  1. I regulary drive the father in laws diesel 5 sp hilux (about 5 mnths old) and do not have an issue with it at all. He is running everything you expect for a farm/bush type vehicle (inc. tyres, susp mods etc.) and the ride is still very comfy. I believe he is still getting around 12km/L on the road. Does seem a little easier to slide on the corners compared to my 97 model but reckon thats cause the motor is so quiet (even at 170KM/Hr) and you gotta watch the speedo pretty intensly. My only advice is make sure it does have cruise because you will need it ! ! ! ! !

    Toyota Hilux

G'day peoples, Time for another resurrection in this hilux forum. I am new to this site and I just recently got a 97 hilux 3L diesel dual cab. T'was stock except from bullbar/towbar/uhf/spotties/etc. 1st stage of stereo system has been finished(for now) next stage is to get a slight bit more under the bonnet. As I am on a bit tight on coin I want to get power(mainly keeping revs on hills, dunes, etc) on a budget. Heard about hi-clones but also want to speak to anyone who has installed them and if they were worth the money. If anyone has any other suggestions I would like to here them. Cheers, Chad.
  3. From Adelaide BG. Travel a bit round (mostly SA and VIC) but hoping to start goping NT this year.
  4. Hello all. My name is Chad. A little bit 'bout me: Own a '97 hilux LN167R 3.0 diesel, pretty standard except for UHF, High tensile Roo Bar(pointing the right way as to avoid getting those pesky pedestrians breaking the windshield........) and the like. It does see the scrub every few months but not as often as I would like. Also Normally drive the father in laws new 3 Month old Hilux when I see him. I Thought I would finally get on line and speak to some like minded people and do some work on it to improve it a bit. Cheers. :D
