Hi All, I havent been on in a while and came on because I have this issue, and as expected you guys are all over it. I was just about to head down to Pedders to get them to diagnose it for me but you have saved me the time. Luckily I took the extended warranty as well so will give Toyota a call tomorrow. The reviews for that make it yourself anti-fog don't speak to highly of it :) RAINX make an anti-fog solution that comes in either a bottle or as pre-moistened wipes. You can pick it up ant any auto store like Supercheap etc. Just read the instructions because too much will actually fog up the glass :)

So are you saying that the dealer would have seen a faulty air con switch and had to ask Toyota Australia if they could fix it? What could Toyota Australia come back to them with?? Surely the dealer still has to take our the unit to see that there is not some sort of physical damage that caused the problem and stuff around for an hour or so like you said?? Bottom line i'm the customer with a fault in my car, plus i have extended warranty with the dealership so someone can just replace the switch and chase their $20 later...........

Hi All, This one is just one that has been bugging me so i was wondering if anyone knows the "rules" to get something fixed under warranty from Toyota. Just had my aurion serviced on Friday and i showed them the attached picture of how my air con is turning on by itself. Because it is an intermitant issue this was the only way i could prove it was happening. So many hours later i get the car back and they tell me that the air con problem has been sent through to Toyota Australia as a warranty claim and they will call me once they hear back from them..... Could someone not have just pulled out the unit and seen if there was a short or something??? Or is that just not the way it works??? I had my stereo replaced in the past without any issues. Your thoughts please so that i can sleep at night again :P

yeah hear in NSW they are really strict with what is allowed. It would be good to have a topic setup on law restrictions for each state :) i find it hard to even google the laws

Am i the only one out there that doesn't like the clear lights on the new model? Looks a bit import after market add-on for a stock car..... just my opinion. I say go with older model if you like it :)

So i spoke with the fiance (now wife) and made the call that we wanted a car big enough for the family but still cool and sporty and when the Aurion was burning the same fuel as the Camry and after a bargain with the dealer, the Aurion was soon at home :). Still makes me smile when it shines just after a wash

Sorry i noticed there is another post open mainly about my previouspost so i want to touch on a new fault. Has anyone has the problem with their aircon where the fans engage even when you turn the aircon and inside circulation off. If i press the inside circulation button sometimes this turns on the aircon light even though the fan speed is set to off! Anyone had anything similar? I'm goign to mention it to toyota when i get the oil ose looked at.

got a letter today from toyota advising me to come in and get that oil pipe changed. Looks like it is official. That or my service boys at toyota didn't get around to it in the last couple of years :P

Hi All, I have an Aurion SX6 and i was just wondering if the central locking and window locking controls on the drivers door are supposed to be backlit when you turn on your headlights? Mine isn't and it seems a bit weird that the symbols are in an illuminous white setup to be backlit. Your replies would be greatly appreciated.

Just thought i would let you all know that the rattle in fact was coming from the guard around my muffler that was bent down and was touching the muffler.

Thanks for your responses. Yes it is definately the torsion bars now that you say it that is what they were talking about when i took it in. I will have it sorted out at my next service. Thanks again guys.

I apologies if this has already been spoken about. I couldnt find the topic when i was scanning through. Just wondering if anyone was having problems with the 2 braces that are in the boot of the Aurion. My SX6 has one bar that kept popping out of its clip. Toyota spent an hour bending it to make it fit then ended up cable tying it in but now once i get on some unstable road i can hear a rattle. Anyone experience a similar thing?

Hey guys, My 05 Corolla Sportivo got stolen not long ago and so i have to find a replacement for it. I'm looking at the Aurion (ATX or SX6) is it worth forking out the extra bucks for it? Would appreciate your advise Cheers Pacie B)

Yeah the only prob is an engine related problem would be what i would want my warranty for. i know TRD and toyota are diferent companies but you would think they would support each other - just like subaru and STI or somethng

Yeah the extended warranty was "free" but you are all right it is a rip off i have to get the car serviced there etc. at the moment its all been going well and not charging much so im happy - im not worried about losing the extra 3 years i just want to keep the normal 3 year warranty. But judging by this ofrum there doesnt seem to be many people that have had trouble due to a TRD CAI am i right???

Hey all, Im in the 6 year Warranty situation as well. Im in Sydney and Castle Hill Toyota are saying if i get the TRD CAI it wont void my warranty but im with Lander for my warranty and their manager said it would if something went wrong and they could trace it back but then when i called yesterday a mechanic said it shouldn't void anything. They have a new manager now so im waiting for his response. Ive spoken with Toyota Australia and they are saying that TRD parts are not referenced by Toyota Australia and so therefore any damage caused by a TRD part is not covered. I've got an 05 Sportivo so ive only used up 1 year of my warranty - basically im trying to make a deal with the Toyota service department that if they install it and service it then can they keep it under warranty. What do you think are my chances are and even if they dont cover it do you still reckon i should go ahead wit getting the TRD CAI?
