  1. Hi everybody, not sure if anybody else has come across this but every now and then when i take off and steer my horn emits a faint sound, almost like its going off and the battery is dead..this only goes off for about a second. Usually only happens at startup once I reverse and take off and once the car is moving you dont get this again. Im no mechanic so any ideas would be helpful, as i mentioned it happens every now and again which is annoying and sometimes embarassing
  2. Hi All, Just had a quick question about driving straight after starting your car in the morning, especially in winter. Some (most actually!) mornings I am late for work and usually startup and drive off without giving the engine time to warm up. I usually take it easy until the temp bar has moved quarter way but notice that gear shifts take longer at higher revs while cold. Does this damage your engine and should you let the engine idle first before driving off?? Cheers!
  3. Bro Unique, you can change the look on your car to a sportier look, add bodykit, different wheels, sports grill and a spoiler and you are pretty much with a different look, there's no need to change the car.. Thats true man. I think I completely forgot about modding. It's just that, when you make such a big investment you always have second thoughts. Thanks heaps for making me feel good about my purchase. I love this car but I guess I need more funds to start my modding. She's looking a bit too stocky for my liking!! Edit: Oh yeah, the dealer called me in the morning about the sportivo but I didn't pick up. lol, I was till half a sleep and some how put the phone on silent, never got around to calling back. Will do that tomorrow. Hi Unique, My previous vehicle was a 05 corolla sedan ascent, a great little car. I had to send the corolla in for some body work and decided to try out the aurion as my rental. I was completely blown away by the power and quality of the aurion. I was looking for a change before I drove the corolla and was looking at similar options, the new corolla, camry or lancer. After driving all of these I decided the aurion was the best value and settled on a ZR6. I agree with what has been said above, nobody can tell you what to do but my advice is to stick with toyota and if you do decided to do this think about spending money on your existing aurion or upgrading as the thrill of driving is definitely lacking in the corolla and camry despite them being great cars!
  4. Unique, I've also noticed that when my car is cold the ticking noise is louder, but once its warmed up its less obvious
  5. I'll give a go a putting some cloth in on my dash to see if jamming it stops the noise. I spoke with toyota and as per my post above its a $700 job out of warranty, however the kit for the clips is only $80 I wonder if there is a guide out there for removing the dash and replacing the clips. I'm sure its a lengthy job but if I can do it myself and solve the problem and save $600 I'll be smiling :)
  6. I've got a ZR6 sportivo with the keyless start /stop button and lately i've noticed that it seems to "cut out" when starting as if you were overturning the key when starting up. I'm no mechanic but could this be the starter or basically spark plugs, or could it be the colder weather. Also, the reason I settled on buying an Aurion is after driving the ATX stock model I was very impressed, however I have noticed the engine on the sportivo is some what roudy when idling (ticking noise), Toyota have told me that its just the injectors which is normal, has anybody else experienced this? Cheers!
  7. I have the same problem, called one of the dealers here in perth and was told that it's a common problem thaey have repaired a few aurion's where the clips in the dash panel have worn out, unfortunately this all happens when my vehicle comes out of the factory warranty period and while the clips are cheap to replace its a very labour intensive job so all up I have been quoted $700!
