  1. Anyone who gets in my car has the same issue I've now made a habit of holding on to the door frame above the window as I'm getting out of the car, haven't had a zap in the last year :)
  2. Yeaahhhhhh don't really trust the Toyota guys much myself! Good luck on it and keep us posted! Might end up asking them to check it on my car too next time she's in! Thanks for the updates!!!!
  3. No idea but seems more like an ECU thing. I had a family car converted to LPG once and it ran low revs when cold, had to get it tuned to fix the issue. Also my rev estimates were way off. N ~850rpm D ~700rpm Could it be the VVTI issue that's well known on this forum?
  4. Yeah definitely fuel issue I reckon! About 70% less noise after 30mins+ on BP Ultimate.
  5. Yeah that's a normal drop though. Its like slipping the clutch in a manual with the handbrake on. 600-700rpm in N. 400-500rpm in D. I may have also found a pattern with the rough idle being more noticeable using E10 rather than my usual BP Ultimate. I will confirm this after my drive home in a couple of hours.
  6. I don't recall any suction noise. It's gradually been getting louder in the last 3months or so. Been a few road trips since then as I moved from Adelaide to Canberra. My car is at 92,000. (Mind you the last 15000km have been done in the last 3 months since moving.) Mine could also sound a bit louder 'cause I'm using a directional condenser mic to record it :( I can barely hear it if im in the car, unless it's a cold start, then it's pretty loud. (windows up, music off) There's also no loss in power, or any strange engine movement (if that helps!)
  7. That's mine, hmmm is yours the lower note noise? After a 15min drive.
  8. Hmm I think I'm having a similar issue. I'm going to upload a vid tonight, will post it in the morning. added: yours has a pretty deep throaty noise to it, mine doesn't have that. (uploading now)
  9. Is that from a cold start? If I get time I'll record mine (as its a bit noisier then when I first got the car) to compare the sound.
  10. Open the bonnet up with a camera phone recording while she's on. handbrake on move it from N to D so we can hear the difference.
  11. That's unfortunate mate. But try the suggested clay bar, they work a treat :) Also great for removing bug/tar stains on the front bumper!
  12. "Apparently" - From numerous sources. AKA, not reliable. Shell, Caltex, and a couple of others (7/11's, woolies etc) run out of a separate refinery than BP and Mobil. A family member worked in a chem lab at one of the refineries and said he would never buy fuel from the shell/caltex etc stations if he could avoid it (bad quality compared to the BP refinery) BUT that being said, it depends on the location. For example if there's a BP fuel station in the middle of nowhere, where surrounding towns are all shell/caltex, then chances are they're contracted fuel from Shell/Caltex, rather than from BP. So really ignore everything I just said, a lot of people say V Power is the go. A lot of people say BP Ultimate is the go. I'm a BP Ultimate man myself, but go test them out yourself. PS. The additives in the BP fuel are boss.
  13. I got a quote for a rear bumper non-painted from Toyota for $600. (I just ended up giving the scratch/scuff some TLC to fix it. looks 90%) I would definitely go wreckers or an after-market one.
  14. BP Ultimate, 36 psi in Canberra (high-altitude+Winter, does it make a difference?) Work commuting ~12km one way, about %50 80-90km/h the rest 40-60km/h. Manual calculation@ 9.3L/100km
  15. Thank you DJKOR, master of the all-distracting avatar. I swear it didn't take me 2minutes to read your sentence.
  16. Hey all, I have recently accidentally reversed into a pillar at the work car park on a bad day. Pillar was beside me, I reversed out and bang, the angle caused it to break the indicator glass and damage the frame, the mirror has also dislodged. So I've bought a replacement (entire door mirror assembly) from a wreckers for $80 and plan on replacing it myself. But a question, How do I remove the entire door mirror assembly thing? Tried looking through the FAQ and search but couldn't find anything. Your help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
  17. This has Aussie CUB written all over it!! Which as far as I can see means only good sales for ToyotaAUS, WTF are they doing?!?! I want one now! Gimme Black!
  18. Yep lodge an official complaint and ALSO (if you have a gmail account) put a mega negative review on the dealer's info link on google maps (as this is where most people find info on dealers)
  19. '10 Liberty GT or '10 ZR6.....

  20. Aurions are VERY cheap now, but they are ageing extremely well, the LED's and projector headlights as well as the styling is keeping it looking like a new'ish model car! But I agree, there seems to be some pre-conceptions regarding younger people driving this car. I bought mine for 20k ('08 SX6 with 66k k's on the clock.) Which was pretty good in my books. I had 15k saved up, took a 15k loan, used the rest of the money to pay for rego/license renewal/state transfer and paid the rest of the 15k loan off last week (3 years early YAY \o/) My family and friends thought I was crazy, being 19 when I bought this "fancy fast black car" but everyone grew to love it. There's something about this Aurion, this is the 2nd car I've owned (and the best car I've driven) but with my limited experience I've yet to find something that works better with life balance! I can drive business execs around for work. I can transport a tonne of gear in the boot and back seats. I can do the occasional spirited driving in the NSW hills. I 'probably could' get 1000k's of highway driving for road trips and I can easily transport 5 people on a comfortable trip.
  21. Happened to me heaps at first in the Aurion, get used to just being easy on the throttle. Also helps to let the Auto do it's little roll after letting the brakes go for a second before throttling.
  22. I'm impartial to DRL's... For example glorified commodores with DRL's just ***** me off. But the DRL's on the new Merc's and the Hyundia Velocitor look wicked (imo.) Otherwise I'd also like an update! Been watching this thread for a while :P
  23. Most snow chains I've seen are adjustable so would suit most sedans/small cars. I'm going to the snow early august and will be buying myself a pair before then!! (I'll go shopping next week.) Will let you know as they will most likely fit your car. Passing through/past Canberra by any chance?
  24. I would also suggest doing it yourself :) I usually pay people to do my car stuff for me (IT guy myself as well.) But the head unit is EXTREMELY simple!! For example: yellow plug in yellow hole, red plug in red hole, square plug in square hole...
  25. Can't this round unfortunately, will try to head up there for a meet sometime this year at least!! And if all else fails... I'll be there for the new year one (in the 86!)
