So I've installed a 'plug and play' HID kit on my Corolla and it keeps blowing my 15A fuses. (these HIDs don't connect to the battery) In the meantime, I have put in 20A fuses to power these HIDs. I was wondering if this would be okay over a longer term? My concern is whether or not increasing the ampage would damage the wiring and/or that white plastic headlight connector plug?

Because it can, but also because when I resell the thing (hopefully in a years time) it will be a great car for an "L" or "P" plater! - low k's too! I've also never had the time to learn to drive manual but it's something I want to achieve in 2012.

Just reviving this thread. I've got an automatic 2003 Accent with the following mods: - Sportivo Exhaust (with larger 2.5" tip welded on) - Apexi PowerFC Car's only done about 74,000kms to date. After reading this thread, I pulled out the battery to reset the ECU and when I tested the fuel consumption, I was able to get approx 400kms on a full tank before the fuel indicator would turn on. (Using normal unleaded 91) My trips are very short, with lots of starts and stops. The majority of my trips are between 5-15min drives. Is that about right or should it be able to pull better figures?

The kit is simple to fit it just goes straight on with some screws and clips for the side skirts. Might want to secure it a bit more with double sided tape for parts of it too. If you don't want to get it through Toyota and you don't want fiberglass kits, the only way is to get it second hand. Eg these forums and eBay. If you have problems fitting the kit, pay someone to do it for you.

Thanks for the links jeffy. I probably forgot to mention that I'm after second hand ones to save a buck or two. There are some Injen and AEM ones on eBay but shipping just kills it for me.

I was wondering if anyone could help me in regards to getting a CAI for my 03 ascent. I have seen several on eBay US but I don't know whether or not they'd fit. I even asked the sellers and they don't know themselves as they only know American models. Can someone help guide me in the direction please? I know that CES do a CAI for the 1zz so I think that would fit my ascent.
