  1. Hi all, Again a quick update, Grabbing a multimeter electrical testing thingy it seems its the long blue fusible links. Going to go grab some today, Thanks for your contributions.
  2. Hi Guys, Thanks for the feedback, I've got a few questions though. How do I remove those fusible links to check them cause it seems they don't just pull out? How does the transfer of power actually work in the Aurion? E.g Battery-Alterator-Accessories? What is there under the hood that would cause the accessory power to not work from what I have done? Even if the alternator has some issues shouldn't the windows, radio etc be powered solely by the battery? This is driving me up the wall. Thanks for any input or advice.
  3. Hello again all and thanks to anyone who has viewed. Just a quick update, After working on the car after work today I have found that the car can infact be manually started by holding in the start/stop button for around 20 seconds. However after the car starts there is still no power to the windows, radio, aircon, accessories etc. The gear shifter also wont unlock as it stays in the locked position. You have to hold down the shift lock button to change gears. So this can mostly likely rule out the immoboliser and alternator am I right? Anyone with some information would be really helpful. Thanks
  4. Hi All, Let me quickly explain the current situation in point form and hopefully a few people can shed some light on the situation regarding my 2007 ZR6 Aurion. Noticed loud sqeaking noise coming from belt area and the alternator pulley was found to be the cause. Got replacment pulley, disconnected the altenator from the car and installed the new pulley onto it. The car was left for a few days with the battery disconnected and then was put back together. Now the car will not turn on.This is what I am finding strange after putting everything back together: There is no power to the electric seats, the radio, the windows etc. But there is power to the lights, internal and external, and the door locks work. The start/stop button isnt turning green at all for startup. Yet the car still recognises the key as the key buttons are working and the touch door handles are still unlocking the car when touched. The start/stop does show an orange colour when pressed and you can assess the speedo display etc. The Outside Temp show E for some reason.I checked everything, all the cables are in correctly, all the fuses have been checked besides the long blues one as im not sure how to get them out of the fuse box. Does anyone know what it sounds like at all: Immoboliser, bad alternator etc. Any assistance would be really helpful, please ask any questions needed. Thanks
  5. Hi all, I purchased one of those headunits off ebay and installed it about 6 months ago but starting about 1 week ago it started to make a strange sound when you turn it on the first time of the day. Its like a grinding sound and lasts for about 10 secs. So it is because its cold? becuase its headunit is heating up? or is mine defected? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks
  6. So then is it worth talking to Toyota about do you think? By the way I havnt been on the forums in ages and I just went over the whole situation that happened to you Daryl. Tough break about the SX6, I would be devastated if it was my Aurion. Im glad something good came out of it (TRD).
  7. Ok, Now I just want to check but is everyone else getting that strong (eggy) petrol smell when they put their foot down in their Aurion. Also if not then why am I getting it?
  8. Sorry to hear you got done buddy. Unfortunately there isn't much you can do other then argue the fine. But if it went to court i believe they would win due to the evidence they have in there possession. So it looks like you will have to pay the fine. If you dont end up having to pay the fine, please let us know how you got out of it. Thanks
  9. Hi all So anyway, today I just got my car back from its 60000km service and I thought I might post the results. Now I told them a few problems that I wanted them to look into like the flaring, the oil hose and personally I felt there was a slight jolt/clunk when turning, accelerating or decelerating so I told them about this also. (maybe its just normal, but I'm sensitive when it comes to hearing and feeling things in the car). Ok so these are the results.... 1st Lander Toyota wanted $500+ for this service but I got them to match Terry Shields Toyota price of $337. (Pesking Things) 2nd The recall VVTI oil replacement hose was not done yet so they replaced this for me. This is covered under warranty. 3rd For the auto flaring between gears 2-3 (I was actually having this issue, happened about once or twice since I got the car). They are replacing the computer and giving me a new one. This is covered under warranty 4th As for the noise in the slight jolt/clunk noise I explained to them. They checked and adjusted it and they say its all ok. They also said that it may have something to do with the computer (Bull Crap I think). What ever they did its covered by warranty. 5th They didnt even bother to record this service in the service book of the car (LAZY). 6th I also had to get the passenger sun visor repaired because I accidentally snapped it off. This was not covered under warranty, even though I told them it just snapped off when my girlfriend flipped it down. So this set me back a whole $15. (I know only $15) So that's all for now, when they get the parts in they will give me a buzz to get them fitted. Besides that the service was friendly and they changed the fluids. They also go over and check everything (although thats what they say and thats what it states on the invoice, they may not do jack !@#$)

  11. Howdy Well just just from looking at other websites and other magazines (like Wheels etc). You should be able to pull it off but just barley. Alot of them state that the Aurion actually beats the XR6. These differences are only about .1 or .2 of a second, but the Aurion comes out on top. Although he has more torque and at lower revs, the Aurion seems to really push its way through. Anyways if you both do it I would love to see how you did. Also make sure you get a video to post up ok. Good Luck KoolMoeDee (KMD)
  12. Thanks Guys I will be testing these points out ASAP (as soon as I get a day off). I spoke to lander Toyota and they said that if anything is wrong with it, it still gets fixed due to the warranty which is sweet. For anyone that wanted to know I paid $22000 for the sexy ZR6 Aurion, no damage or anything beside a couple of very small scratches on the front bumper. Its even got a fire extinguisher in the back :) KoolMoeDee (KMD)
  13. Well Gents do you want to know what I think..... Of course the Aurion would be improved with a digital speedometer. I had a Toyota Soarer for the past 3 years and they are all digital (SEE PICTURE). I just bought the Aurion and thought it to be a little disappointing when pretty much all the other cars (bommadore and Bord) have the digital and to Aurion does not :( But im not really kicking up a stink cause it doesnt bother me that much. I was just used to the digital readout. Although its does come in handy if you want to keep the speed on a precise level for those police and cameras. Dont worry about DJKOR, I tihnk he is having his period :) KoolMoeDee (KMD)
  14. Hi all I have just joined the Aurion sensation as I purchased one of these babies on Tuesday through one of the government auctions (Got the Silver Ash ZR6). It was previously owned by NSW police and I must say I love the damn car. Out of the Commodore VE, Ford Falcon, Mitsubishi 380 and the Toyota Aurion I weighed up the features and engine and I must say I chose the Aurion from the lot. I previously had a Toyota Soarer which I love but I had to upgrade and the Aurion is a really great car. Only yesterday I purchased a new head unit from Ebay from autome305 which should come next week sometime and I'm sure I will find DJKORs TUT useful for this so hopefully this all installs to perfection. Anyway I got as couple of quick questions for all of you. 1. Is the Gear plate next to the auto transmission gear stick suppose to light up in the middle console (You know the letters P, R, D etc)? 2. Seeing as I got it from the auction, the Toyota Aurions have a 36 month (3 Year) Warranty on them. Now the car still has 6 months of this warranty left so is it worth checking out some things that can be fixed by Toyota at no extra charge to me? Thanks Guys and Girls KMD (KoolMoeDee)
