  1. Nobody spots me, hahaha I'm usually down near Frankston way, or out Eastern Melbourne (Ringwood way), or somewhere between the two. Or maybe my car doesn't stand out enough to be spotted, hahaha.
  2. +1. Will be more than happy to join for a coffee & chat! :) +2 depending on days, im down though :] +3 +4
  3. Thank you. I'm aiming for it to remain practical, reliable, tasteful (although some of my friends HATE the louvre, haha) and most of all, what I like, seeing as it's my car. And yeah, the SX's with the 4A-GE engines do go pretty well. I've now clocked up nearly 50,000 kms in this since I got it (it had JUST over 200,000 kms on the odometer when I got it, it'll clock over 250,000 in this next week). In those 50,000 kms, other then a dead battery, the only trouble it has given me was when the hall effect sensor in the distributor died while I was driving to Melbourne and I was about 70kms from Melbourne, near Ballarat. Engine diagnostics reported "NO RPM", which meant the sensor in the distributor was not picking up that the engine was rotating, thus the ECU got no signal and cut both spark and fuel signals. Once the distributor was swapped for another one, it was back on the road again. Not bad for a close enough to 20 year old car that has done that many kilometers I think.
  4. Was great to catch up with you all, and was great to hear some of these cars at full nose! Wish I could have ran mine, but my mates white Series 1 AE93 which was ran would have pulled about the same figure as mine I'd guess, given how similar both cars are. Looking forward to the next meet, maybe next time mind will be clean enough for me to put on a DVD and show it off a bit, but I've been so busy, today was one of the few days I've had where I have not been run off my feet...
  5. Thanks mate. I should update this topic, I'm back in Melbourne, have been for a month or so. Reason I had moved to SA was to live with my girlfriend, and then she decided it was over (long story, doesn't matter now, I can hold my head hight and say with my hand on my heart that I did nothing wrong), anyway, I'm back in Melbourne now... Not much has changed, asides from me adding a rear louvre.
  6. lets start this list... 1) dorifto 2) johnnieboi 3) jeffy 4) jaderd 5) eviltwin 6) lateralus 7) KRS-093 8) Kenshin X 9) TRD AURION TIANNA8 10) TroysRollaSX - should be a laugh to see how little power my redtop 4A-GE is getting to the road!
  7. Thanks. I was extremely shattered when I came back to Melbourne, but am slowly getting over her now. Helps that lots of my female friends have been saying I was too good for her and I could do better, lol Looking forward to catching up with everyone again!
  8. Might see me again people, and I might see some of you again - I've moved back over to the eastern suburbs of Melbourne after my girlfriend over in South Australia ended the relationship.
  9. Oh wow, they look very sexy, hope they fit for you mate. Best of luck!
  10. Just pay the rego in Vic. Drive around SA till rego nearly out again. Pretty sure you will need an inspection to change states. That's sort of what I would suggest too. Except when you get to SA, change your registration over and cancel your Victorian registration and claim back your remaining rego. They don't always inspect the vehicle (well in QLD anyways) but you should be prepared to present it for inspection if they do request it. That's usually for new registrations though. In your case, the Transport SA website sums it up nicely: Registering an interstate vehicle Unless you hold a current interstate registration certificate in exactly the same name as the intended South Australian registration the vehicle must have a vehicle inspection to confirm the correct identity of the vehicle. After the vehicle has been inspected you can provide the following information to a Service SA customer service centre: - Your completed application for registration and third party insurance and your inspection certificate - Evidence of identity if you have not previously been issued a licence or registered a vehicle in South Australia - Payment of fees. You can use the EzyReg fee calculator . To avoid paying stamp duty you will need to produce the interstate registration certificate showing the vehicle was registered in your name. After you have registered the vehicle in South Australia you can apply to the state where the vehicle was previously registered for a refund of registration fees. Ahh, perfect, thank you!
  11. I figure this is as good a place to ask as any... My car is registered in Victoria, and now that I've moved to South Australia, I need to get the car registered over here. It broke down on the way to Melbourne to pick up some of my things almost a fortnight ago. I had to get back home before it was fixed (turns out it was the hall effect sensor in the dizzy that died, thus no signal to the ECU that the dizzy was turning, thus no fuel or spark), so once the car was fixed, it went back to where I used to live and share with a friend, and I won't be able to pick it up financially until next month. Problem is, the Victorian rego expires on this sunday. I enquired with the local SA transport people here, and they said that all I had to do was fill out the forms they gave me, pay the money and they'd give me new SA plates to put on the car and it would be registered here. I thought, perfect, wait until I've got the money, go in with the paperwork, pay for my new plates, throw them in my backpack, head back to Melbourne, put them on the car (so it's registered again) and drive it back home. However, I've been told by my partners mum (who works for toyota here in town) that they'll need to inspect the vehicle before they issue new plates for it. In which case I'd have to pay the vic rego just to get it back here. Can anyone shed some light on this for me please?
  12. I've moved to SA now, just over the border from VIC, about an hour from Mt Gambier, so I guess nobody is likely to spot this car in Melbourne again any time soon, hahaha
  13. I spotted someone the other day, but I was travelling in the other direction at 100km/h, so didn't get to get a good look, and now it's at least a week ago and I can't remember exactly where it was. All I remember now is that I recognise it from the meet at Bundoora Park. Spotted fail, hahaha
  14. Big fan of Top gear here, I have all their current format here on DVD. That DVD is actually a Jeremy Clarkson one - The Good, the Bad and the Ugly - where Jeremy goes over to the US to see if they can make a good car yet? Thanks mate, I'm happy with how it sounds now. I've got a few friends who compete in DB comps, who have said they are impressed with the setup I have, in particular saying I have a great headunit and a decent amp. And yes, still deciding what to do about the parcel shelf, carpet in the same colour as the rest is one of the options I'm considering. Thanks mate! Hahaha nah, Disturbed. Most of the music I listen to is Disturbed, Fear Factory, Metallica, that sort of thing, although I also listen to Eminem, and occasionally more popular stuff, hahaha Thanks mate! I'm up for that. I wish I could have made it to the Winton meet, but oh well, maybe next time :(
  15. I second that! Yellow will have more contrast too, I think it would look great! Although of course it looks great as it is!
  16. My car sounds much better now - when the stereo is on that is, hahaha! For those who have not seen the DVD player in it... 12" Kenwood sub (650w peak) in box and 600w (peak) amp, all connected up and bolted into place. Custom parcel shelf in place with Kenwood 6x9s (220w peak) connected up... Testing to make sure everything worked before bolting it all up - camera had trouble with the audio, and I didn't have it THAT loud! DVDs and music are much better now!
  17. I should be able to make this one, but unless someone buys the other AE92 I have for sale on ebay at the moment, it doesn't look like I'll be able to afford to play on the track too. :-(
  18. Good to see you all had a great day! For those who want to share pictures that they've uploaded to facebook, it can be done, here are the steps involved: Locate and view the picture you want to shareIf it comes up in the new Facebook 'theatre' picture viewer, press the F5 key.Right click on the picture itself, and choose whichever is applicable, depending on which web browser you're using: Copy image URL (Google Chrome) / Copy Shortcut (Microsoft Internet Explorer) / Copy Image Location (Mozilla Firefox) / Sorry not sure about other browsers. Now in your post here, press the Insert Image button in the toolbar above your post (2 to the right of the :) )Then right click on the hightlighted http:// and select paste.Lather, Rinse and Repeat as necessary. I hope that helps.
  19. Sorry everyone, I won't be able to make this one after all. The joys of being too sick to hold down a job and therefore having very little in the way of cash flow. Hope you all have a great day, and I'll catch up with you all again sometime soon. Once again, sorry.
  20. I'll go hungry for a month if I have to so I can make this one! I want to do this, but can't be 100% at the moment, really depends on funds, but if I can have the funds to do it, I'll be in, be fun and interesting to see how a nearly 20 year old Corolla does around there, hahaha
  21. Well then there's no motivation for me to bring a DVD then, as Top Gear rocks :D lol, I was wondering why you had called it "the 3 mates lowering kit" Just figured there was a company out there called "3 mates" Hahaha, ok, top gear it is then! Hmm, will make a change to the usual "adult" DVDs that sometimes find their way into the DVD slot when showing my mates the DVD player, hahaha Yeah, we all piled into it and my mate who was in the other car said he had to get a photo of the car with us all in it, because he said it looked great like that. He took the photos, then showed me and my other mates, and one of the other guys said "Ahh yes, the old 3 mates lowering kit", and I thought that was a good one, so I remembered it. Oh trust me, after seeing those pictures, there is no way it'll be staying at stock height any longer then necessary! I rekon it looks HOT at that height! Those are my favourite pics of my car now!
  22. Thanks mate! Yeah, I don't really advertise the fact it's got that head unit and screen in it outside of the car, for obvious reasons. Bring a DVD if you like to the next meet and I'll throw it in while we're all parked - you don't want me to choose which DVD it is, or else it'll most likely be a Top Gear DVD, hahaha! Oh, and unless I throw a half a dozen or so bags of cement in it it won't be that low - that was with a carload of mates (that's why I called it "the 3 mates lowering kit", hahaha), a full boot and a tank full of petrol. I don't think I want to go THAT low - it looked AWESOME, but I couldn't even clear my own driveway until someone got out! Thanks! I plan on keeping this car for a long time, so I want to look after it as best I can - it's too good to drive into the ground!
  23. No worries, and no doubt they'll both be there, Joel hopes he'll be able to have Dis 'rolla ready in time, even if not he and Di are keen to come along. I'll try to get them to sign up here :)
  24. No worries mate, I wish I could take pics as well as he does! He also took some great pics of my car yesterday, but those belong in my thread, just about to put them up there!
