2. I have searched the web to see how to replace auto shifter light bulb but I can’t find any complete video or images for this job. Anyway, I have managed to grasp some basic knowledge from the internet and have attempted to try this out by myself. Fingers crossed, I did it and thought here is the best place to share this information with you guys. Part and Tools require: 1. T5/194 bulb 2. Phillips screwdriver 3. Plastic Trim tool or flat screwdriver 4. 10mm socket 5. Socket extension (optional for screws inside the compartment storage) Here are the few steps require: 1. Detach the auto shift bezel, using a plastic trim tool or flat screwdriver then disconnect the power source connector. 2. Remove the rear console together with the armrest in one piece. You need to remove two mounting 10mm screws inside the rear storage compartment and four screws securing the front portion of the console. (pictures attached) 3. Now you should have the full access to the auto shift light bulb to do the job. (pictures attached) I hope this will help any Corolla owners to replace or upgrade their auto shift light.
3. That's right. I have these sills without the LED lights fitted on the top of the orignal plastic plates with double sided tape.
4. Are you sure I can try your cluster? I live in south east Melbourne. Which part of Victoria you in?
5. Thanks for your response. Will I get the JDM speedometer feature on my Ascent? Light up itself when the ignition is on and dim itself when the sidelight is on. Just want to ensure this feature is available after replaced the speedometer, if not you can't really see speedometer during daylight.
6. I am looking to replace my existing boring speedometer with white face to a JDM speedometer with black face. This black face speedometer also used in Levin model and it is completely dark when the ignition is off. As soon as the ignition is on, the speedometer will light up itself and dim itself when sidelight is on. My existing speedometer doesn't has this feature, does anyone know whether the Ascent model will be compatible with JDM speedometer?
7. Just installed the H7R hid kit with 5000k. Here are some pictures. You can look at the hid bulb directly, no problem with blurring on coming cars.
8. I found this related thread for you. http://au.toyotaowne...nal-light-bulb/
9. You must get a HID kit specific for H4 bulbs. H4 bulb is for low & high beam, that why your headlight connectors have 3 wires.
10. Get the media power involved if you aren't getting the satisfied results. I am sure ACA or Today Tonight will be interested to hear from you. You should report this incident to Toyota Australia as well, this kind of dealer should be off the market.
11. You don't normally see this type car TV commercial in Australia. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLGj6iSZvak&NR=1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDU5W7Zqeko&NR=1
12. Spotted a blue TRD Aurion park at Monash University Clayton Campus every morning.
13. Very thoughtful. Always read the product instructions first and if still unsure try on a small area for testing.
14. I use Autosol Metal Polish to polish all the chrome bits.
15. For installation by professional then Philips kit at Autobarn is the best option at the moment, For DIY, you can try lasertip method, if you want the automatic on/off switch go to german ebay site, you could pick up one at quite a reasonable price.
16. I went to my local council tip to dump the engile oil FOC if under 10 litres. Ring up your local council, they will tell you where to go. Thanks, that is very useful A stupid question here, where do you dispose the used engine oil. I cannot just chuck to the rubbish bin on the street, that's not right
17. Just chanced upon a german ebay seller. Based on my vast window shopping, I can say that his products are very well priced. BTW he sells hella LEDay and philips daylight as well. Best prices with low shipping costs. Just thought that anyone might want to check there =) http://stores.ebay.de/Auto-Lamp24 I sourced my DRL from german ebay sellers. They have better products with very reasonable price. You just have to shop around and look for a better deal.
18. This video clip is 10 mins long, you could drag to 6.00 for immediate action.
19. Given the condition of her car, will it leads to being unroadworthy?
20. They do mentioned that so far they have only tested for 2010 Porsche Cayman, 2010 Volkswagen GTi, 2008 BMW 335i, 2009 Audi TT and all work. However, for some cars, the Automatic DRL switch might only light up for 10 sec and shuts off, in this case, you can return this product for a full refund. Look like it only works on late German made cars. So what are you going to do next? So, I got this and it finally came in. Turns out that they don't work with the Aurion :( The module switches on when it detects fluctuations in the alternator. When I installed it, it turned on for around 10secs then powered down. I suppose it means that the aurion alternator produces a very stable current, which is why this knockoff of the philips DRL isn't sensitive enough to detect the small voltage fluctuations.
21. Good explanation! Credit to both of you. (Kenshin X & Lateralus)
22. really? i thought if u are one of their nominated drivers, the discounts are passed on to u. My understanding is the discount should be passed on to the policy holder. Can someone confirm that? I don't aware you can actually nominate who you want the discount to be passed on.
23. If you are going to get the reverse camera from ebay, get those that support PAL & NTSC. Australia is using PAL broadcast system for TV, my bet will be the same for video display unit. Once you get your car, you can check your manual to confirm that. I recently bought a headunit with TV tuner from ebay that can support PAL & NTSC. The HU will automatically switch between PAL & NTSC depends on broadcasting signal. I hope your HU does the same.
24. We can get the lowest price If we buy the ballast & HID bulb separately. Here is just an example that I pick from ebay.
