusually fix such minor issues. How would I check if I have a shirt circuit? The thing is I havnt had this car long. So I never checked these things when I bought i just assumed these lights workd as I only ever checked it during the day
  15. Hi Guys I have a Corolla Sportivo 03 model. My speedometer and rev counter light up when i turn the car on straight away, but all the control lights, ie the AC/heating dont have the backlight working, so when i drive at night i cant see what button is what. the green clock lights up but everything underneath doesnt. i have checked all the fuses and cant see any that are burnt out any ideas
  16. Silvabulit you look like the go to man here. What should I expect performance wise with the kybs. I'm really just looking for a more comfortable ride. Will the kybs suit the lowered springs. or will they wear out like the standard shocks. I've also noticed a creaking noise coming from the rears is this due to my suspension wearing out. Getting a bit paranoid with this. Seems to only happen sometimes will moving real slowly. I sprayed a bunch of wd40 around there seemed to temporarily fix the noise problem. I've just assumedits time for new suspension setup.
  17. I bought a 2003 sportivo it's been lowered on king springs and has standard shocks. The ride is horrible so bouncy and you feel everything. What is recommended for this setup I would like the same height just a more comfortable ride any recommendations would be appreciated
