  1. That's right - it is hard to come to a complete stop in that 50m before collision... you had more than 5 seconds to react... I'm assuming you were traveling at highway speed which is 100km/h... you needed to start braking at least 5 seconds earlier in which I could clearly see that the vehicle was intending to change lanes and was held up due to the slow flow of traffic in front... We may not always like it but at the end of the day like my father always said when he taught me to drive, "You're not just driving for yourself. You're driving for everyone else on the road too." To that end, I have only ever been involved in 1 accident that was my fault and was that minor that it was the same amount as the excess basically, which for an over 25 driver in a 1.3L Yaris isn't much... 1 accident in 14 years... and even then he started to move into traffic and then decided to stop... I'm sorry, that was poor judgement, and it is people like you that lack the basic driving skills and appropriate knowledge of road etiquette to which we owe much insurance inflation and vast amounts of time wasted waiting for accidents to clear... You caused the accident and you should be charged with reckless driving...
  2. Is this car still for sale? I am very interested...
  3. I definitely think the problem is with ur tyre pressures
  4. You need to put about 36-40PSI front and rear despite what the manual or tyre pressure chart says as this is standard for Japanese roads (where the car is made) where the roads are much smoother.
  5. buy new seals and be done with it.... i hate these pointless threads... "something's broken - should I fix it?" seriously - WTF?!
  6. solution - buy new parts and install... if unable to install pay someone else to install them for you... preferably a professional qualified to do so... you say the body work is perfect but has no paint (practically)... just makes it easier to sand back and paint... good luck :)
  7. This is not meant to offend you in any way, but people like you really annoy me... I am a used car salesman. 1st of all the people that inspect cars at RACV (RACQ in QLD) and most of the roadside assist guys these days are not qualified mechanics. So your first problem is you paid $200 to someone who doesn't know anything about cars to tell you what was right / wrong with it... this is a fact... I work in the industry and I know what these people are like... so for starters you ripped yourself off by going to RACV... 2nd of all - the dealer would have supplied you with a PPSR (previously REVS) check when you purchased the vehicle guaranteeing you and proving clear title of the vehicle. This PPSR check shows any financial encumbrance on the vehicle as well as whether or not it has been written off or stolen. Minor accidents do not show up on this, but major accidents do. They effectively have done the right thing in the sense that this is correct - the vehicle hasn't been involved in any major accidents. If the RACV guy is going off the fact that there is paint imperfections as an indication that it has been in a serious accident then he is just proving how much of a twit these guys are... The dealer more than likely had a few rough spots touched up to make the vehicle look better and assist it in selling - this is known as "reconditioning"... you should be greatful he bothered at all especially on a $5K car... 3rd of all - you get what you pay for... Do you honestly expect a $200 warranty to cover you for anything? If you are within 1 months of purchasing the car then the clutch should be covered under statutory warranty... If not then thems the brakes and that's the law... the statutory warranty for the vehicle you have purchased is 1 month or 1000km, whichever comes first, and I'm pretty sure that the $200 warranty you bought isn't going to cover the installation of a new clutch... From the sounds of it the dealer has done everything correctly and above board... you were just too ignorant to read the fine print or listen to what they were saying and now you are trying to blame everyone but yourself for the situation you have gotten yourself into... you are buying / have bought a sub $10K car and by the sounds of it expect the service you would get buying a brand new $40K car... it's not going to happen - end of story... fix the clutch, cut ur losses and get over it because nobody has done anything wrong by you... if ur lucky some of the cost of the clutch may be covered by your crap $200 warranty, but i doubt it...
  8. Fuel consumption is pretty much irrelevant these days... If you are really concerned about consumption - ride a push bike everywhere... that being said there are many things that influence fuel economy and the quickness of people to blame the car irritates me... Driving tired, or stressed, how much of a lead foot you are, quality of the fuel (and not just the type i.e. 95RON, 98RON etc... but where you filled up, the brand and the quality of that particular delivery from the manufacturer), air con, highway vs. urban driving, auto vs manual... it's all relative... also bare in mind E10 fuel is nasty and cheap and because it contains 10% ethanol (which burns faster) then you are going to burn through your fuel faster and get worse fuel economy... I'll happily put E10 in the work car all day long but if anyone ever put E10 within 20cm of my fuel tank on my personal car I'd knock them the hell out... My advice - stop using E10 and put at least 95RON Premium in... you will get better milage, your car will run better and your fuel gauge won't drop as fast...
  9. also bearing in mind that they don't actually sell the Aurion badged as an Aurion in the states but rather the V6 Camry, or the Camry Prestige as it is also known. If it resembles anything like what the camry looks like then I'd say it would be more likely that they have rebadged the Aurion and made cosmetic changes as opposed to shoe-horning a 2GR into a Camry...
  10. you don't need new key blades... if you want genuine you have to pay genuine money, otherwise for about $80 - $100 you can get one from a locksmith and just transfer the guts over... the trick would be to get it tuned to the car so you'd be looking about $60 each one so yeah, $150 for non genuine seems about right...
  11. Mechanic first to see if its an easy fix or not... could be altenator or relay by the sounds... try the mechanic's first as their labour is cheaper than an auto sparky...
  12. Yay - if he comes we'll have our own "Rape 4" hehehe... then we can pit against the other Rape 4 in a contest to the death! My plan is finally coming together... MUAHAHAHA... errrr... I mean - Hey dude, you should come to the meet sometime :P
  13. They're all lying - nobody cares... they are trolling you... lmao... jk... nice car mate :D
  14. lol... well i don't know the engines... twas a suggestion as to what it COULD be...
