  1. Hi everyone, there has been a bit of a break since the last Tampered Motorsport track day, so it is about time to give you all the details of the next one. Monday June 8th, which is the Queen’s Birthday Public Holiday, is set to be the next Tampered Motorsport Track Day. The day will kick off when scrutineering starts at 7:30am. You will need to do your paper work at the scrutineering office before you have your car checked. Please make sure you have removed all loose items from inside the car. YOU WILL NEED: Long sleeve and long pants of non flammable materials i.e. No Nylon AASA license which can be bought on the day for $50 (these last for 12 months) or CAMS L2S Closed footwear Helmet that complies to Australian Standards (has ASA or Snell Sticker) Car needs to be in a good condition, no oil leaks, no loose items in the car and battery secure. 2. If anyone is keen on competing but doesn't have their own team, you can contact the Wakefield Park Office, they have a register and will make up mixed teams. Cheers Adam
  3. Hi Everyone, Wakefield Park will conduct a new event in 2009 called the Wakefield 6 Hour Regularity. The concept of this event has been very popular in Victoria and SA with oversubscribed grids at the events. The event is being held on the 7th and 8th of March. The Six Hour Regularity differs from the traditional 6 Hour race in that it is not an outright race and people can compete on a minimum licences of a AASA (Wakefield) Club Licences or CAMS L2S and can be done it street cars, track cars or race cars. It has been a great way for clubs and groups of racers to team up with mates and have a fun weekend of motorsport. This year’s Phillip Island event had a full grid of 50 teams and the Winton event this year also had a full grid of around 40 teams. You can check the Natsoft results below to see what type of cars have been running in this event. http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results.cgi?26/10/2008.WIN http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results....31/08/2008.PHIL The Wakefield event will have a grid capacity of 36 teams which would be amazing if NSW could emulate the Victorian events and have a full grid in its first year. The entry fee is $1,500 which includes up to 6 drivers/6 cars (minimum of 3 drivers/2 cars) a pit lane Garage and timing transmitters for all of the cars in the team. There are minimum and maximum lap times and competitors must fall between the two for the event so the speed difference is not too great. Min lap time: 1min 5 sec Max lap time: 1min 25 sec For entry forms, or regulations head to www.wakefieldpark.com.au I already have 2 teams entered myself, I compete every year in the Winton event and it is so much fun. I look forward to a little friendly rivalry!! :) Cheers Adam

  6. The third annual Performance Car Mania is set to take to the track at Winton Motor Raceway for September 19-21, 2008. Dr Drift will be running the ever popular Dyno Challenge and in 2008 the Performance Car Mania event is set to see more Cruising the track than ever before. For the first time in 2008 we will see the Power Skid contest which will take place on the main straight in front of all the fans. There will also be camera crews recording the event DVD which will be available after the event. Everyone I spoke to last year had an awesome time, and I am sure you will in 2008. Cheers Adam

  9. It was closed for a couple of weeks over Christmas, you would have to of noticed the new surface if you were here in Januray.
  10. Wakefield Park has re-opened after undergoing major works in the resurfacing of the circuit. This now gives Wakefield the satisfaction of having the freshest racing surface in the country. 11. The next Winton Fun Day is scheduled for Sunday January 27th 2008. The Fun Day is a "come and try" day and is designed to allow the average motorist access to a real race track under controlled conditions. Cost: Is $30 per driver and $30 per passenger Programme: GATES OPEN 8am Scrutineering, not long after that Drivers Briefing at around 9.00 - 9.30 Requirements: Bring your car, an Australian Standard Approved helmet, the helmet can be either open or closed face, fire proof clothes that cover you from neck to ankle to wrist (cotton or wool clothes are good). Runners are not the preferred footwear, Blundstones boots (or similar) or any leather type shoe is preferable Make sure your car has no oil/coolant leaks, fitted seat belts, battery is secure, wheels nuts are tights, no loose items in the car or boot. The Car does not have to be registered, but has to road/race worthy. Tyres need to be in good nick, tread depth is not normally a problem unless wire is poking out. There are normally no checks done of lights except for brake lights except if it is an overcast, rainy day, then there may be checks for lights as well as wipers. Tow bar tongues and bull bars must be removed. You do not need to have a race licence, club licence or indeed a car licence abut you must be over 16 to drive or be a passenger. And very importantly, bring a smart, alert attitude, because there is some very fast cars out there, whilst it is not a race meeting, some people bring race cars and we push them hard to behave appropriately around first timers. Food and drinks are available through a canteen Should be a great day, see you there....
  12. Sure thing, there is suppose to be a group from EvoOz coming down from Sydney/Canberra as well. Just send me an email and I can reserve your places. adam@tamperedmotorsport.com If you need group accommodation try Trekkers Rest in Benalla - 0357 62 3535 tell them I sent you! Cheers Adam
  13. Actually it has been slow going at the moment, I think everyone is waiting until after Christmas to committ to it. Should be a good day! The Tampered Motorsport "Gifts" have arrived and they are pretty cool - can't say what they are, you will just have to wait until the day!
