  1. Come to think of it, my bluetooth was crap on my original unit and it was replaced under warranty. I reckon the replaced units are probably surfacing on ebay and maybe at some markets, so I'd be inclined to go for the non OEM units. That way, you would have some warranty should something go wrong.
  2. Keep an eye on ebay. There are OEM and non OEM units on all the time. Some of the non OEM sellers have installers they use in each state.

    KX-R 17" Tyres

I got 60000 kays out of my original tyres and got 3 new ones fitted by my dealer during the 60k service for $295 each. They hadn't rotated the spare, so thats why I only needed 3. The tyres were the Dunlop grandtrek ST30's.
  4. I had my unit changed cos the bluetooth was crap. No one could understand me over 60 kph. The new one doesn't have the problem anymore. Never had a problem playing cd's tho.
  5. Contact the office of fair trading. They'll tell you what your rights are. If you are entitled to the car as advertised, you can go to the dealer with backup and demand the 6 stacker. Just tell them you wouldn't have paid what you did if you knew it had a lower spec radio. Don't give up and keep us posted!
  6. If the car was advertised with a 6 stacker, then the dealer has to provide you with the advertised unit - they don't get a choice. If it's only in the specs in the manual that it says its a 6 stacker then I doubt you will be able to get anywhere with the dealer. If you still have a copy of the ad (if there was one) check it and if it's in there, you can go back and the dealer will have to fix it. You can track down the previous owner and find out if they changed it over. Even if they did, if the ad said it was a 6 stacker, they have to fit one. Hope you can solve the mystery. Good luck.
  7. I called the dealer who is replacing the radio to ask how much it would cost to upgrade to the unit with the inbuilt GPS and was told it would be $4000. :o
  8. The main gripe I have is that the speedo is so far out. I did complain, but was told that it falls within ADR specs, so thats the end of that. The other problem i have had is with the bluetooth for my phone. I have a KX-R and upgraded the radio so that i would have bluetooth and got the 6 stacker unit. Everyone i talk to on the phone says they can barely understand me when i'm travelling over about 50 kph. I brought it up at my last service and toyota are replacing the unit and I'm waiting for the phone call to tell me they have it. Other than that, I love it and have had no trouble. I have done 50000 kms in just over a year.
