  1. Great show and shine today guys, had a nice turnout and great range of winners across the categories. Big thank you to those who voted for my interior, absolutely stoked to get Runner Up and it has made all the effort really worthwhile :D Very chuffed :) Massive thank you also to all those involved in organising, and to both Daryl and Mick for smooth running on the day and looking after all the interstaters. The list of extra helpers is too long to mention! And I have some great ideas already to put forward for next year's annual ;) Bring on the photos and Hog's Breath tonight! :D
  2. Heheh, I thought so too :) Well funnily enough yesterday there was a gold Aurion in the MovieWorld car park and today at Dreamworld there was a gold Aurion parked over near the admin building No other gold Camry's yet though :(
  3. Very excited! Spotted Steven this morning parked at a BP on Gympie Road - can't believe I got an interstate spot whilst I'm up here Mainly because gold Aurions and Camry's stand out to me more but still, thought that was pretty cool. Incidentally it was the first gold Toyota apart from my own I've seen on my entire journey :)
  4. Welcome to the new Camry owners :D About time there were some more of us! Latest mod purchase for me is eyelids, just need to get them painted (probably while I'm in Brisbane) and then fitted.
  5. Heheh I got it from a very special source :) Basically just a bulk shipment from Amazon, so I've also got some gallon bottles of their Detailers line at home now too :D The endurance tire gel that is now in a spray bottle is a stack better as well (can now get trigger or aerosol, Autobarn tell me they expect to have the 2011 products around July - pretty terrible considering Amazon have been selling them since January!) What you've said about the M205 is basically spot on, and I think their use of the word 'Ultimate' is mostly marketing spin, and designed to get consumers to line up the products in their mind as in they will have Ultimate Compound, followed by Ultimate Polish, followed by their Ultimate Wax, which I think is available as a liquid and as a paste. I am keen to try the AG regime too, but with Meg's doing such a good job for me at the moment I am finding it hard to stray too In terms of a write-up I will knock something up, I've only got the one photo of it on my car before I hit it with wax but you should be able to see enough of a result from that :)
  6. is getting pretty damn excited - start my holidays tomorrow :D Look out Brisbane, here I come!

Thanks Andrew - normally its the other way around and the visitors bring the bad weather! So hopefully it clears up :)

Definitely Vinh, going to be a fantastic long weekend :D

  7. Getting very close now :) Will be starting my great road trip on Friday so can't wait! Daryl, I'll try to remember to do another direct deposit before I go out tonight, otherwise I'll fix it up tomorrow.
  8. Oh dear - that was a very old post! I did do some work on Saturday but no Ultimate Compound, however I did try out Meg's new Ultimate Polish. It's not out in Australia yet as its part of their new 2011 product range. I am very impressed with it too, does exactly what it says on the bottle which is to add a layer of gloss and reflectiveness, and it helps to even out the swirl marks as well, and I did notice it had this effect. The only annoyance with it is that you cannot let it dry, so as soon as I applied it I had to remove it before it dried. So I can see that having one of their Dual Action polishers would make this step much, much easier! Have only clayed, polished and waxed the car, lots of work to do before the annual still! (most of which will be done up there)
  9. Hey guys, have fun tonight :D Sorry I won't be able to make it, got a few bits to do here and plus I'm saving the pennies for the drive up to Brisbane for the annual - tomorrow is the epic car detailing day in preparation I will get to another Friday night meet one of these days
  10. Hey Wayne, of course! :) Just keep your eye on this thread as this is our pinned one for Victorian monthly meets, the TOCAU annual is taking place next month so looks like the next one will be in July. There's also a meet planned for this Friday night too if you check out the rest of the Upcoming Club Meets & Events forum :)
  11. Lol! Now I understand exactly what you guys are talking about - what an awesome use of taxpayer money :D That alone makes me want to visit Tasmania
  12. I have updated the first post - will postpone this one until July after the annual meet.
  13. Definitely - I have GOT to get you to take some snaps of my car while I'm up there please :D And I suppose snaps of the go karting would be okay
  14. Yes, Sydney > Brisbane is doable in a day. And my door is always open....with notice :) Awesome, thanks very much, I will let you know asap :) Definitely want to drive so am just sussing out how that would work, the more I think about heading home to Bright first and then to Sydney, and then from Sydney to Brisbane the more I like it. Still the same amount of petrol but saves on accommodation, and still puts me up there the week beforehand so I can go check out the Gold Coast etc Then at least I'd have company on the return trip to drive back to Syd :)
  15. Heheh Queen of Cleaning, I like that! :D Thanks heaps for the help, really means a lot to me :) Lol fair enough Mick, I still really want to drive, I just need to work out the sums better. I don't so much mind $600 odd worth of petrol, but since I'm driving up by myself I'll have to pay for accommodation on the way up too. Unless I maybe go home to Bright first, Bright to Sydney (was about 7 hours), stay with BG Pete and then is Sydney - Brisbane doable in a day?
  16. Heheh yeah, very apt way of putting it! The more I think about it, I will fly, just weighing up the costs of driving and I am pretty sure I wouldn't be able to afford to do that, especially when Tiger Airways had flights up for $1 and the return flight was $70. That way I've got more money to spend on fun holiday things :D Is there good public transport to get down to the Gold Coast? I might be able to hire a car, but at 24 I'm still a year under their usual 25 y.o limit. And I guess is there good public transport around Brisbane in general? I'll help you clean your car Andrew if I can shotgun around the meet activities :D Oh and count me in for the go karting now too then, can I direct deposit you the $20 Daryl?
  17. Alrighty - well I just found out I didn't get the job, which sucks, but in a piece of much better news I will now 100% definitely be coming to the National :D I have hols booked in the current job from the 6th to the 20th, so now I'm just working out if I can afford to drive up on Saturday the 4th (as I want my trip up there to be good holiday time, and time to see and do things) or do I fly up and back and just use public transport/bum rides off you QLD'ers :)
  18. Hey Kirius, certainly a pretty big project you've got on the go there :) The new wheels look a lot better than the old chromies, and I do like the front end of that kit. Good luck getting it all fixed up properly and painted. What's next on the agenda? (and yes, your signature piccie is far too big, please at least halve it :))
  19. Totally agree Andy, not living in Melb I originally pitched it as a catch-up and was looking for suggestions on places to meet up that you guys have been to. My plan is to check out Mt Macedon this weekend and it can be the cruise for July, and then on the 22nd we can just catch-up for a lunch in a park somewhere. To save on organising this time we'll just pitch in and get fish and chips. Sooo... is there a good park near Kenshin's family fish and chip shop joint? Or another awesome one in the city? If its the week before, the 22nd, it won't conflict with Reece's 27th Friday night meet-up, I mean we could have two meets two days apart but that probably won't work
  20. Very slowly - I don't think there is much of an attendance list for the 22nd, just a mild interest. I'd like to tee up going to Mt Macedon, but if that's too far for people we can do that another time, and perhaps just meet on the 22nd at Bundoora Park or similar and get fish and chips?
  21. Congrats - that is pretty cool and a great reward for effort :) Have you got a picture of the car in its show winning condition??
  22. Very interesting reading, and that does actually make sense too.
  23. Hey guys, I'll think about it but pretty sure I'm out, getting down there to not meet up until 8:30 seems a bit wasteful for me to turn around and head back home 2 hours later, if there was an earlier component I would have been there. I'll see how I'm going closer to the date :)
  24. Hey, we'd love to have you along to a meet :) Mt Macedon is on the way to Bendigo, its about an hour and a bit from Bendigo towards Melbourne, and I'm guessing from say Essendon/Sunshine it'd be around the hour mark too. I didn't know where Keysborough was so I had to look it up :) There are a couple of members down that side of Melbourne and our Melb members try to tee up Friday night meets and things. For the rest of us we generally try and plan something once a month to meet and catch up. For anyone interested dwee and I are going to go check out Mt Macedon this Saturday, meeting there (just off the freeway in Black Forest Drive) at noon. Cos I'm still keen to organise something for the 22nd to catch up with people, I can't make the Friday night one Reece has planned and obviously nothing will be organised next month because its the Annual.
