While we are on the S/C topic, I finally laid my eyes on a TRD Aurion going onto the motorway.
Looks quite 'manly' if you ask me. Dunno about performance cause it had a car in front of it.

Its easy to say that modern day turbos provide really good response which is true.
Only problem with the sportivo and the addition of the turbo is the power band.........the thing revs to 8K rpm, your turbo selection does become slightly limited. Have to look at efficiency and stuff, and if your looking at adding a turbo to the 2zzge then a new turbo is on the list, forget about anything from another car

You get use to the power, my friends that drive 'normal' cars are still in awe when 'lift' kicks in. I'm hoping the PFC will give me the same effect as say adding a CAI.
-
DANZZT231 is right though, if you have a spare hundred or two invest in an CAI. For me personally it provided the biggest difference in low-mid range torque. Exhaust doesn't seem to give as much a gain compared to the CAI. After the CAI my car's third gear provided much more pulling power compared to before, my exact response was "Sh!t!!"
CES CAI
2.5" Catback Exhaust
Ported Headers
Eibach Valve Springs
Supertech Valves
Piper Stg2/3 Cams (in your case I would go with stg 2 as your not comfortable with high revving engine)
PFC

Its a 1.8L N/A 4 pottter
You expect it to have mountains of torque and power, get real mate.
I find that changing gears at around 3.5krpm normally keeps me ahead of traffic, so I dunno about you.
And its a V8 commo, if its gen3 then its hard to keep up if he gunned it.

Essential
1 x Good quality 6 point socket
1 x breaker bar
Optional
Extension pipe
If that doesn't get it off then I don't know what will, could try using a hammer and tap the end of the breaker bar to 'crack' it first.

2.5" no cat off road pipe.....just waiting for a big fine to be posted to your home.

He drives an auto corolla..............with a TRD supercharger bolted on to it!!
I dunno how you guys work it out but lately I'm getting about 410kms per half tank, which for me translates to roughly 7.6L/100km.
I drive on the freeway most of the time, its good to get good fuel economy, but then again I'm also paying about $40 a week in toll expenses.

There is only one way to find out

Not enough people this time around unfortunately
Heading to pittwater/hawksbury with a couple of friends and going to hunt for fish in a tinny

I'll get a youtube clip of my car with the revs. I think greyrolla has a youtube clip on the S10 already online. But I'll get mine up and see if the 2.5" makes any difference to the overall sound.

intakes or filters??
I believe that they mention that their intakes provide a gain of up to 14%, and that would probably been done on a turbo car with a crappy intake system....
-
Not noisy at all, nice deep sound. Drones a little when I'm on the highway doing 105-110km. But since I take the M7 I'm usually at 100km/h. Generally if your cruising its almost like stock.
2.5" catback with a quite a big resonator. Only problem is that at around 4.5krpm my CES CAI completely drowns it out and takes over. So I'm happy that I still have my intake sound, as I think its more sexier!!
In the beginning I didn't like it because it appeared to be too loud in the cabin, but after about a week it became either quieter or I got use to it.
-
I just had 2.5" catback with a S10 twinloop put in. No difference in power until 3.5kpm where it pulls and keeps pulling until you hit lift and it tells you that it was all worth it.

Nothing at South Windsor at the moment, but I don't like the chances. Any one that is closer to WSID to give us a more accurate weather report?

A bit hard to describe riding/feathering the clutch.
Something a bit more simpler
Clutch dump launch
1. Rev to 4500-5000rpm with clutch pedal in
2. Release clutch pedal by side stepping it
3. Gas pedal to the floor
Don't do it too often though

The only question I have to ask you is
Does the problem happen very frequently at all??
I've had my sportivo shut down on me on the way home before, while still in motion. Just started back up and off I went.
Problem never occurred again, so don't worry too much.
Now if its a problem that happens frequently then thats different.
-
If you find its overheating and not grabbing, then don't ride it too long or get a HD clutch :D
-
The reason for me wanting it is because I'll get more out of it than I ever will with the Sportivo, especially when it comes to bang for buck.
Not fuel economy you won't :D
Nah, the S15 is a good, if not great car for modding. RWD, good balance and a good engine to start modding as well.
You have to pay alot to be different, just like cosmetic surgery.
I've been doing alot of thinking too, but the practicality of the 5 door hatch is what I like, not to mention that I like hatchbacks more. I could get a WRX...

Hows the 23rd of February sound to you guys?
Its on a saturday and apparantly there will be a monthly meet going on as that would be the last saturday for the month.
Opinions are welcome as to where we would fish and it would be good to know whereabouts everyone is from (not too detailed though), so we could possibly find a suitable location and try to get everyone on board.

Well you can go out and give it a try now as you should be working around those rpms. Different cars with different mods will be launching at different rpms, although I don't expect it to vary too much. I would say around 4-5K rpm would be alright, might spin and axel tramp a bit.
Just does not feel right, powers?
