  1. I'm also working on an 86 Celica. Best thing to do - Get it looking right first!! A car is far better off looking good, and going quick, instead of a fast hunk of junk. I just bought an 86 Celica for $200, and have spent the long weekend rebuilding it. It'll be mad when its done, cos it'll look like brand new! :P
  2. Hi all, Just acquired an 1986 Celica, And its running really rough, it likes to: 1) jump about 800 revs in seperate intervals 2)Blow black smoke 3)have a milky oil cap (but no water in bottom of engine though) 4)Run a little nicer with the air filter removed Where should I start looking? We originally thought it was a head gasket issue, but there's no water in the oil sump and the radiator isn't boiling. Whats the first things I should be checking?? Cheers TyDi.
  3. Hi All, Just new to forum! I finally decided to sign up when I got my first ever Toyota, which is a 1986 Celica which I bought for $200. BARGAIN! :P The owner thought It had a blown head gasket, so I thought i'd take it home and swap the gasket out but it turns out to just be needing a New air filter and a thorough oil change. (hope thats all it needs!) Right now the cars' stripped back, awaiting a fresh coat of paint, as well as new wheels, new windscreen and a new life! Hope to see you all around the forum! Cheers, TyDi
