  1. Thanks for the thoughts Legend. Over the past three years since buying my Estima I have replaced the front SAD coupling three times. The first two were aluminium body disc couplings from Alljap Auto Spares (Virginia in Brisbane) at $250 a pair, then just recently a synthetic (polyurethene?) body disc at $160 for one. I hope to get more life out of this later one. The rear SAD coulping that came with the van is still working - it has the poly body disc. Thanks for the thoughts Legend.

    Toyota wheels

I cracked a mag low profile wheel on my Toyota Estima. Any one know of any second hand wheels to suit in SE Queensland?
  3. Had to replace my Estima 3CT engine with a 3CTE. So I had to use the old diesel pump. So the new 3CTE diesel fuel pump is available - anyone interested?
  4. I have just finished replacing the coupling on the forward end of the SAD shaft. Some reports stated that the SAD shaft needed to be completely removed from the car to do this job. I found it can be done by just removing the coupling on the rearward end of the SAD shaft, to allow the shaft to be moved rearwards so the forward coupling can be slid forward off the SAD shaft. Not a major job. Needs 12 and 13mm sockets with extensions, and a 12mm ring spanner. I used ramps under the front wheels to get working space under the car. NB!! Make sure to mark (with a white out pen?) the location of the SAD shaft relative to the harmonic balancer at the engine end, so you can re assemble it correctly, or you will have shaft balance problems and MAJOR vibrations. Maybe also mark the auxiliary equipment pulley relative to the SAD shaft. not sure about this, but better safe than sorry. I have found the forward coupling wears out every couple of years or so, much more quickly than the rearward coupling. Some say it's a design fault. My old coupling had an aluminium disc body, and I replaced it with a coupling with poly disc body (supplied by Poly Flex Marine (07) 3284 2799), hopefully with a longer life. Any other ideas on these issues?
  5. g day matey and welcome to the forum ebay uk and ebay newzealand are your best friends. their are dismantled buses all over oz its just the matter of keeping your eyes open certain tarargo parts interchange, ie shocks, stuts, disc rotors specify diamater 3 different size rotors. happy motoring I have been able to get some parts for my 1992 Estima from Japanese import Specialists in Brisbane - you will have them in NSW also. I cooked the engine, cracked the head - had to have another engine put in. You need to watch the temperature, they overheat very easily. I am needing a passenger side exterior mirror, and external door handle. Let me know if you come across a supplier. I hope to keep my Estima going, it's a very comfortable, just need to source parts. All the best with your Estima Enima - happy motoring.

  7. This is my first post, so let me know if I have transgressed any club rules .... I have a 1992 Estima van, with a crack in a low profile mag wheel. It's leaking air, so I need to replace it. Don't want to weld it - I don't fancy a disintegrating wheel at 100kph. The tyres presently fitted are 235/45R17. Anyone know how I would specify the wheel I need? With regards wheel style, I could get two of a different style to the existing ones, so at least I would have matching wheels on each side. Or I could sell the three good mags I have and buy four standard steel rims. Anyone have any wheels that might be of use to me, or any ideas about a supplier? I'm in SE Queensland.
  8. Just replaced the SAD coupling on my Estima - very pleased with myself. I now need wheels for my Estima

  9. I believe I have exhaust gas leaking into engine coolant. I can see wisps of smoke coming out of the coolant reservoir, when I take off the radiator filler cap. The problem started when I overheated the engine, running it 8km without water. :o I need to have someone take off the cylinder head, and get a look at the condition of the bore, to see how much damage is done. Can anyone advise me if the engine will need to be removed for this inspection?
