  1. Don't waste your time on SRI, just go the CAI.

I have both, and the SRI just gives you the sound, the only way for the SRI to perform anywhere close to an CAI is to completely box the whole thing and run a duct to the front completely sealed.

I laugh at people when they place a duct in front of the podfilter and say that it makes a noticeble difference <_<

On an auto 1zz the SRI made squat all difference besides more noise. The CAI worked well at higher speeds (65km/h +)

  2. Do a search plenty have been discussed and mostly discussed only.

Turbo or S/C it all comes down mainly to your tune and what quality parts you are using.

S/C you could try sourcing the kits, but even then they are mostly all discontinued I believe.

Not many people can give you an opinion cause not many people have a s/c zze123 corolla....

Remember to search before proceeding any further

  3. Hope to see you there on the track.

You will one day I'm sure

Loved your R32 mate, couldn't really hear it through all the noise my car makes.

Great to meet some of your guys there, although our fun was cut short, I suppose we did have a relatively good turn out.

Saiya: You got to learn how to use your new camera properly, once you do it will take awesome pics I tell you :toast:

  4. Couldn't be bothered going through the thread as it appears that everyone has differing opinions, so I may as well add mine too.

If you want comfort with some increase in handling for the suspension department I would go (in the following order)

    Rear Sway Bar

    Front Strut Bar

    Front Sway Bar

Koni Adjustable shocks + Stock Springs

+King Spring lows if you want a lowered stance

or IF YOU REALLY WANT IT

Coilovers + a nice firm but soft pillow

    For the Engine

CAI (don't bother with an SRI unless you just want the sound, and even then it doesn't sound that good)

    Nice synthetic fluid for all

    Interior

Nice heavy gear knob (400g+) and you'll remove most of the sticky/notchiness + TRD SS

I have tein coilovers but even on the softest settings they are quite stiff on the road, I'm looking at a Koni + Eibach combo at the moment.

    ALSO

Your wasting your time if you think a K&N filter will give you any kind of extra power. The pressure drop across the filter is so minimal with the stock filter. Having said that I have a K&N filter as well!!

  5. Hunt does have ball skills, but I don't think it was on display.

He was playing more like another forward, well kinda like the modern five-eighth which is kinda like having an extra forward.

QLD just had no sense of direction and they kind of just lacked composure. They are so missing Darren Lockyer last night.

  6. The question I would like to ask you is....

Is it necessary to go up to the corolla??

I don't think resale value is any good in the corolla as there is so many 2nd hand ones for sale

If its your only car then a corolla for the extra room and practicality, if its mainly to commute to and from work then just get the yaris.

  7. just so u r all aware the destination looks like being a look out up the mountains out west.

definately gonna be a good trip.

ill be in group 1 thanx. anone driving a non sportivo can join group 2. :whistling:

ok you should have said anyone driving a non modified non sportivo join group 2 because i dont think i am classed as a standard 1zz   :spiteful::ph34r:

i think the guys who have been in the ninja or seen it in action can back me up on that :yahoo:

Since we are going up the hill you'll be one of the few exceptions to beat the boys in the sportivo

  8. I haven't had experience with the Koni's and King springs but I believe they would be good for the street, better then coilovers IMO.

I have recently been changing light bulbs for my brothers Subaru Liberty B4 and that thing is awesome around the corners on the street!! Its standard too, only thing is that although being standard they use Bilstein shock/spring combo!!

  9. If your running a sub at the back then its best that you do the boot as well. The best way for the sub to face is towards the hatch (i.e. away from the driver). So doing the boot should be good.

I'm going to do my boot this weekend hopefully as everytime I close the boot it sounds like a tin can, its getting annoying.
