  1. So maybe the latest systems are fine, it's only a problem with recent units. In this case where do we stand if there is a known problem with the previous version where the device does not function as it is supposed to, there have been numerous reports of the same issue, and the newer version works fine? Are we entitled to get the unit updated to the version that functions as it is supposed to? Rock
  2. Yeah, tried that. It works for a day or so then back to fail again. Not consistent.
  3. I have the 2011 KXS and am having trouble with the bluetooth. The wife keeps complaining that her phone does not connect with the bluetooth kit. I've managed to get it working and it works for a week or so then goes back to saying 'connection failed'. Anyone else have this problem? Also, it seems that only 1 phone can be paired as as soon as you add another phone you get all sorts of problems. Rock
  4. Well, I ordered the headrest replacements. 3 days from Hong Kong, can't complain about that! Now I just need to know how to access the rear of the leather seats so I can get to the wiring coming down the metal poles. Anyone know if this is possible, and how I do it? Rock
  5. Hi, I have a set of old-school portable DVD players that I used to use on the old Magna which strap to the headrest using nylon straps. I now have leather headrests in the Kluger and am wanting to set up the DVD players for a trip. Anyone know whether the task of strapping on the players will ruin the leather? Also, I have been eyeing off these built in players (http://www.onfair.com/eonon-c1007-car-headrest-dvd-player-black-cover/) , but don't know much about installing into a MY2011 KX-S. Anyone done this and have any tips? They look pretty simple in the install video, but I'd prefer advice based on my model, not generic maybes. Rock
  6. My recommendation is try again next week. The last weekend of the month is when the deals are done as the dealers try and get their quotas up so they get their bonuses/incentives etc from Toyota. You can usually get a couple of thousand off this way. This is why you usually see the balloons and jumping castles etc on the last weekend to try and get people in who are passing by. Hope this helps, Rock
  7. Hi all, Funny thing happened the other night while driving home from the Blue Mountains. It was freezing so I had the heat settings set to feet. For some reason there was a loud fan noise coming from the rear roof vents, even though I had turned the fan down to min! Weird. Anyone else think this is strange? Rock

    mudflaps

AFAIK the ones I got were for my facelift model. Fairly easy to replace (thanks Dad), plus I was advised to replace the supplied rear with the ones that came in the 4 pack of new ones. Hardest part was trying to work out why there were so many screws. After we worked out the first one the rest took about 5 mins each.

    Number Plates

No, I meant KLU-63R. Woops, we were both wrong. Either way, I'm too late.

    Number Plates

While I was sitting around contemplating the month long wait for my KX-S I started thinking about License Plates as the dealer offered free Premium Plates in the purchase deal. I looked on the RTA website and saw that the premium plates were in the format of Alhpa/Alpha/Alpha-Num/Num/Alpha. I started thinking of cool variants, and even thought about paying the difference for a custom plate. Suddenly I had a brainwave and jumped on the site to see if a personalised version was available. Can you believe someone in NSW already has KLU-6ER. Touche, whoever you are. Rock
  11. I got all that, plus roof racks, Luggage Pod, and bonnett and light protectors for $56K. In addition I got a full tank of fuel and an extra 3 years warranty. You should be able to get a better deal than this at present because of this so-called 'fleet discount' promo they have ruuning.

    Kluger KX-S

I was thinking of getting the Alpine DVD player later on down the track after seeing one installed in the Kluger at the showroom. I opted against it as I was pretty sure that when the screen is down you lose your rear vision. I'll stick to the headrest mounted ones I think. Rock

    mudflaps

just going back through some old threads. I too was annoyed that my MY11 Kluger only comes with rear mud flaps. I invested in the Side Steps and found they got extremely dirty just in the first week because no front flaps. Would have been nice for the dealer to mention it. Anyway, I rang the dealer where I got the Kluger and he said it was going to cost me $150 for a set of 4. I said can't I get them cheaper because I didn't know I would need to have them? He said, nope no special deal for you. I checked on Ebay and a guy from Sydney City Toyota has them for around $75. While I was away on business this week I happened to look across from my hotel in Tamworth and saw Tamworth Toyota. I thought I'd go and mention the $75 set and see if I could bargain. Well, I went in, mentioned what I wanted, and the guy said 'yep, no probs $55' even without me having to bargain! Sweet. He even showed me how they compared to the std ones and how easy they are to fit. So, big thumbs up to Tamworth Toyota (thumbs down to Hornsby Toyota.....for now). Rock
  14. I managed to get a KX-S MY11 AWD 7 seater with just about every access for $58K (only things missing are ski racks and satnav). Plus I got full tank fuel and extra 3 years warranty. Rock
