  1. Another comment - I was driving the gen 6 Camry on the highway and when there was turbulence around (eg: passing heavy trucks) on a freeway at 105km/h+ the steering wheel was vibrating badly. When only passenger cars around, no problem.
  2. A toyota dealership mechanic told me that water leaked into the boot of the series I gen 6 Camry (circ 2007 models), and that this was rectified on the series II models. Is this correct?
  3. Is anyone interested in participating in a convey of Camrys and driving the circumference of Australia? I would propose to leave the Gold Coat on 1 January 2011 and arrive in Brisbane on 28 February 2011. Anyone in?
  4. Thanks. I was hoping it would only be a few hundred dollars, so I'll keep the silver trim as is. If only they didn't make the Grande model with that daft keyless entry & go system.
  5. A second question - do Toyota dealers retro-fit interior wood trim garnish from Camry into gen 6 Ateva?
  6. I am annoyed that you can't tint front windscreens anymore. Never had an issue before. The nanny state rears its ugly head & mandates an ever increasing raft of rules & regulations!
  7. Is it possible to retro-fit the electric sun shade (fitted standard to Grande) to lesser model Gen 6 Camry? How much does such thing a cost?
  8. Thanks for that detailed explanation - I think we all understand a bit better now.
  9. Why would I want to keep my comment to myself? Does not a more stable vehicle exhibit less body roll? Yes.
  10. What was the "upgrade" in 2009 called? As for stability control, it is phenomenal. It noticeably helps the ability to maintain speed in corners and lessens body roll.
  11. My understanding is the upgrade was largely cosmetic and included: - rear light cluster with red lights now above a strip of clear lights (which now incorporated LED brake/tail lights) - rear parking camera availability - different style wheels across the range - front foglights now with chrome surround - Grande/Ateva chrome grille now on base Altise, and upgraded Grande/Ateva with extra chrome on front grille - Grande with chrome rear garnish - Grande with keyless entry/go. However, didn't the upgrade come in 2009? The new model was only released in 2007.
  12. You could look to replace the seats with lower racing type seats, but I imagine that would be quite costly in comparison to the minor annoyance of your lowered roof lining (due to the sunroof). You should also consider whether a seat lower than the lowest standard seat setting could injure the driver if the airbag ever goes off.
  13. I've noticed the best thing is to use air con (constantly adjusting temperature) and have windscreen demister on. I will try next time having the air re-circulation button turned off. In other cars, I rarely notice the problem. Furthermore, in the Camry the problem does take a while to go away. Otherwise, everything else is hunky-dory.
  14. Hi! My gen 6 Camry quite easily gets internal fog on the front windscreen, and it does not clear instantly when the button is pressed to front demist. I have never noticed this problem occuring so readily in other cars, nor the demisting taking so long. Do other gen 6 drivers have the same experience?
