  1. i have seen an aftermarket kit fitted to the same vehicle, the speed sensor was mounted to pick up from the drive shaft and it had a second cable fitted for the throttle.
  2. i have swapped ECUs from plant engine but i would touch a car ecu from another country, also some ECUs are linked via vin/chasiss number. if you swap one from another vehicle the whole system shuts down.
  3. there around 350 fitted in sydney.
  4. Remeber if you only have 3rd party porperty insurance and someone hits you they will pay and chase the person at fault.
  5. I had a trimmer do mine, took about half a day and cost $200.
  6. i was at a hella training course a few weeks ago and they sell them but said do not use them in any vehicle not designed for them.
  7. i think it will void your warranty and not just on that part of the car, it may also affect your emissions.
  8. it would be a fairly easy job but you will need to get it painted the right colour, try your local auto wrecker for the price.
  9. Is it new record or secondhand alternator? It sounds like the brushes in the alternator.
  10. I use e10 in my 99 4cylinder auto and always get around 10l per 100km on a highway run it gets down to 8.5.
  11. Talbit toggle the ignition on and off 3 times leaving it in with the reds on then hold down the button on the remote and it should work.
  12. i replaced mine for under $50 last year if your in sydney try peter warren, don't go to the service department go to spare parts and they will program it for free. take the car with you.
  13. I have never done that model but there should be marks on the pulleys that line up with marks on the block, get these lined up fit the belt. check your book the slack should all be on one side.
  14. they are only around $300 supplied and fitted any towbar place. if you get a secondhand one make sure you inspect it before purchase as it may have been in a crash and been damaged.
  15. The handbook only shows how to re sync the remote, if you got it from a toyota dealer they should do it for free. otherwise i think it is turn the key on and off 3 times leaving on then push the button on the remote, pretty sure but don't quote me.
