  1. Thanks Ryanocer. They should've changed it as my manual doesn't mention the hook points at the back. But after having dug all the sand around the tyres, a small pull with the snatch strap from the screw towing eyelet shouldn't do any damage, would it? I'm gonna get myself a pair of MaxTraxx and hope for the best, I guess...
  2. How was the Kluger in soft sand? Any problems? Tips?
  3. Hi Ryanocer, I'm gonna start taking my Kluger to the beach as well. I'm planning a trip to Fraser Island later on the year and I've been reading a lot about beach driving and Fraser Island. Intend to do a couple of practice trips to Bribie and probably Inskip Point. Just wanted to ask you, when you got bogged and got recovered by your mate, where did you pull your Kluger from. I was going to get a snatch strap and shackles but then found out in the forums that the towing points in the Kluger shouldn't be used as recovery points as they're are not rated. So, what do we do in the event of getting bogged in the soft sand?
  4. Hi all, I too am planning to go to Fraser Island later on the year. I have a Kluger AWD, I've read a lot of posts and blogs and looks like it should be OK. I'm planning to let tyres down to 18 psi, take compressor and pressure gauge with me and drive 2 hours before and after low tide. However, I have a big question; I was planning to take as well a snatch strap and shackles in case I get bogged and need to be recovered by someone else. The question is where do I attach the recovery gear to?, I've read the tow points at the front and rear shouldn't be used as they are not rated. Any help would be much appreciated.
  5. My Kluger Grande AWD 2009 has 45000 kms and just changed to the 2nd set of tyres. No problems at all and love it!!!
  6. The speedo reading in the Kluger is inaccurate anyway. If any, with the right tyres you could partially fix the inaccuracy of the speedo reading. There are other topics on this respect in this forum.
  7. Hi all, I just changed mine 3 days ago, the whole set of 4 tyres, with the Yokohama Advan ST 255 55 R19 rated for 300 km/h. (Not that they ever gonna be used at that speed). I got them fitted and filled with nitrogen at Bob Jane T-Mart for $400 each. I read in the internet about those tyres being used in Porsche Cayennes. So far I'm pretty happy with the riding, handling and low noise of the tyres. The look really nice as well as they are a bit wider than the Bridges. We'll see how long they last.
  8. The manual says 30PSI. I did that for the first 5000 kms and I almost wore all the outside of my tyres. Then in my first service I complaint about this and Toyota Service advised to put them up to 38PSI. Now I have them all 4 at 40PSI and it's the best. Wouldn't recommend anything different than 40 PSI.

    SEAT WARMERS

Hi CROCO, I love the seat warmers as well even though I don't get to use them much as I live in the tropical QLD. But by memory, they don't get that hot that you would feel the need to turn them down, or burning. They are just comfy and nice. Gotta love them in winter down there!!!
  10. Hi All, WhereIs Maps sells the DVD update v18 for $295. Although I've seen in the internet forums where people upload the DVD and you just download them, burn them on a DVD and there you go!!!
  11. Hi guys, I installed a year ago a unit called SoundLinq2 SL2i-UP, the brand is VAIS TECHNOLOGY. This is a unit that goes inside the head unit and connects directly into the SatNav unit, and run an ipod cable through the glove box where you connect your iPod or iPhone. It charges it and at the same plays all your music through the car sound system. You can actually operate the system through the buttons in the steering wheel and audio system, and displays all your songs information, playlists, etc. Because is wired directly to the in car sound system, the sound quality is as good as playing a CD in the CD player (which is sh#$%t anyway because Toyota's sound system in the Kluger Grande (top of the range!!!) is really poor). I was so frustrated not being able to play my iPod in the car, and didn't want to go with other devices as you would loose the functionality of the buttons in the steering wheel, that this unit has been a game changer for me. It was a bit dear at $480 installed at my place, but worth every penny of it.

    New Kluger Tyres

Fair enough!!! There are people claiming to have got 60000 kms out of the Bridgestones, so my disappointment. The Yokohama feel pretty good so far, let's wait how long they last.

    New Kluger Tyres

Getting this afternoon 4 Yokohama 255 55 R19 for my Kluger Grande. Each $400 filled with nitrogen. It was the cheapest I could get them!!! Couldn't find any reviews of fellow Klugers using these tyres so I don't know what to expect, and never used Yokohama before but there are good reviews overall in the net about these tyres so I'll give it a go and let you all know. The Bridgestone D400 cost $389 each but wanted to try something else. Currently 45000kms and they need replacement already.

    Bribie IS

Hello Kluger people. I am new in this forum and new as well in off road driving. I am planning to go for my first time to Bribie Island to do some camping staff in the beach camping site but the only thing that is worrying me is that I don't have any experience in sand driving before. I have a Kluger AWD and I would like to know if the car is capable of taking me there and bringing me back and what I should do driving-wise to be able to do so. Any advice would be very appreciated. Thanks.
