  1. So, the wreckers are nice and trying to charge me $100 for a grille.. I was parked out the front of Newcastle Uni a few weeks back and someone cracked mine off and bailed with it. Now i'm stuck with this ugly empty space in the front of my car! If anyone has a spare one laying around let me know how much and how much for postage and i'll get back to you. Much appreciated :) Any colour will do, I know some of them have the cars colour on the top as a bit of a lip, i'll happily paint over it. Just need a starting point! Was going to buy some mesh but it looked too cheap. Thanks! Andrew.
  2. How much do you reckon I should spend on a decent head unit? I'm trying not to go over $400 honestly, but I want a DVD touchscreen but i mean if theres no decent ones out there for that price i'm sure i can do with a simple head unit. I can always upgrade again later :D
  3. Hey guys. Just me again. Was wondering... do I have to have a newish type '00 up style to roll a 2DIN DvD player in my dash of my car? Or would it be okay to install a 2DIN in my 1989 Camry? As in, is it compatable? I was thinking about putting this in my car but i want to know whether it's possible or not to put it in. http://www.eonon.com/2-Din-DVD-Player/E1012.html If not, would this be suitable for the car? http://www.eonon.com/One-Din-Monitor-built-in-DVD/E1015.html Given these options... does anyone have an idea how much it would cost a car sound place to install each of these? Thanks.
  4. Its each to their own. Any car is good in someone or another's eyes. Except the smart car. If anyone actually agrees that the smart car (except for the one with the turbo hayabusa engine which is STILL an ugly piece of crap) is actually attractive then GTFO. But seriously. Commodores and Falcons appeal to kids for the one big reason that they are big, beefy cars and the big V8 supercar men drive them around tracks really really fast and they can do the same thing around the streets. Camry's may not have the same power (hence being a FWD) but they're still neat, reliable cars to drive, and my honest opinion, I think my Camry looks good. New shoes and a polish and it'll look better of course but like I said, each to their own.
  5. Hey guys. Before I start, feel free to go all technical because I do understand how to install sound systems in cars. So I realised, with my Camry SV21 DLX it came with an equalizer on the head unit. Now, without the equalizer, the head unit will not power. And when i put in my new headunit (Well...... Temporary Sony XPLOD head unit until I can afford a complete system) I cant power the head unit because the equalizer is not plugged in through this big ***** circle cable. It's a P.O.S to work out and i've ended up putting my stock head unit in again with an iPod attachment for the tuner to get me by. But this is getting annoying and I want a better head unit for the time being. It also looks cooler =D So, any ideas would be greatly appreciated of how to fix this problem because I dont understand what to do with this cable seeing as it powers the head unit. Thanks. PS. Install Dr. did not help. It didn't show the equalizer on any of their PDF files so I have no idea what to do.
  6. Hey. My 89 Camry's front Driver window wont go up or down. Power windows. All other windows work fine, sunroof works too. Wondering if anyone has a diagram on the door to see the motor and such or if anyone has a thought on if theres anything else that could be stopping it from working other then the motor. Switch block is completely fine no issues.
  7. Oh and Kichy. Just quoting the "2004 Toyota Echo 1.3L Manual Transmission Modifications: E-tag 2 Stickers Future Modifications: Convert to Twin Turbo Supra LOL" Twin Turbo Supra motor in an Echo would be excellent :D
  8. Yes! Go the Jets! Haha. Yes, 18 with my 3rd car is pretty exciting, but I've loved cars all my life. I am hoping to upgrade to a supra in the near future but the camry will be a work in progress for sure, being such a great car. I haven't been on recently because I crashed it and bent the 'Torsion Bar' I think they call it. But its fixed and back on the road. Here's a photo for you guys to see what you think of it. I'll post some more later. The first one is my old 1988 Honda Accord which is now most likely a cube of metal. And the other is my 1989 Camry.
  9. Hey guys. My name is Andrew. I just bought a 1989 Camry DLX. Pretty stoked with power windows, power steering, electric sunroof, A1 Mechanics and all nifty extras for only $1000, including 6 mnths rego. I'm pretty sure I got a bargain. =D This is my 3rd car now. My first car was a 1991 Hyundai Excel. Not too long ago, I drove my 1988 Honda Accord to the ground. The heads were blown, the carbie was filled with crap and the motor was pretty close to seizing so I sold it for $150. I'm 18 and decided it might be a plan to join the forums and chat with you guys about different things everyone does to their toyotas and show you guys some progress with what i'm planning to do to my Camry in the future. Hope to chat to you all soon =] Andrew.
