I have the same problem with my iPod Touch. I have found that if I start the engine and have the car in 'Drive' before I connect the iPod then the bluetooth will work perfectly. However if I connect to bluetooth while in 'Reverse' or 'Park' it will cut out again when you change gears back to 'Drive'. Very annoying!

Very funny - damn iPad has a mind of its own tonight.! I have now switched to the laptop instead to save myself anymore embarrassment - Don't suppose you know how to delete posts? Anyway, what I was trying to say is that there is a filter cartridge behind the glove box in the Kluger and the Prado which can be replaced when the air-con gets a bit stinky. Sorry about the blank posts!

I get condensate discharge form both the front and back with my 2008 KX-S as it has two units. If you don't have any discharge from the front then the discharge pipe could potentially be blocked causing the condensate to overflow into the front passenger foot well. You may not notice it if you have floor mats installed. This could be causing the damp smell and next time you run the a/c check the footwell for dampness. I've just checked, I am getting discharge from front pipe as well, today at least and I didn't detect any smell this morning. Maybe I get intermittent blockage, I'll get them to check.

Hi, My husband has the same smell coming from the air-con in his 2010 VX Prado. Usually lasts about 5 minutes then goes away but sometimes it lasts the whole trip. He doesn't notice it anymore because he is in the car all the time and has probably gotten used to it, whereas the kids and I think it stinks. The smell started occurring about 4 months after he got the car. At first I thought the carpet must have gotten wet or there were smelly socks or a mouldy lunchbox in the backseat., but we soon worked out it was coming from the air-con (and only in the front seat - not the backseat). I have a 2010 Kluger KX-S and the air-con is fine. In my opinion, bad smell coming from the air-conditioning = germs. I will make sure he gets it checked out at the next service.

Hi, I am paying $580 p.a. for my 2010 Kluger KX-S with AAMI - Agreed Value $49,000. What you are paying sounds expensive to me. I have also only had my drivers licence for 4 years. You really have to shop around and make sure to carefully read the contract that you are signing. In Brisbane I found Suncorp and RACQ very expensive as well. There were a few cheaper insurers than AAMI, but from what I have heard they have a million small print clauses written into their contracts which basically give them an out when you try to make a claim.

Hi, today when I got out of my Kluger at the shopping centre and locked the car it made some sort of odd beeping noise that I haven't heard before. I checked to see if the doors had actually locked and they had so off I went. When I got back to the car I pressed the unlock button on the remote and opened the boot to load the groceries, meanwhile the kids got into the back seat and buckled up. When I went to get in the drivers side door it wouldn't open. I tried the remote a few more times but nothing happened - my door would not unlock. I opened the back doors, the boot and even the front passenger door, but the drivers side door would not unlock. I even got my son to climb into the front seat to try and unlock the door but it would not budge. I thought I was going to have to climb through the front passenger seat to drive home. Eventually after about half an hour of locking & unlocking the doors it finally opened. Anyone have any idea what happened?

They are not going to stop your car from getting scratched by other cars. But they are great for the kids to get in and out of the car. In my opinion the Kluger looks better with sidesteps than without.

My husband got the dealer to put the Alpine PKG-RSE2 into his Prado. It doesn't look 'after market'at all. It is a fantastic unit - great picture quality & sound. It came with 3 sets of wireless headphones. We don't even notice the kids are in the car with us anymore - except when you hear them giggling every now & then while they're watching a movie.

From what I can see the new Kluger facelift model numbers are for e.g. GSU40R MY11KX-S whereas the 2010 runout model number is just GSU40R KX-S.

I picked up my brand new Kluger KX-S about for weeks ago from the dealer and it had a full tank of petrol which I was surprised at. Put my Kluger in for a service and to have my nudge bar fitted last week and when I picked it up it had been washed, polished and fully detailed on the inside. Nice to see that good service is not a thing of the past!

Thanks - it's a big change from driving the RAV4! Your price sounds okay. What colour and accessories are you looking at getting?
