Hilux Turbo Diesel Conversion in Toyota 4x4 Club Posted June 29, 2010 Hey guys. Not the smartest when it comes to cars so bare with me here. I have a 99, 4x4, Petrol Hilux and I'm considering converting it over to a turbo diesel. Just wanted to know if there would be any issues with the drivetrain, gearbox etc. Also what years and models of Hilux's I can use the engine out of. Any feedback on how to, why or why not to do this would be greatly appreciated.
