  1. Thanks for that, but could the removal process itself create a leak ?
  2. Is anyone aware of any possible reason that the repair work on a airbag recall could possibly cause a rain water leak into the cabin under the passenger side dash? Or could there be no sensible relationship, in which case I will have to look for other causes.
  3. G'day all, Can any one tell me where I can get a copy of the 2007 Yaris YRX Owners Manual including instructions on how to use the 6 stacker CD and how to use the trip computer (seemingly exclusive to the YRX) including fuel consumption computer. I am sure the consumption computer is in there somewhere as you can see the options when the light shines on the screen from behind. The options seem to be just under the clock output. When I bought my Yaris YRX it didn't include a manual or spare keys. :(
  4. That's great !! :D Thanks very much.
  5. G'day all, does anyone know where I can get an instruction book/manual for the 2007 YRX Yaris with 6 stacker CD (and Bluetooth) audio system?? It's number appears to be 12853. Regards Tony
  6. G'day I'm Tony. I have a Yaris YRX 2007 which I bought very recently and an Avalon 2005 which I've had for approx a year. Unfortunately a Yaris YRS we bought was written off one day after picking it up. The first smash I've had for many years. However, the little Yaris stood up to it extremely well (t-boned into the driver's door by a Commodore at approx 70 kph). No injuries. Says a lot for the integrity of a Yaris. I'm also a Rover enthusiast, but not the ones built after 1986.
  7. I've just bought a 2005 Avalon only to get it home and find the alternator has a charging problem. Charging OK (mainly when the engine is cold) one second and not charging the next, a regular off and on charge from 13.5 volts down to 12.4 v. A new alternator looks as though it could cost me an extra $500 on top of the purchase price . The car's only done 81,000 kms. I thought Toyotas were bomb proof.
  8. I picked up my "new" Avalon Grande 2005 today and drove happily home (1 hour trip), stopped at home for an hour, started up again and drove to the shopping centre 20 mins away, parked the car and switched off. All OK so far. Bear in mind that it was cold and raining. Came back in approx 1 hour turned the key and it cranked once or twice them stated clicking (same as when the battery is flat). I tried this at least 4 or 5 times with no success. However, the battery was new and no warning light had been showing up over the whole trip, and the lights never went dull. By now it was dark and raining so I called the RACV; he arrived 1.5 hours later and jump-started it after one or two attempts. He thought the battery voltage was down (12.4 V) and the alternator wasn't charging ??. Next thing he orders a flat bed truck to take the car home for me. When the truck unloaded the car at home the driver thought we should try starting it again, and it started as if nothing was wrong. ( a bit embarrassing ). The battery appears to have been OK all along. BUT what happened ????? The only time that sort of thing has happened to me before in a previous car was when the power terminal on the starter solenoid came loose, easily fixed. I will check that in the daylight. In the meantime has anyone had that experience, or have any suggestions as to the cause , I can't be sure it won't happen again in a more inconvenient location.
  9. G'day all, I have just bought a Toyota Avalon Grande 2005 :D after spending weeks looking for another Rover. I have been so disapointed with the modern Rovers that I decided to go for something with the same appointments but in a bomb proof car. I have heard nothing but good comments about the Avalon (apart from its conservative looks). The grande looks to me as well appointed inside as the Lexus ES300 but for a much more reasonable price. I still have 3 Rovers, 2 1984 V8 hatchbacks (great car ) and a 1971 P6 2000 which is to be sold to make room in the carport for the Avalon (sad but necessary :( :. Apart from Rovers I am into Classic Wooden Boats which is why I needed at least a 3 litre with some grunt. I look forward to talking to you guys sometime down the track.
