    Hilux wheels

Can't see why not, giving your OEM wheels are 15", like anything bigger or in some instances, run it past your Insurance Company, at the end of the day they will be the ones who decide whether or not you get covered if anything sinister should prevail
  2. Good to hear mate, what was the problem, interested in knowing what it was, cheers
  3. Workshop manual is pointing towards Fuel issue, Fuel pressure regulator and associated vacuum hose leading to pressure regulator ie; are they on the correct port
  4. Nah, speed sensor was okay, it was the speedo cable come away from the back of the speedo. but the magnetic drum wasn't the best so I replaced it. You mentioned it ran fine after you sprayed around the vacuum hoses, it's like you might have a split or hole in one of the vacuum hoses, and as such they are creating an air leak, if they are long enough can you trim the ends off and reattach them, so they are a nice tight fit, if they have gone hard, brittle, might pay to replace them, its only cheap, buy by the metre and trim to size
  5. Same year as mine mate, one thing I can tell you is even a NON operating speedo will illuminate the Check Engine light, how do I know?? My speedo **** itself one day, started bouncing around for no reason, thought it was just the speedo cable, but it was actually the magnetic drum on the back of the speedo drive itself. Once another one went in, took it for a run and check engine light was off. As Novice said, fuel filter should be replaced, just on a side note, wonder if the timing chain been replaced and its 1 notch out, I'II have a squiz in the workshop manual and see if anything is mentioned under Diagnostics in regard to no power, cheers
  6. Didn't think the 2wd came out as a SR5 variant only 4x4
  7. 2016 is the newer wider gen body
  8. Can you try it in 4 wheel drive , on a straight road and see if you experience the same symptoms, also is it coming from the front or back. When its doing it at say, 85kph can you pop it in neutral then bring the revs back up to same speed and see if you can hear it again, might be a stuffed bearing in the Alternator, or power steering pump
  9. Vibrations come from anything rotating. To rule out wheel balance, have you got another set to put on the front to eliminate those already on there, even put your spare on the front and see if you can rule out the offending unit, replace the left, then the right and see if it's any better. When you say you've had them balanced several times, if it's from the same place, if they can't get them perfect first up, going back time and time again won't help, trust me been there done that, I was told it was this and that, all along it was just a bloody dodgey balance
  10. I will have a squiz in the workshop manual for you and post any findings 👍
  11. Dont quote me but do you have power at the terminals when the engine is cranking , was under the assumption that power ONLY got sent to the pump when the engine was TURNING over, then when the key was turned off it shut power to the rack
  12. You never know they might have a schematic drawing showing pick up points for electrical connections or ask them who do they use for a sparky, might be a clicked on mobile sparky, either way they should be able to provide some sort of answer especially seeing its one of their canopies
  13. Duck around and ask the question from who ever sells the brand of canopy you have, talk to the installers
  14. Have you replaced the coil which is located inside the dizzy ? I'd start with that before digging in deep replacing other stuff, STD REPLACEMENT IGNITION COIL FOR TOYOTA HIACE RZH113R RZH125R 2RZ 2RZ-E 2.4L I4 | eBay Going back to points, condensor is a backwards move

Geez Zac, that's a bit rough mate, as the boys above mentioned, even though someone asks a question and an immediate reply isn't given, doesn't point to a useless forum, people work. they have other commitments as TP stated , I personally have asked heaps of questions in the past and I know myself, give it time and I will get the answers I need and I have, but to rubbish TOC , You will get people off side & they will drop you like a hot turd ( pardon the pun ) come time for help and the person who knows the answer to the question at hand will sit back and keep his knowledge under his hat, Now in regards to your Canopy question Canopy for current shape Hilux 2005 -2016 same, Cheers Bud, Conrod👍
  16. The fuel sender pick up could have a fracture and its sucking air instead of fuel. You haven't by chance stuck a hose down the filler to syphon out fuel in the past
  17. Be very, very careful in which you get, a lot of overseas made lights do not meet Australian ADR regulations, the light is scattered all over the place, NOT where it should be, even though they will be bright for on coming traffic and chances are they will all be flashing you, but you will have diddly squat in front of you, Keep what you got and just up grade the globes, Just my 2 bobs worth

Some things genuine are just plain criminal, and don't for one minute think you are getting a superior product. When I bought a Brand New Hilux back in 2007, I went and got a set of headlight protectors from Supercheap, they were made in NZ and they kept their clarity even 10 years later . 19. Pretty sure Fly BY Wire was not introduced then, still cable
  20. Maximum Torque on the 3.4 v6 is around 3600rpm, so if lugging up a hill in O/D , as Rodirico suggested when you are approaching a hill where you know its going to start lugging trying to pull, flick it out of O/D and let the engine spin a bit, so it gets in the sweet spot, certainly wont hurt it revving a bit, do it more good than lugging it in o/d
  21. 1KD is d4d common rail, sure they are going to be more powerful, but unless you are going to keep it forever, is the huge cost/ hassells really going to pay off. Keep what you got, I take it has the 5L or 5LE, EFI version of the 5L engine. Had one of these 5LE in the dual cab work ute, four up, a tonne of gear, pulled like a train
  22. Sounds like the feed hose TO the pump has collapsed internally

  25. Mate I just Googled it and you will need a bit of time as there is a heap of answers only you will know which one relates to your circumstance, but one common answer is an air leak somewhere, Cheers toyota p0171 fault code - Google Search
