  1. I own a 2005 camry grande which has toyotalink. I had a previous white which was crashed. TL service response was excellent they had emergency services to the car very quickly. The battery for the unit had been replaced 6 months before for about $200. With that experience I looked around and bought the same model again and resumed TL. In August 2010 the whole Mayaday ECU failed and was replaced. Total cost $930 AUD way over the top for what it is in my opinion. Now it appears to have gone again if so I think I will give up and do without it, I feel it is a rip off. Does anyone have some thoughts on what to do in this situation?
  2. Hey mate, welcome. I'm pretty sure the forum never had this case before. Why don't you try let the Toyota fix it? It wouldn't cost you anything apart from leaving your car there getting it fixed for a day.. That is the problem they already have had it for a day and could not fix it. I was told they needed it back and that the back seat would have to be taken out to trace wires. Estimate for this was 5 to 6 hours. Also mentioned was the unit might have to be replaced. Generally I took it as an effort of fear uncertainity and doubt. What makes you think it would not cost anything it is sounding like a $1000 to me!
  3. I have a 2005 Camry Grande it has ToyotaLink which has worked well but has developed a problem. I can determine the cars position but it is wrong since it last communicated its position in April. Had it to Toyota for repair yesterday and they failed to fix it! They say the back seat and trim will have to be taken out which will take 5 or so hours to find what the problem is. I feel they just want the problem to go away have no idea why it is not working. Does anyone know about this are there people that specialise in these systems?
  4. Hi I have been a Camry driver for at least 10 years. Do quite a bit of country driving. Based in Canberra. Always Camrys top end models, 1993 Vienta Ultima, 2005 Grande and the same again after write off. I tow a camper trailer and the current one runs on LPG. Tried many cars prefer them for country driving.
