  1. lol IMB055 what a mad dude, +rep for that, I'm sure those figures will go a long way for him. Edit: I can't rep for some reason, but the thought is there B)
  2. I believe it's a much bigger job than to just change the bumper... The lights are different and the guards are different aswell. I believe the radiator supports and front end are different aswell...
  3. You should definately purchase another remote key, that will cost you in the $300 mark. I'm also under the impression a brand new car should come with the valet key, which doesn't have a remote, just a key, but that isn't critical.
  4. The way I see it, it's a way for you to get familiar with your car, who knows, soon you might pop on the overalls and DIY :P
  5. Looking at the age of your car... 07, I am highly highly doubting your alternator or starter motor to be honest with you... Having said that, those prices are rediculous. Getting your car serviced at workshop you trust is a better option for you to save money and you arent exactly treated like just a number, the guys name is at stake and it will be clear who worked on the car, you can even buy the genuine parts you require from the toyota parts center(Simply follow your log book) and just take them to the mechanic, the other day I purchased spark plugs, oil filter and fuel filter from toyota for only $120, add a good quality oil, 5L for say, $50 max from Supercheap, the mechanic should only charge maybe one or two hours labour, roughly $55-$80 an hour at most. You're looking at alot more done for a lot less. :)
  6. Is that because they're white or because you'd be modifying the standard headlights? =[
  7. To answer the first question, a Log Book service is to be followed exactly by what's in the log book, if TSC 1 claimed they will do everything listed in the log book, which specifically says spark plugs, oil filter(and oil) and rotate and balance(this one is iffy, I don't recall it being a req after the 3 years), they must do them. If TSC 2 will do the service but wont include oil, spark plugs or tyres... LOL.. they're planning on driving the car in, inflating the tyres and giving it back to you for $280. They are simply trying to rip you off because you are a woman from what I can see as the things they won't do are the first and most vital things in a high KM service. In regards to your battery issue, it is apparent you do need a new battery, however the alternator is questionable, has it happened since? Do you get any suspicious lights in your dash? $170 for a battery is a bit steep to be honest with you, I'm under the impression NRMA Batteries would even be cheaper... But if you trust the service center by all means, rough range for a battery is between 100 to 150 to give you an idea. Hope this gives you a bit of a clearer idea of what you want to do. Just don't get sold by the second service center if they're literally not going to do anything to the car.
  8. Hi guys, Just a question regarding these http://www.brandsport.com/trd-ptr09-02080.html brake pads... I'm looking at replacing my pads and I found these on the net, along with the rears aswell, would anyone know if these are compatible with the AU model? I'm worried about purchasing them to find they're not the right ones...
  9. Honestly after a really good wash and dry with a good chamois, my black levin stays acceptably clean for up to two weeks... If it rains on the other hand... absolutely filthy after one day... it's horrible.
  10. Ah mate this could be a big issue if you don't fix it ASAP as moisture stays in the car when the windows and such are closed. Places to check for water leakage would be mainly around the front windscreen seals on the outside, the roof rail on the top and around the door seals, my suggestion is to have someone in the car while you hose around the windscreen, roof and door seals while the person sits in the car and uses a flashlight to see if there are any drips. If you can, dry the floor with a wet/dry vacuum to try and prevent the metal underneath from beginning to rust. If you notice any dripping, let us know and we'll tell you how to fix it accordingly if you need help.
  11. It's also really easy to fix the wiper position if you find it has gone off where it used to, I believe it's just a 10mm bolt on the end of the arm, you loosen it and that will allow you to change the final angle.
  12. LOL @ the Stealer's reasoning, you are correct in saying the ZRE's have electric steering, it's surprising how many times the sales advisors at the service centers still upsell power steering flush's on them. One way to know is when you turn your reds on you will see a P/S light on your cluster. Do not pay the $180, if THEY spilled power steering fluid on it(Highly unlikely to start off with, power steering fluid toyota uses is red, and its very noticeable), they should pay the repair cost. Believe me when I tell you the service centers try everything to get out of a warranty claim, I suggest speaking to the manager and causing a stir to get what you want.
  13. Removing the wipers is really easy, if you look at the wiper arm, it has a J shape on the end, in that J shape there is a little tab that you hold down, you then pull the wiper down towards the arm, not up, alot of people try to pull up but obviously the J is like a hook and they dont come off. As far as I was aware the SA and Jap built toyotas have the same length wipers on each side, unless someones made a mistake in fitting them, the longer wiper should always be on the drivers side and the shorter on the passengers side. Hope this helps a bit. B)
  14. Agreed with the above posters champ, they look excellent.
  15. To my dispair, the guys didn't have angel eyes with HID projectors for an 06 ZZE apparently..
  16. Hi guys, my sincere apologies if this is in the wrong place but I've recently purchased a ZZE 06 Corolla and I'd like to get the Toyota owners club website sticker for the back window, would anyone be so kind as to guide me to where to purchase them? The last thing I could find of them was from 2005 but I also have problems navigating the forum as it's layout is very different(in a good way) to what I'm used to. Cheers.
  17. Hey guys, just bought an 06 corolla levin, used to work as an apprentice at toyota and always saw and heard good things so I finally got the money together and bought one. Absolutely loving it. I hope to become an active member in this forum and chip in with knowledge whenever I can. :)
