  3. hi guys has anyone ever put a 1zz sump on a 2zz before? i have recently found out the 1zz has a baffled oil pan and i can get one cheap, is it worth it ? what you guys think ? you can see from the pictures the diffrence between the 1zz and 2zz oil pans
  4. awsome thanks for the info :D ... do you have an e-mail or does he have a web site? as i may need to get in contact with him :) sorry am from scotland and havnt heard of the garage before :)
  5. hi guys who has a corolla or sportivo with a 2zz -ge engine that is using an after market ecu ? can anyone answers i have ? can you still data log engine temperature with the normal engine temperature sensor ? or do you need to have another sensor added into a coolante pipe to do this ? also has anyone had problems with the speedometer ETC not working ? thanks again scott
  6. yeah as said its good insurance thing for your engine iv spent £10,000 pounds on my engine alone so its nice to back that up by a decent oil pump il bee keeping the stock rev limiter i think see how it goes on the dyno:)
  7. There out of stock ahh dammnn :( we need a good oil pump. Is there not a toda oil pump ? Dunno if there decent tho ? :( .. yeah i have now seen a few people say this about monkey wrench :(
  8. hi guys dose anyone know where i can buy the flexable PVC hose for the fuel pump? i just noticed mines has cracked have way up the pipe :( toyota dont sell them seperate either only with the sender unit and thats exspensive, and i cant find it on the web.. any ideas?? thank scott
  9. hi guys i have already posted this on the forum in another section but incase some people missed it , i was looking for another aftermarket oil pump for my friends 2zz as the circuit works oil pump are no longer being sold and monkey wrench dont currently have one for the 2zz but apparently they should have one soon. anyway i found an after-market oil pump gear from a company called sector hears the link :) http://www.sector111.com/products/performance/engine_upgrades/oilpumpgear.cfm thanks scott
  10. hey dude i found these oil pump gears the other day a seen a few people on the celica forum fitting them cant tell you if there any good as i couldnt find anyone who had used them for a period of time you could look into it tho .. hears the link http://www.sector111.com/products/performance/engine_upgrades/oilpumpgear.cfm
  11. where did you get them from dude? also any good body shop should be able to do it easy :)
  12. my car domain page if any one interested :) http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3978130/2004-toyota-corolla
  13. to jason's point ..... at the time i did my setup as i said there wasnt much on the market that people had actual experience with especially with a 2zz ..... so the tuner that did my car was a wizard with the PFC and so that swayed the options and to be honest i wasnt too keen on experimenting ...... but yeah far more available on the market now and i think jason has given you a few options ..... but as stated find a tuner and see what they are good with ...... although the ECU isnt that expensive losing an engine due to lack of experience is an expensive exercise. thanks for the info guys, I do like the link G4, i never new on the G4 you were able to wire sensors to the fuel sytem to tell the ECU the ethanol content, which is handy for me to know as i might be going down the E85 route aswell ,yes your probably write there is a tuner near me who is one of the best in britain, i will be going to see him soon and find out what he thinks for the extras i am wanting to use if possible :D .. i will keep you guys posted on this :)thanks Scott
  14. hey mate, yeah i did paint them. really turned out nice and shiny. better than i thought it would :) thanks dude:)
  15. hey dude love you build thread :) was it just paint for your centre console to be shiny black lol? looks amazing:D thanks scott
  16. yeah dude will make crazy power which is what am aiming for, it wont be an every day car dude just track and drag and a weekend car for fun:) ahh i see how you have done your IC pipes now , at the moment i am not using a moroso oil pan , but i will be before i go into any harsh driving around the track ETC. ill be making a side winder manifold with the turbo above the gear box and the compressor facing forward if you get what i am meaning? lol sorry if thats a bad description ... An intake shouldn't be to bad to do but it was just the pipe coming from the turbo to the inter cooler was trying to think how to do go about piping it but from your pictures i have an idea that could work that i will try tomorrow lol. What ECU would you recommend to a build like this? appreciate your help zoom :) and everyone else:) thanks scott
  17. hey dude the UK corollas don't use fluid steering racks, there full electronic :). i ended up going for a GT3582 (2)0.70 inlet A/R and a 0.82exhaust A/R, Can i ask how you piped up your inter cooler dude? did you run the pipes under the head light? this is what i am thinking of doing if possible :)
  18. i also got a huge roll of high temp heat shield like what Zoom has at the back of his engine :) i will nee to make a start to making a manifold and a exhaust system. once i am finished i will have them ceramic coated to keep the heat temperature down in the engine bay :)
  19. hi guys not been on hear for a while just had an operation on my knee. but i am back on my feet again. i have now got a turbo, external wastegate. hears some pictures :)
  20. i had the car running for about 18mths with everything cyro'ed and treated .... then it developed a click into 3rd gear ..... dont know what it was ..... so i figured if we are pullin it apart i might as well throw the jubu gear in ..... did this in nov last year ..... wen we had it all apart there was nothing wrong ... syncro's were fine, gear itself was fine ..... was just bizar ..... only thing we could think of was due to the way my selector cables run and the mount of the turbo there was pressure being put on the selecter cables ..... so this time around we have routed the cables a little different and so far so good .... knock on wood. One thing i did notice though is the car needs to get warm and in running temps before shifts smoothen out ..... not that im nailing it wen its cold but its a bit notchy when cold then once warm its gone ..... or if i shift by letting the revs drop completely then the notchyness is also not present ..... meh i warm it up a bit more before i drive. And yeah the E153 conversion kit wasnt available until late last year which was way after i finished with the car ..... plus doing what i did is obviously cheaper than the setup ....... will c how this goes before taking it to the next level i think thanks for the info mate :)
  21. hi guys not been on hear for a while as am in the middle of having 3 ops on my knees lol to much sport lol anyway the car is looking **** hot with everything bolted up. the car has sat like this for 3 weeks but am slowly recovering from the first opp and might push on with the car before the next opp so hears how its looking :D
  22. i would think so aswell super dave. Possably not i know bill has had his for a while now and the conversion kits has really been out to long
  23. LOL .... the stock gearbox isnt that weak ..... its not made from paper :P :P :P ...... its more the repeated high power runs and repeated launches and driving it hard that will eventually kill it ...... I drove mine for a year or 2 i think if not a bit more and even did a few drag events before it caved in .... and really its only 1 gear for me that kicked it .... 3rd .... MWR killed both 3rd and 4th but that was in their 10 sec celica. Thats why i am now running the JUBU upgraded gears for 3rd and 4th n lets c how they go ..... knock on wood so far so good .... i should also mentioned i had the other gears & internal shafts put through the engineering treatment of shot peaning and cyro treating etc etc as well ...... So its more when boost comes on strong and it hooks up that there is a slight flexing in the shafts which is why is chops 3rd and 4th. lol well maybe the gearbox isnt that bad lol but i do have really heavy foot for a small guy lol .. dont want to jink your car but how long have you run with your gear box modified to that set up ? i always thought bout keeping the standered box but getting it shot peaned ect like you mentioned and maybe a better set of gears but i didnt want to spend that money when i could have bought the E153 gear box and it still goes ?
  24. Its still standered thats bolted in at the moment xoom am still saving up for the e153 conversion. I will run the engine in then buy the conversion because when it goes in for the final map.. i dont think it will last 2mins lol
