  1. what the hell?! that story is nuts! the only part i don't get is why was he chasing you in the first place?? was it just road rage cause you were blocking him in the fast lane?
  2. i was about to say just remove the belt for the p/s, that'll give you plenty of feel :D
  3. go to pedders and buy some lowered springs for the front, or buy some stock springs for the back.
  4. are you sure it's been lowered? maybe its had a lot of weight in the back for a long time and the suspensions sagged? if you're sure it's been lowered, and there's nothing wrong with how the suspension is functioning, then i wouldn't worry about it unless you think it's ugly. it does seem silly that someone would do that though.
  5. sounds interesting mate! i can't imagine there being to big of a gain but 5kw would be nice, i hope it works out for you! make sure you post up your results, i'm keen to see how this turns out. best of luck to you :)
  6. When you say vibration I don't think of the exhaust at all. I guess it depends how strong the vibration is, and if it's more of a rattle than a vibration? It's always hard to tell over the internet, but like someone else said if you can feel it through the steering wheel or pedals its unlikley it's going to be exhaust related. If it's a rattle, at low revs you're exhaust might have that deep note to it that's causing a rattle somewhere?
  7. damn, that looks neat, nice height too. don't you love that feeling you get when you put in your new suspension and you slowly let the jack down, eagerly waiting to see how low it goes
  8. i dont mean to sound like a smart**** but if i were you i'd just go down a vacant street one night in an industrial area, jam the brakes on and see what happens ;)
  9. its happening in the same spot on you're route? maybe you're driving through a ghosts territory and he/she is doesnt like you? try taking an alternate route and see if the problem goes away. Seriously though maybe reste your ecu and see if that helps
  10. why dont you get the new one and have a look at the underside of it to see where the clips or screw holes are? then just keep taking bits off until you work out how to get to those spots. also, i wouldn't remove it if theres an airbag under there. i dont know if its safe or not, but personally i wouldn't mess with that.
  11. just thought i'd mention, i sms'd the guy with the black one and from what he told me i think the reserve was around $16,500 + i offered 16 and he said the reserve was higher than that "but you're not far off". just incase anyone wanted to know.. edit: WOW, anyone considering that white one should definately have a look at the guys feedback
  12. i know this is getting a bit off topic but my hilux has done 300,000k's with no rebuild and its still running fine, never had a major problem with it to date :)
  13. whitestivo - thanks mate, that makes me feel a lot more confident hahah. blackdevil - thanks for that! i've changed every other setting on here trying to work it out, it's been driving me nuts! and for the record, disregard my question about torque etc - i spent a good 2 hours at work today reading through various threads, i think i've got my head around it now :)
  14. hey everyone, i've been driving a 94' (carby) dualcab hilux since i first got my license, i've got a fair bit of experience in the minitruck scene, and 4 years down the track im absoloutely sick of them! so here i am, looking to upgrade into something with a bit more guts and handling ability, but still keen to stick with toyota. I'm pretty sure i want a sportivo corolla, i just have 2 questions for any corolla owners out there: 1 - I ride mountain bikes a lot, im guessing it would be possible to fold the back seats down and fit one it, but can anyone confirm that? 2 - what are you guys doing for more torque? I've been reading through and CAI's seem to be the most popular mod on here. having never owned an EFI i'm going to ask - can chips/remaps help shift the power curve to providing more torque? forgive me if this is a ridiculous question, i'm not very learned in this area :D oh, and while i'm here, at home this forum works fine for me, but for some reason when i'm at work i can only see the first post in a thread, and all the replies appear as little links underneath the first post, and i have to open each one individualy. does anyone know how to change that? i've provided a screenshot to show you what i mean. thanks for reading my life story! :) tristan
