  1. Hey Siri, Welcome to the forums. I'm interested to know what you'll be attempting to do a 2GR-FZE conversion into. Wouldn't mind taking those wheels off of you either if you didn't want them
  2. Well I already have the 19mm rear sway and didnt really notice the difference I the step up, And I couldn't find anyone on the forums that has tried the 19mm and then stepped up the the 23mm for comparison.
  3. Umm... It's hard to say. On my Sportivo I had the front strut brace. Then when I bought the TRD I bought the sway bar and the rear side lower bar. So I didn't get a before and after for the sway bar and the lower bars. I just noticed that the car handled a big better. Nothing to go overboard about I guess. Have been wondering lately wether to step up to the 23mm rear swaybar.
  4. I know I do, It seems every time I make the booking I'd get a call from work to do another shift. It has happened 3 times now. Going to give them a call tomorrow to re-book it in again. The only thing is, the shaft has only just been replaced and it didn't fix the noise, so I don't see how this fix is going to change anything. We shall see, btw, thanks for your help
  5. Car looks mad Blake, I see it ripping through town all too often, Soon enough we might have to do a TOCAU photo shoot of all our Gladstone Cars, your mates white 86 included. Represent! :)
  6. Thanks for the appreciation guys. Thanks Defyant, that's exactly the direction I was headed for with this car. But unfortunately all visions take time to take action. To be perfectly honest I wasn't a fan of the rims when I first bought the car, I am not a fan of the whole chrome look. And I'm kicking myself for not taking the trd rims with the car originally. I have actually bought 4 cans of plasti dip to maybe paint the rims with but I'm not sure how the thin 5 spoke will look in a matte black, so I haven't brought myself to do it yet. So I'm trying to get the trd rims for it and maybe matte blacking the trd rims.
  7. I am currently rolling on a brand called altenzo. They are supposedly australian made and only make one design of tyre. They also specialize in low profile tires making them a cheap alternative to the khumos I was running. I have so far got great wear and tear from them, 20,000 kms so far on a TRD with little wear with good grip in wet and dry conditions. Cost me about $500 for all 4 tyres.
  8. Ive never noticed this problem myself, It looks to be coming from the oile bypass line from your supercharcher. i do know of other members that have installed a catch can in that vicinity when installing the K&N Air Intake. Perhaps pull off the pipe and check that there is not a build up of old oil in it causing a blockage.
  9. Hi guys, I have never made an introduction on these forums, i have been a proud owner of 2 Toyota Aurion's. My 1st one was a 2008 Toyota Aurion Sportivo ZR6 in tungsten. I purchased this car late 2010 and sold in only about a month ago now. My second Aurion is a 2008 TRD Aurion 3500SL, Build Number 515. I purchased my baby in July last year (Almost 12 months now) and i thought it was about time for me to post my new ride on the forums. When i found my TRD on carsales, the vehicle only had 23,000 Kms on it, which for a car that was 5 years old at the time i thought was great. After contacting the previous owner, i found out that he owned a car audio store down in NSW which specialised in Alpine stereo's and after he mentioned that the car already had a full Alpine stereo install which he was going to leave in the car, well lets just say that i was sold and was down there within the month picking my car up for $35,000. That was top price for a TRD Aurion at the time but for a car that i didnt have to spend money on a stereo for, and only had 23,000 kms on the clock i was happy to fork out top dollar for it. My current modifications include: Suspension: - Ultra Racing Front Strut Brace. - Ultra Racing Rear Sway Bar (19mm) - Ultra Racing Rear Lower Side Bar (4 Point) Stereo: - Alpine 7" 2DIN DVD/Sat Nav Head Unit. - Alpine 4 Channel PDX 4.150 - Alpine 10" Type R Subwoofer - JL Audio splits in the front Performance: - K&N Ram Air Intake with Red Filter Wrap Cosmetic Modifications: - 19" Chrome Alloy Wheels (Came with the car when i purchased it, and going to chase down previous owner to see if he still has the original TRD Wheels) - Mars Performance Clear LED Taillights - Plasti Dipped badges on the rear - Blue LED Touch Sensitive Gear Knob - Blue LED Interior Light and in the doors and white LED in the map lights and in the boot. - 35w 5000K HID Upgraded Headlights - TRD Oil Cap - Personalised Number Plates (TRD-515) My Future Modifications / Wish List (We all have one.. lol) - 9" LED Light Bar (I dont believe in putting spotties on a sedan, just doesnt look right) - HID High Beams (Depending on how much light i get from the LED Light Bar) - Original TRD Wheels (Depending on if original owner still has them and if he can part with them for the right price) - A slight tint on the tail lights. I'm not looking for a full midnight look you get from nightshades, just a shade or two darker than the chrome look they have now. - Taking my interior apart and Plasti Dipping the grey parts of the Fascia.
  10. And that, Brad, is exactly why I bought myself a ZR6 2 years ago at 19, and as of last month have just bought myself a TRD. Best decision ever. Btw, ZR6 still for sale so I'm a bit in debt ATM :)
  11. Hey guys, Could find anything in the forums so I just thought I'd share a find. I already have purchased myself a front bar and have wanted the rear sway bar upgrade for sometime now. Upon looking at the UR site I noticed that they had an extra addition to the range since te last time I looked, called a "Rear Side Lower Bar (4 points)" I had read the problems that the front lower bar (4 points) has posed for people in the past but it looks like this one sits up under the cars exhaust hence there wouldn't be a problem with scraping. And might prove some use with the handling etc. Just thought I'd grab you guy's thoughts. Here's the link: http://www.ultraracingaustralia.com.au/index.php?categoryid=15&p2_articleid=28
  12. I have the mars performance clear lights in my ZR6. They may be pricey but don't get a quote for oem tail lights from Toyota. From memory the piece that goes on the boot lid is 400 a pop and the other piece is 300 each. Btw my ZR6 is 2008. Even though the mars website states that they will only fit on the 09+ facelift models only. Exact same tail lights, not sure about the headlights though, am looking at maybe getting the angel eyes.
  13. I would like to take mine off and add a weight to it somehow.. I've noticed that throwing my wallet on it on long road trips will shut it up.
  14. I went out about 2 months ago and bought myself some clear tail lights so i now have the original Sportivo ones sitting at home.. Was trying to figure out wether i should put them on ebay or something.. I am sure you and i could work something out..
  15. And i hear you DJKOR, But then that begs the question, why didnt you get the red TRD? or did you want to step up to the SL to get all the gizmos that come in the ZR6? I personally have a ZR6 and dont think i could have stood not having all the gizmo's. I still want my silver TRD as soon as my liscence will permit but now that the FT-86 is 15 days away from being revieled i think a change of heart might be coming..
  16. Yeah they do dont they, But the ones from Mars Performance dont have the red reflector in them, From the side, did the blue reflector clash with the colour of the red?
  17. Mate, Even i want some snaps of the new look :) For the past 4 motnhs ive been meaning to take some photo's of my car, but i'm either finishing work too late and it gets too dark to take a good photo, i get busy on the weekends, and when i do get a chance, i dont want to take the photo because i then need to wash the car, and when i get around to washing it, it takes a couple of hours alone to fully clean it. Trust me, when i get snaps, so will you :) i will try to get soimething tonight / tomorrow.
  18. Hi, About 2 months ago i purchased the MARS Performance ones off ebay, The postage actually ended up cheaper from Ebay. I was hesitant for about 6 months because on the site they say only fits facelift model, and there are a few Q&A from people asking about 06-09 model. In the end i said bugger it and ordered them. They are awesome and i love mine, just take note of 1 thing, they are not identical to the Clear ones on the facelift models, the facelift ones are completely clear, The Mars Performance tail lights actually have a blue tinge to some of the reflective bits, i have a tungsten Sportivo and the colour matcxhes the Tungsten really well, But not so sure about other colours (Red, Green) Also, Be prepared to remove your back bumper! The boot lit lights are easy enough to replace but the corner tail lights have a massive hook underneath them, I eventually figured this out and since i have never removed a back bumper off of a car, and since i have reverse sensors, i thought it was best left to a pro. Toyota charged me $100 on a saturday morning an hour before they closed and i came back like 30 minutes late to have it sitting already finished in the yard. Hope this helps.
  19. Might be a little late to reply. I got my 19's about 6 months ago and got F*cked around with them.. the tyres they said go with my car were 245/40. After fitting i noticed they were scuffing REALLY bad in the back and i went back and got told that i needed to get my guard rolled, i said this didnt sound right and that i think the correct tyre size was 245/35 as this is what the TRD model has, he told me to maintain the rolling cercumference he needed the 40 profile, I got my guards rolled and now this created a bit of a shrp lip under my guard, which tore up the rubber even worse! Went back to the tyre bloke and then i got told my suspension must be stuffed. I asked is it possible i have the wrong tyre size or the wrong offset rims and he said no. so i went to a suspension mob who told me my suspension is fine, The tyre dude eventually told me which offset i got, which was +35, stock it is +45 so i demanded new rims and tyres since the old ones were torn up from scrubbing. I ordered a +45 rims with a 245/35 tire then a +38 rim turned up with new tyres, after an argument he promised me that the +35 shouldnt have hit and so he promises me to let him try the +38 on the car for freee and if they dont hit he will give them to me for the same price as i had already payed. Luckily they do not hit. So all in all, To anyone looking to get 19" rims, 40 profile with a +35 offset rim is a bad combination, On the note of tyres.. I currently am riding Khumo KU31 and they get really bad mileage, (i live in Roundabout hell), and so next im going to take your advice and try the Federal 595.
