  1. Mine has done 196,000km. It's an 07 sportivo sx6. I bought it when it had 40,000 kms on it and have serviced it ever since every 10,000ks myself. Hasn't missed a beat and hasn't had anything break. All I've ever done is routine maintenance. I've done one set of front rotors and the back are still originals. Doesn't use a drop of oil. I think I'll happily get another 200,000k out of it at this rate.
  2. Hey mate. Have you done anything to the car lately out of the normal? Changed or serviced anything? Noticed any loss of power? If it's come completely out of the blue you're losing fuel pressure somewhere and the extended crank time is your fuel pump working to re pressure the lines. Without some more background it will be hard to tell. Do you have a scanner you can chuck on and look for codes? Could be anything from a cracked fuel filter, broken o rings in filter assembly, leaking fuel lines, and worse case scenario leaking injectors.
  3. Definitely fight to get it replaced. Mine started out as just one little spot but quickly progressed to that within 8 months. I even had a dash mat at the time but it makes no difference if you keep the sun off it or not. The new material is completely different. It isn't hard like the old one. Its kind of soft and squishy. Only thing is its a little more or a grey colour than the old dash so doesn't perfectly match. Its very very close though, and I don't care as now I can actually see out the window and don't have to look at the horrible sticky dash!
  4. Hey Guys- I have been following this thread with interest for a while now and this week I finally had my dash replaced for free on my 07 Aurion sportive SX6. The difference is night and day. See below for before and after pics. before: after
  5. Yeah it's the same as the rolla basically. I've posted the actual repair manual above. It's worth grabbing if you haven't got it already. Very very handy to have
  6. Oh. Also don't over torque the bolts that hold the assembly to the fuel tank. They are VERY easy to snap.
  7. That's the ones. Good luck with it. Let me know if you get stuck but it's pretty straight forward.
  8. The cheap ones only come with the o ring for the fuel pressure regulator. You'll need to go to a Toyota dealer and grab the o ring for the top section and also the fuel cover gasket.
  9. Add me to the list guys. My beloved 07 Aurion Sportivo sx6 now has a melting dash in parts. It's that sticky every bit of dust sticks permanently to it and you can move the melted pool of vinyl around with your finger. I'm pleased with the reliability of the car and performance but the interior is truly shocking quality wise. I've had to cover my dash with an ugly dash mat. I pray we will have some luck getting it replaced in the future like our USA Counterparts but I'm not that hopeful.

  11. keep us updated! Also make sure you're servicing it at regular intervals so you can enjoy your aurion for many more years
  12. Autobarn and super cheap both sell the oil filter canister removal tool for around $20. I got mine from autobarn.
  13. Just on that..... Why don't you have a go at servicing it yourself? It is an incredibly simple 30 min job and costs about $60 for oil and filter ( or a little more if you use top quality synthetic oils) 20,000km over isn't too bad for one of these engines- They are fairly Hardy engines. But PLEASE get at least oil and filter changed. Not changing oil is one of the fastest ways to damage your engine. When oil is left, it forms a sludge( like in the pic) in the engine, causing multitudes of problems. Also: Is it only when starting the car cold? is it there all the time?
  14. Sure its not morning condensation? Thats nothing to worry about. One of the main causes of white exhaust smoke and coolant loss is a cracked or warped cylinder head, a cracked engine block, or head gasket failure caused by overheating. A cracked head may allow coolant to leak into one or more cylinders or into the combustion chamber of the engine, causing white smoke. FYI- Oil smoke is blue. A few things to check- Is it using any coolant? Do you notice water dripping from exhaust regularly? Is there any creamy/white residue on the dipstick or engine oil filling cap?
  15. Sounds like classic out of Balance/ alignment to me. Don't take it to the Stealership... go to a specialist. Get a full balance and have them check front AND rear alignment. Let us know how you go, I would say all it is is bad balance.
  16. Have you had a full Balance done recently? Also are you getting vibration/noise any other time such as when braking?
  17. Hey Brendo, Just wondering if you could tell me where is the fuel pump and is it easy to get to? mine is having trouble starting if it's not been driven in a day or two and i would like to check to make sure that it's not the same thing :) The fuel pump and filter are both in the fuel tank, accessed though the floor under the rear seat. If you are going to have a look I would strongly suggest changing the fuel filter, o rings, and gasket while you have it open if you haven't already. It only costs about $50 for all the parts you need. Best way is to follow the service manual exactly. https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B-a6Tk-Li8MWNzQxYTZhZDgtMDc0MS00NDM1LWI0NGUtMDY4ZmRiODRmZDgw&usp=drive_web&urp=http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/19545-&pli=1&hl=en_GB Click on "2GRFE fuel" and go to page FU-27. Tells you step by step how to do it. Its actually not hard at all. Give us a yell if you have any questions.
  18. maybe give 3w-30 a go? the thinner viscosity would provide a better flow possibly? I've been using nylon Full synthetic 5w-30
  19. What are you looking at spending? Some cheap ones on ebay like this one. Not the greatest sound outputs but would be on par with your original head unit. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/8-in-dash-2din-head-unit-car-dvd-player-gps-navigation-for-toyota-Camry-Aurion-/221382465664?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item338b6c5880&_uhb=1
  20. Thanks guys. It was starting to drive me nuts, glad it was only something simple.
  21. I too USED to have this exact same issue on my Aurion. Toyota Stealership diagnosed it as faulty VVTI mechanism, and wanted around 8k for repairs ( with toyota paying some of the bill as a "good will" gesture). This didn't sit well with me so I decided to start doing some research on the issue, as well as never get my car fixed or services at a Stealership again. My research found that you could indeed leave the VVTI mechanism as it was and not cause any damage to the engine. BUT When I started servicing the car on my own, and using my own oil ( full synthetic 5w-30) the noise magically disappeared. What I really think was happening is toyota were either not servicing the car properly or using extremely poor quality oil. I think the noise was actually the tappets and upper engine not getting enough oil pressure on startup causing the rattle. Just my little story.
  22. Hey cranky, Thinking of doing this n my Aurion.. would you be able to post up a video of what it sounds like?
