  1. toyota service centre overfilling your oil, that's pretty poor, i would march on straight back and get them to re-do it. iridium's fine but be aware you must make sure you warm your car up for a couple of minutes otherwise your going to be constantly cleaning them if you start driving and there not operating at the right temperature.
  2. i can't remember what brand the bulbs were but i'll see if i can find the packaging. the other option would be to install a relay so that if the bulbs do pass too much current it wont damage the wiring but jus stop at the relay.
  3. take caution with buying some of the high powered bulbs from ebay. i fit a super white h4, think it was the 4500k one to two of my previous civics after a couple of months found that on both cars one of the headlight wiring on each was burning and plastic connector thing melted. jus something to keep in mind, maybe worth spending that bit extra and purchasing set of HID, seen them on firesport for $140
  4. hi, recently picked up a set of corolla sportivo seats and am planning to fit them to my car although i want to change the rails as previous owners attempted to modify the rails to fit into a celica. can still fit with 3 bolts but for peace of mind would rather 4, so jus wondering as anyone done this before and if so how?? thanx
  5. thanx for all the feedback. i opted for the NGK as per the service manual. as autobarn and bursons were out of the denso. though got a good price for them, only 3.95ea. on special at autobarn at the moment.
  6. i have a late 1zz 2003, air con filter is behind the glove box. Changing that every couple of years could be helpful also helps get rid of the junk in the vents
  7. hi all, have been hearing mixed opinions as to what to replace my plugs with. Stay original or something else for a decent price. thanx
  8. i wouldn't be so dismissive about the idea. Give toyota a year or so and i'm sure we'll see some prototypes popping up in the media aimed to compete with the growing hot hatch market in australia.
  9. Try this thanx alot rolla2. will attempt tomorrow jus after i take the new civic type R for a spin, lol. thats gonna be fun. ill post up how things went, thanx again
  10. Look here : ZZE122/3 Foglight wiring etc thanx, but the link does not seem to be working. i brought the set including wiring from SSS in melb, they said it was pretty much plug n play but i still want to be sure before i short everything
  11. is there really that much headache?!? They are just like you get from toyota with all wiring plug in play as well as relays. switch and a fuse, its just im not sure where to plug everything in. i wonder whether toyota would give a bit of advice if i went and asked???
  12. i have recentally purchased a fog light set to be fit on a 2003 ascent. The only problem is it didn't come with an instruction manual. (i gotta call on monday to ask if it should) I could guess were everything goes but i dont want to shorten any wiring. Has anyone else fit a set on and does the wiring behind the fod light cover plug straight in? any help is appreciated, thanx
  13. i have a 03 ascent with 112,000kms on the clock. hasn't missed a beat the whole time. have only changed the suspension as you'd expect after that many kms. jee i wish i had a stivo, i have driven stivo many times and ascent, levin, etc are no comparison, just a totally different car. but personally driving 40,000kms a year, taking in petrol costs, etc, i would go for the japanese built levin. reliability issues a minimum.
  14. i got the same problem! it gikves me the sh8ts. jus push it in then it popes back out after a lil while. thanx northy, i will hasve a look...
  15. jeeze, ill have to check. its jus in the heat i can see bumps on the dash board where the filter is. its like the filter or watever it is is pressing up against the dash. but ill check and get back to yous :P

  17. silverbuilt: did you use a plastic primer before spraying the final colour on. cos i was talking to a guy at a paint shop and he said you need this special plastic primer so that the paint would stick and not peel. was he correct??
