  1. Got my new key in the mail and have had it cut, it catches a little bit in the lock barrel at the moment but it will free up as the edges get smoother. Does anyone know if there are instructions on how to get the ECU to recognise the new key or am I going to have to take the car to get progammed by toyota/locksmith? I have done a forum search but cannot seem to find it. Thanks in advance
  2. I recieved my remote today and programed it and it works a treat!! $340 from Toyota...bah! Once I have my new key I'll be a happy camper
  3. Depends on how long the car was on the yard before you got it as to how much crap will be on the paint...run your hand over the paint when it is clean and cool and you will feel if there are any deposits in the paint. KG
  4. Knowing my bosses it was probably requested with steel wheels & hubcaps just to spite me... <_< I tried to get an SX6 quoting a much better residual on the lease but the extra $33 p/m on the lease was too much!!! Maybe math was different when I was at school or is $3000 less than $33 x 36!!
  5. Sorted out the BT audio. All good now. Got the car at home for the week and I have just given it it's first bath... I have a proper Aurion stable at home at the moment!!
  6. I had only 1 master & 1 valet key...so I have safely secured the master and am using the valet key. I am currently sorting a replacement master blank from the US of A for a (very considerable) price cheaper than from Toyota Aust. Will let the forum know how it works out!
  7. So you're the b4$tard who outbid me on that one!! Oh well , I won one last night for the same price so it is great to know that it will work with no problems! KG
  8. A black toyota badge on it would look awesome! Screw conformity, if you like it, it should be all that matters. Having the sports grill on my car has made more that one person do a double take to see what car it is. Individuality is a subtle thing that allows you to express yourself! Silver mesh on black +1 KG
  9. I clayed my aurion on the weekend and apart from not being able to move my right shoulder properly it looks awesome... Need to buy some good liquid wax as the pasty stuff I have doesn't cut it, have to justify another car detailing purchase to myself?
  10. Steam is good... but the chemicals smell better When I bought my car there was a stain on the driver's seat (spilt coffee, meatpie...who knows?) The salesman, honest and trustworthy soul, like all car/realestate salespeople, told me that the detailers at the yard tried everything to remove it with no luck. I got it home and tried some 5 Star interior cleaner from Crazy Clarks, The Warehouse or wherever, and to my utter lack of amazement, it came right out with a little spray and some rubbing with a microfibre towel!!! I bought this amazing product called seatcovers that will prevent me from a repeat of the stain (it is my constitutional right to drink coffee and eat pies in my car while I am driving!) The covers are great as they have the same mesh appearance as the original seats as well as being side airbag compliant. The covers I had in my Camry kept the seat in original condition that I was amazed when I took them off to sell the car. Scotchguard would probably be good if you have any of those small dirt and stain creating creatures that people often have in the back of their cars :P
  11. Age: 37 (Damn!!) Sex: Meat & 2 veg Status: Happy Why?: Had an '03 Camry Sportivo V6 and loved to drive it. I was looking to upgrade it when I hit 100K in '07 and looked at the new Camrys but the 4 cyl was pustulent! Saw the Aurion and loved the shape and the POWER!!! Work got me side tracked from buying a new car until last month when I drove to Brisbane with the object of finding one and did. The drive back was awesome and justifies the trip, I am so glad that I bought it (No speeding tickets :D ). I would like to buy another one that is out of warranty to put all the toys on...strut brace; rear sway bar; coilovers; 19" rims. Will have to wait I suppose :( Most of the cop cars up here are Aurion Sportivos so I might end up buying a cheap white one from a police auction and doing it up just to flaunt it in front of them! :P

  13. I painted my bonnet protector on my Daihatsu Charade body colour when I got the car in 1995 and it still looks perfect today, can't say the same about the rest of the duco though <_<. I will definately do it for the new car as I agree that bonnet chips look crappy and are easily avoidable by using a fairly cheap piece of plastic!
  14. It looks great, can you direct me to the thread that describes the debadging, I thought the rear had some pins in it?
  15. Sorry, only 'phone cam' pics at this stage, will try to get a photo in the "official pose" as per the start of the thread... On another note, how many of these style grills would there be in Australia? I have yet to see another one in my FNQ town!
