  1. I tried that, Toyota Head Office rekon there's no record of any keys with transponder to match engine numbers. and the local dealer quoted me $1800 to replace the ECU, ignition Barrel, and Transponder!! So i think i'm just gonna have to claim it on insurance. I've contacted multiple Auto Elecs and apparantly it cannot be bypassed. Its programmed into the ECU so i'd have to change the ECU and the transponder as well, so i'm just gonna let the insurance company deal with it! Thanks for your help though!
  2. Hello all! I know this is a recurring post from the Echo/Yaris forum, but so far its had 44 views, and no replies, and i'm getting really desperate, needing to get to work. so please can anyone help with the following problem?! Recently i lost the only key i had for my 2000 Echo. I have a spare cut, but that only gets into the car, it won't start with the cut key. When i try starting the car, it turns but doesn't start. The security light flashes the whole time. So i deduced there must be some sort of transponder in the key that i lost, and now cannot start my car. Is there any way i can bypass the security setting? Toyota say its gonna cost $900 for a new computer and transponder key. I don't have that kind of money!! So any ideas on how i can get my car driving again? Any help is muchly appreciated! Yoz!

  4. Hi there, the genius that i got the car off, decided to cut a rectangular section out of the bonnet to place a hood scoop on top, and in doing so, he cut out the section that had a supporting bar running across it, so if i was to be picked up by the cops, i'd get a canary! so looking for a 2000 Echo 3 door hatchback bonnet, any colour will do, i'm gonna do a respray anyway! Any help in Perth, WA will be helpful! Cheers!
  5. Hey Guys, Got rid of the Aurion, and i have some parts that i didn't get a chance to install/play with so i'm putting them up for sale. 1st item is a pair of rear bumper Brake and Park lights that fit above the exhausts. i got these in and didn't get a chance to fit them before i traded in. Can't even remember how much i paid for them so these are going at $30 for the pair + postage. 2nd item is the centre console piece below the stereo, i was gonna use this to experiment with different paint schemes, but didn't get around to it, so item is still as good as new! this item for $20 plus postage, i think thats how much i paid for it! any enquiries please let me know! Cheers! Yoz. ps i'm in Perth WA if that helps!
  6. haha, its not what you know... but the guys at Lane Ford were very helpful, this one wasn't 40ish grand, it was closer to 60, but i had extra savings that got the repayments down, so i was happy!!
  7. So i got sick and tired of going places and looking for someone to put a turbo on the Aurion. I had $10000 to spend, and no-one wanted to touch it because of a few simple reasons.. 1. They said one of the biggest issues i'd face was the ECU. I know a mob in Wangara who do the Vipec V88 chip, but this alone costs about $5000 incl tuning. 2. The next problem i would have was the transmission. Basically it is not designed to withstand 350kw or more that i'd maybe get out of the turbo application. 3. The entire internals of the engine would have to be replaced, rods, rings, shafts etc and i was willing to accept it for now, and maybe work my way up and upgrade slowly, hopefully turning this into a little project car. but the amount of changes i'd be making, it would be crazy, and would cost so much in not only time, but money. i could just see the dollars being poured out of my bank account and a lot of time invested without a vehicle while i worked on the kinks just to get another 300HP or so...maybe??? so instead i opted for this... 2010 FPV F6 now i realise that this is an Aurion forum, and i was very sad to see the old girl go, but she just wasn't fulfilling my speed needs! and i also am aware that there might not be too many Ford fans out there, but once i drove this bad boy, i knew i had to have it! the amazing pull you get from the turbo and in-line 6 is just phenomenal. never before have i experienced something like this before. i honestly can't explain it, but i am really happy with this car. and the $10000 i had to spend, i used to get into this machine. so it is with great displeasure that i will say goodbye to the Toyota forums for now, you guys have been a lot of help in finding lots of little things, HID's, CAI and the like, to make my ride just that little bit better! Good luck with all your up and coming mods, i'm sure i'll see some hotted up Aurions out there on the streets of Perth, and i'll nostalgically look back on my time with the Aurion. Farewell! Yoz!
  8. yeh man, i got the EXACT same rattle, its so annoying! its only once in a while though, and no doubt, as soon as i take it into toyota, it won't happen! i always thought that it was the guys who installed the new speakers in the tweeter spot that may have mucked up the install, but i don't think it was, cause i checked that they're in nice and tight, but the noise is still there. if you have any head-way on this issue, it'll be great to find out how you rectify this!
  9. That did occur to me when they set it up, and the reason i didn't ask is cause they only did 2 runs on it, both of which were very similar, so i was happy and so were they, so we left it at that. had there been more runs, then i def would have asked them to put a fan there, cause i know how much this thing can heat up quite quickly. on a side note, last night at the drag strip, i managed to run a 14.5 quarter mile time, at +/- 152 or 153kmph so imo the exhaust and CAI did make quite a bit of difference. i know DJKOR ran a 14.1 but it was quite a warm night here in perth, so i dunno if that had anything to do with it? but all in all, i'm happy with the results, and bragging right are mine with my mates for the time being, till one of them gets a quicker one and beats me. there were quite a few comments after i ran the 14.5, a lot of people were surprised to see an Aurion on the drag strip, let alone see it run 14.5secs! i'll load the timeslip when i get home later tonight just for verification!
  10. ok, so this is my first attempt at posting a video clip, lemme know if it doesn't work! Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!
  11. i hear what you're saying, and i questioned them about the accuracy of the results, cause they did seem a bit high to me. but they assured me that their dyno is very well calibrated, and regularly has the team from WA DRAG RACING club come down to do their cars during the summer, so its very reliable. they are one of the best mobs here in perth, and i know they aren't out to try and trick anyone and give dicky results. but thanks for that djkor, i guess the real results will be tomorrow night!
  12. trying to upload the video, man that CAI sure does roar!!
  13. Ok so here's the dyno run from today, AFTER the exhaust and CAI installation. To be pretty honest, i was rather surprised at the result, 231HP @ 5600RPM is pretty good IMO for a naturally aspirated V6! Tomorrow....the quarter mile....
