  1. Rotate your wheels front to back, could be a tyre starting to let go at speed, if the noise goes, you know its the tyre
  2. If buying boss kit only, check to see if its compatible with your make of wheel BOSS KIT STEERING WHEEL ADAPTER FOR TOYOTA COROLLA AE90 SUPRA MR2 CELICA HILUX | eBay
  3. Check out (ACA) a current affair Wed 12/07/22 , some of the Corolla's, Rav 4's and Prado's They done a story on them ( White and Pearl White, apparently the INCORRECT Primer was used, worth a watch Toyota peeling paint: Angry motorists call out major car manufacturer (nine.com.au)
  4. Its in the handbook, when you unlock the vehicle, IF YOU DONT OPEN a door in 30 sec it automatically RELOCKS, Thats so if you lock your car, throw your keys in a bag or pocket and you accidently hit the unlock button , it automatically locks again I,m sure there is a sequence for changing Lock configuations Read through this thread, cheers Conrod

    Dash Cam

If they do you will probably pay double the price of a comparable Dash Cam from Supercheap or Autobarn, Try a few car Radio installers and see what they have available , I fitted mine in my Hilux, ran the lead up the pillar and across under the headlining , but then again it has no airbags to worry about RAV4 2020 BlackVue DR900X-2CH Dash Cameras | Creative Installations Genuine Toyota below Link Genuine TOYOTA RAV 4 2.5 Hybrid (AXAH52) 2018 on Toyota Dash Cam / Crash Cam - Part no. 6. Is the Glow plug relay getting power, I know you said it is but it might be prematurely timing out
  7. Is the fuel cut Solenoid wiring on the correct terminals, It sounds like something has not been connected, If not sure swap them over. If you are going to check with the Injectors out and crank it over, NEVER EVER place your finger or any part of your body over the end of it as the pressure will pierce your skin and inject diesel into your blood stream
  8. Timing belt been put back on correctly, check and double check its SPOT ON, Close enough is not good enough Check that the Injector Pump sprocket has not moved out of timing once the timing belt has been released and put under tension . They have a habit of walking
  9. Honestly if I cant talk face to face with the person I am buying big dollar items from, such as injectors I wouldnt buy them, for all you know, it could be from your local Fruit shop, especially when they turn up with all things Dirt in the connector, sounds like they have been returned already and simply on sold again
  10. Mate I accidently ( my friggin mistake ) left my filler cap off after doing an oil change and drove to work with it sitting on top of the battery and I had oil spray everywhere, even now if I remove the cap while its running I get some pressure and oil spray blowing out. When you say; Enough to oil over my rocker cover. If thats with the cap in place , it simply needs a new O-ring on the cap, SuperCheap sell NEW Oil caps, if it were the timing you would know as it would have a miss, idle rough but smooth out higher in the rev range. Incorrect valve clearance will have nil effect towards blow by. too loose and they will be noisy, too tight especially the exhaust valves and you risk burning them, Then you will have a miss Valve clearances: Intake=0.008" (0.2mm) Exhaust=0.012" (0.3mm) Screw and Locknut adjusters, Engine Hot normal operating temperature (required),
  11. From what the book says, difference should be around 14psi (98kpa ), youll nearly always get some variance, due to carbon build up on top of pistons etc, etc, but if 2 cylinders side by side had low readings that points to a blown head gasket or a crack in the cylinder wall and pressure is simply transferirng between the two, all engines have some blow by, especially when they start to get some kays on them, how bad is it, I,d check and make sure the PVC Valve is not clogged up with Gunk, soak it in petrol, thinners something with solvent, have found degreaser useless as it dosnt get rid of all the sh*t inside it. Does the blowby reduce when you pull the dipstick out of its tube ?
  12. Sounds like he has cared for it 👍
  13. DO a compression test, is it missing at idle, have you removed and cleaned the PVC valve ?
  14. All depends on whether you are willing to shell out the 14k. Dont get emotionally attached, can he show all receipts for the work, also just on a negative, if its got Independent Front suspension, being lifted, it will wear out the Front CV Joints a lot quicker due to the increased axle angle. what you want to do now is scout about and see what else is around, in the mean time heres a bit of reading on it, Cheers Used Toyota HiLux review: 1997-2005 | CarsGuide
  15. 2wd and 4wd same width mate, only difference is from the chassis down ( suspension ), self explanatory. Tray width depends on whether you want a Slimline or a Wider one, Cheers
  16. Check each of the wheel sensors, could just be a wire connector come off or broken, easy enough, Cheers CONROD
  17. Sounds like you got the dreaded injector knock, more so when cold ? Look here or better still give em a buzz or flick them an email, very knowlegable Berrima Diesel Service - Australias Premier 4WD Service Centre
  18. Noticed Repco has a Hilux clutch kit for less than half a pkt ciggies $28 Depending what you want from it, cant go wrong, in fact there is a multitude of clearance items on their website at present Clutch Industries Clutch Kit - R1138 - Clutch Industries | Repco Australia
  19. Geez this Thread was last active almost 6 years ago, The 4 Runner from 85-95 actually come out with a 2.8L (3L Diesel), mate at work has one
  20. Finally I shouted my little Workmate to a new Clutch Industries heavy duty clutch kit, not that the Old one was shuddering, but I did notice one day while pulling a steep section of road from a standstill it started to slip when I went into 3rd gear . For a heavy duty set up I cant believe how light the clutch is now, the wife was a trooper operating the trolley jack whilst I removed and reinstalled it, also re-bushed the shifter while I was at it ($20 well spent for the kit) I,m glad I swapped it out as the friction linings on the clutch was only a whisker from exposing the rivets and scoring the flywheel
  21. Dont quote me but I thought or read somewhere that the rear spring eyes were further apart, in other words they are longer, best bet if you have a store like Pedders Suspension over there give em a buzz
  22. Just check the Squib /Slip Rings are the same for the Air Bag connection
  23. Sounds like the fuel system is sucking air on the LOW Pressure side, remove primary filters and secondary filter ( IF FITTED ), check and double check that the ' O' Rings have not been pinched, If they look suspect change them out, reinstall them, Lubed with Fresh DIESEL ONLY, do NOT use Grease as you will be introducing a contaminant to the Common Rail, Theres no need to tighten the Sh*t out of the bowls, as a correct sealing o ring will do its job also check all hose fittings to and from filters nipping up clamps as you go, if they look suspect, trim and reinstall ( just make sure theres enough length first. As fuel is heavier than air, the slightest impairment to a seal will allow it to suck air, such as a perished o ring on the bleeder screw, If its a faulty fuel pump, its a tank out job, easy enough just time consuming, Just out of curiosity does it do it with a full tank or mainly when it gets down ?? also have you stuck a hose down in the tank and syphoned fuel out, Need to eliminate all you can before thinking its the fuel pump Sorry for the ramble , could go on for hours regarding diesels, Best of Luck

    led lights

Best bet is to contact QLD road and traffic authority re Legality up your neck of the woods, if you have sealed beams, get a pair of replacement headlights where you can change the H4 globes out for better units, I paid $10 each for a near new set from the wreckers, As with anything LED, just make sure of the spread pattern on the road and they are NOT going to blind on coming traffic due to the light everywhere except where it should be, also the pure white light can be bloody useless at night in the rain, maybe check reviews , forget all the rave about how cool they look as its how they PERFORM is what you are after, just my 2 bobs worth, Also I noticed in the specification that they draw 210 watts per set, thats a fair bit of current to go through the OEM relay, compared to the original 55w60 Cheers
  25. Unscrew the drive off the gearbox, put the tip of the cable in your cordless drill hit high and have someone watch the speedo for any movement, pretty sure the drill needs to spin in reverse for the speedo to move in the correct direction, easy 5 minute job
