  1. I run a flush on my engine every now and again....really depends....if I keep my oil changes at regular intervals then no....its usually when its left for a tad too long :(
  2. Waiting for Xoom's reply....this should be interesting At the end of the day you just got to be happy with it... I prefer my Corolla over the forester XT, although the forester is the more lazy car...which is kinda why I've slowed down the collection of parts on the corolla
  3. Not collecting too many things.........namely missing a suitable turbo, dump pipe and some plumbing, also need a tune of course
  4. Based on your car, I would go in the following order E153 Manifold then Cams Given that your already on stage 2s, an upgrade to stage 3s made not be that much. But then again, can't you just dial up the boost a little bit more I'm still collecting parts *sigh*
  5. Apexi Power FC will set you back around about $2500 I think, installed and tuned. Is your car stock by any chance? Sounds a bit muted thats all...
  6. So all that they are doing is running a finer filtration system in parallel to the one that is currently on the engine??? The way that I see is: Finer filter in parallel with the current oil filter How do you regulate the flow between the two filters if its in parallel? With a finer filter you will experience faster increased differential pressure? I sound sceptical because I am bypass filtration?? are we not using another filter and bypassing the primary one?? Was about to spam that you were affliated with them , and seeing that you've done some R&D before....all I'm interested in is answers.
  7. How much did you end up using Guni? Need to get mine wrapped as its a little scratched in a few places...
  8. tein superwagon springs will only fit the coilovers. The Tein springs you are referring to are the H-Tech and S-Tech
  9. Toyo Proxes? Which one?? 4, S/T II, ST, T1R, R1R?? Given the quoted price I think they are offering you the ST range, would be a bargain if it was the 4. My experience with T1R was short, cause they didn't last too long themselves, alot of grip though.
  10. Don't know about you, but that is one very very ugly.........centre console with the green lights. Need to be changed to RED LEDs ASAP!! lol Bargin buy at that price!! Good luck with the car.........and you should of bought the TRD suspension, that is another bargain buy.
  11. Is it muffler only?? If it is, I wouldn't expect it to be loud......if you went the whole 2.5" catback then it maybe a little loud...
  12. you do know there is a Blitz kit in the FS section...
  13. If you want more torque down low then don't bother with the CAI. If you want more power up top and heaps of noise then a CAI is the way to got. I would probably just get the header ported and call it a day...but then again look at my signature...I'm missing ported header, which will soon be listed as well
  14. If your happy with them then by all means I suppose. I had a set on and didn't like them, ended up with Koni shocks and at the moment some lowered springs....
  15. Didn't think so as well, I knew that the UK T-sports had a height reduction in the facelift versions. oh well Thanks anyway.
  16. Is there any difference between the springs of the pre-facelift and facelift for the corolla sportivos? Regardring ride height that is...
  17. its always about balancing your needs and wants :D Some people have it all though :(
  18. Your both right in the aspect that it should be larger, but how large?? around 1mm to the exhaust ports sounds good to me, too large a port and you will drastically increase the turbulances due to a larger step change. I think CHA54 is saying that the gasket is too large in this instance compared to the exhaust ports....
  19. Maybe king springs low, that should set you around $450 installed including alignment, or your could DIY ;) Personally I preferred the stock suspension over just king springs only, or springs + shocks (which at this stage is outta your budget). If you don't want to sacrifice comfort whatsoever, then rear sways bars followed by a front sway bar, strut bar doesn't add too much of an effect. I wouldn't recommend coilovers but everyone to their own.
  20. Don't know if this would help or not, but lately I've been trying to look for Eibach Pro kit springs for my sportivo. The thing is that the part number for the E12(zzE12#) corollas and the USDM corollas of the same year have different part numbers, so I'm not sure whether the part numbers have just been changed for some reason or they are in actual fact completely different parts. Maybe SD can shed some light on this matter as he appears to be the parts interpreter on this forum.
  21. Unlucky to have been caught, but fortunate that your charges have been downgraded...hope you've learnt your lesson mate, its tempting though when driving a car with lift/vtec...
  22. From my experience an SRI provided better throttle response, and no percieved increases in power. When I installed my CAI, I was impressed by the amount of torque I gained with it all over the place, including downlow, as long as my car is still moving I usually keep it in third gear and it pulls out no problems. I cannot comment on other types of CAI, since I only have experience with the CES one. But lets not bring the CES vs ALL debate into it again. Another thing to note, is that once your car is moving (40+km/h) the air outide and in the engine bay is the same...so if your in alot of stop start traffic, then maybe a SRI is not a good idea...
  23. I don't imagine it would cost that much to spray a hood/bonnet, probably about $400...but was told by a few smash repairers that if you want it to blend in nicely it usually means painting the two front fenders as well as the front bumper bar. If you will be spraying with a non metallic paint then you might be able to get away with only the bonnet, with metallic's it maybe a little bit more tricky I believe.
  24. I'm running into similiar problems only recently, but I've tried changing different set of lowered springs before and the sound is still there. I've checked everything else already, even went as far as installing new rear axle beam bushes (from energy suspension). Will be putting back stock spings and see how I go with them.
