  1. Hi Guys, I have been making a few posts over the last few days so I thought I better quickly introduce myself. I am living in Sydney and currently driving a 91 Sera. I bought it about a year ago as a bit of a project, but like all great plans, I never have enough time to do what I want to do. It has had a 4E-FTE engine and manual gearbox put in and is currently sporting a body kit which is kinda **** and will be replaced when I finally give it a respray (last job on the wish list). I am certainly not a mechanic, but I have a mechanical mind and I love to learn by doing things and doing most repair/maintenance work on the cars & bikes I have owned in the past is where all of my engine knowledge comes from. This is my first turbo engine so it has been a fun new experience to learn some extra things. The one downside to learning this way is that I might not know the proper names of things that I am talking about, so if you read a rambling post of mine trying to explain what I am talking about, please help me out. :D Also, thanks to everyone that posts in this forum. I have already gotten a few answers and picked up some great tips just from reading about other peoples projects. P.S. Does anyone know the best place to buy high temp paint in Sydney? I am planning on cleaning up the engine bay and spraying my valve cover soon. I am out near Alexandria.
  2. Hi Hiace Reviver, I have always wanted to setup my own campervan and go travelling. Make sure you post up pics of you ride so we can live vicariously through you
  3. Hi Guys, Sorry but I wont be able to make it. My aircon is having major issues and spending a hot summers day driving around in a glass bubble with no aircon is not really desirable. Hopefully there will be another cruise not too far into the future that I can take part in! 1.BG PETE 2.GTL05T 3.JV11NL (your coming john) hahaha! 4.JAYLAH (maybe) 5.M.C (maybe) 6.Seby123 with a non-toyota driving friend 7.RonnyBoy (Maybe) 8.sikwitit 9.DemonRolla (maybe) 10. 4. I grew up in the Southern Highlands, then lived in Wollongong for a few years and now I live in Sydney. Seeing as this cruise seems to be following my life in reverse you can count me in as a maybe (80% that I can come at this stage) 1.BG PETE 2.GTL05T 3.JV11NL (your coming john) hahaha! 4.JAYLAH (maybe) 5.M.C (maybe) 6.Seby123 (if at 30th) 7.RonnyBoy (Maybe) 8.sikwitit 9.DemonRolla (maybe) 10. My Sera

1991 Toyota Sera with 4E-FTE and manual gearbox.
  6. Good luck with it! I am currently looking at fixing mine up. It already has turbo engine and manual gearbox put in and an xracing body kit bolted on but it could do with tidying up and a respray on the outside and it still has its all original interior which looks as though it has not had an easy life so it will be a bit of a project to have it looking at its prime. If you happen to find any good places to order parts or need to know if I have found a certain part you need let me know.
  7. Nice work. I recognise the XRacing front and rear kit. Where did you get the wing from? Does it lift with the rear glass or is it fixed to the body? Did you have to get any of your interior parts replaced and if so can you recomend a supplier? Sorry for all of the questions but my Sera has been running a nice engine in an old shell and I have finally started doing some body work on it and any advice you can give is appreciated.
  8. Hi Cosmo, From the description it sounds like it could be a bargain at the price, especially if you are after a large amount of parts *IF* they are in running order. If you want to buy it to fix up then be aware that it will cost a bit and make sure that the simple but all important things are in full working order such as the Air-Con! Without it the summer in a glass bubble is hell. I had to track down a new evaperator for mine and it was a pain in the **** and went missing while being shipped from Japan. It was presumed dead but then turned up a few months later and now I haven't had the time to replace it myself (big job) or the spare funds to pay someone else to do it. The moral of the story is that you have to remember that it is a 20 year old car that started its life in another country and has probably had a few owners thrashing it a bit so have it properly checked out so you are not stung by the extra costs of having a nice car that you can be proud of. Let me know if you end up getting a Sera. They are a great car to drive and always turn heads.
