  1. Hi 2008 hiace Anyone know what is the size of the holes on the wall brackets/supports in the hiace cargo bay I put a 10mm bolt in but it was too small - don't have any other sizes to test so will have to buy a set - but what size? Thanks Matt
  2. Hi 2008 Hiace and I want to install a tailgate mirror. The 3 holes are already in my tailgate so maybe the van originally had one Anyway on eBay they range from $39 to $295 depending on whether you want a clone or the real deal. What they don't come with is the mounting screws? I assure you I have asked about 5 of these sellers. What sort of screw is used to mount this mirror - and where can I get them other than from a Toyota dealer ? Thanks Matt
  3. Thanks ToyotaFreak - that was a good suggestion but it turned out the handle on the inside was broken
  4. Hi I was in the back of the Hiace Van getting some parts - it was freezing outside so I shut the sliding door. But later I couldn't open it - had to call out to a passerby to let me out. I assume you are supposed to be able to open the sliding door from the inside. So where is the most likely place for the problem - the sliding door locks and opens from the outside fine The inside handle doesn't seem loose Could it be an electrical problem - I say this as if you lock the sliding door with the key the van does not centrally lock, but if you lock the front doors with the key it does. I have previosuly had some electrical problems - or do you think its a broken cable connecting the inside door handle? Thanks Matt
  5. Hi I've just picked up a 2008 Hiace that was a stolen and recovered job. All's good but the immobiliser was damaged during the theft so someone has made made a few electrical bypass moves as a new immobiliser has not been fitted. I'm not worried about the immobiliser - but the radio problem is of concern The radio doesn't hold any set stations. You set the radio and when you turn the van back on they are gone. Also when you turn the van on you can hear the CD player going though a "reboot". Lots of internal gear noises and such like So I suspect the permanent power line to the radio is disconnected with only the accessory line running. 1. Is the permanent (or constant 12v) line blue with a yellow stripe? Or another colour? 2. Tracing from the back of the radio does the permanent (or constant 12v) line come out into the loom at the passenger's left foot side, if not where does it run to? Of course I have assumed this is the issue (lack of permanent power so memory settings are lost) if I am way off please let me know what you think the problem might be. Also I don't have an owner's manual but I bought one on eBay but it still hasn't arrived. So may I also ask this question? On the radio are phone answer/disconnect buttons so do they work by Bluetooth, or do you connect the phone to the radio via the MP3 input socket on the front of the radio? Thanks guys Matt
  6. Hi Fan and vents are fine A/C works fine Turn heater on - no immediate heat Drive car for ages, temp gauge reaches normal - still no heat Sustain driving at about 70kmh for say 30 seconds and you'll get heat, but get stuck in traffic again and heat is gone If you can't get over 60kmh no heat What can be the problem? Thanks everyone Matt
