  1. Not wanting to start up the debate about fake bars etc etc.... But this is whats posted on the UR Australia website: http://www.ultraracingaustralia.com/page3.htm Probably a reason they're so cheap :P
  2. What you're probably experiencing is something similar to this: When driving in S, and cornering or something, you're probably going to have a gear selected that will give you fairly high revs, so that you can accelerate out of the corners. This gives the sense of "stiffening" up the suspension and generally allows you to push the car a bit harder. This is opposed to driving in D where the gear the car has selected is generally too low, you get barely any revs to accelerate out of the corner and the car feels sluggish, not to mention you feel the effects of body roll a bit more. I know when I was doing the driving course for work, we were taught to drive the cars (commodores in the sequential shift mode, keep the revs above 3000, and accelerate out of the corners. By keeping the revs high and accelerating out of the corners, the cars responded so much better and drove a heck of alot better. If we drove them in D, we'd generally be braking around a corner and the cars just felt crap. Anyway, hopefully this makes sense....but that's my 2 cents anyway. :D
  3. Beautiful car mate! Great minds think alike! B)
  4. Just thinking out loud here.....but is there another green light that activates with the AC, and some of that green light perhaps "seeps out" through the AC button, making it appear as though it's lighting up green when in reality its not....?
  5. Pretty straight forward question - how do you clean your foam applicator pads? I've heard putting them in the washing machine can deteriorate the foam. I've seen others that just rub out the product with a microfibre cloth. Any tips/tricks? Thanks! :D
  6. when apple brought out ios 4.2.1 in dec 2010 the audio units stick and say loading. so F-10 had to release another software update to combat this. That's exactly what mine is doing. Software is 866-500. Can this update just be applied by my Toyota dealer? Thanks heaps for your help Tim!! At least I have a fix to the problem now! :D And your towbar looks a heck of a lot better than the one they were going to fit...might have to have a bit of a look in to that! Thanks again.
  7. Well after being screwed around by BankWest (they had to send the loan documents out three times because they kept making mistakes on them ) I was finally able to pick up the new beast today! I am in luuurrrvvvv!!!!! I'm yet to take her out for a proper spin, but so far it's been fantastic!!! Was a little disappointed to find out my ipod touch wasn't compatible when plugged in via the USB (after a quick search on this forum I soon realised it wasn't me just going bonkers, and there were issues with it). So i've transferred all my music on to my phone (HTC Desire) and that works fine when connected via USB. I basically have no use for my ipod now lol! Another thing I didn't pick up on before is that the rear wheel arches are lined with the boot liner material. Seems a little odd considering how dirty things will get under the wheel arches. I was thinking it might be for noise reasons yet it doesn't have it on the front arches....anyone able to shed some light on this? But as I said...loving everything so far! Anyways, I'll go back to tinkering and discovering what she can do! :D
  8. One guy puts out a FAKE post above and all of a sudden it is now... "Yours is Fake - Mine is Genuine", Can't blame me for double checking before spending hundreds of dollars on something that could potentially be crap.... Anyways, found this on the UR website...you can input the serial number from the product to verify whether it's genuine etc. They've also got some photos on the website outlining what the genuine products look like and what the imitation products look like. :D
  9. I'm looking at buying both front and rear bars very soon....just wanting to confirm that the ones you got are genuine? I've heard there's a few cheap and nasty ones getting around on ebay, that's all. Thanks!
  10. Maybe you could buy a cheap-ish frame and just get them to put polarised prescription lenses in? Might work out a bit cheaper then buying the frame+lenses all from the optometrist.
  11. Exact same thing happened with our work car today (Commodore). Eventually got it to open after 5 minutes of walking around the car constantly pressing the unlock button. Got the car back to work and didn't have any dramas what so ever afterwards. As Hiro said, you could have been receiving interference or similar....this is what one of the blokes at work said was probably the cause as well.
  12. Got a call from the dealer today....they've managed to source a car. Once they've added a few things here and there it hopefully should be ready for collection on Friday. Anyways, I couldn't resist. I went straight down to the dealer to have a look and OMFG, this thing is the sexiest thing with four wheels I've ever seen. Should have brought the camera with me and posted a few photos....but anyways, bring on Friday!!!
  13. The grill looks great Steve!! +1 for the black headlights, they look awesome!!! :D
  14. So apart from the obvious gains in cornering and handling....how has it affected the day to day ride/feel of the car? Do you notice bumps alot more? Have to take it a bit slower over speed humps etc etc? Front and rear struts will probably be the first mod to my Aurion when it arrives, but as it will be my day to day car I was just interested in the general effects.
  15. Sorry to drag up an old thread...I've got nothing to do so was trawling through the forums. Grumble, how are the repairs coming along? Secondly, and I'm not having a dig at you Steve, but just wanted to provide a bit of an insight. In this instance, there would be no point in filing a Police report. There were no injuries, details were exchanged and parties are insured (even if parties weren't insured it still wouldn't meet the requirements for a report). Reporting the collision just to formally have your side of the story taken down to support an insurance claim is not what Police reports are about. If the matter was reported, Police would have to question the driver of the truck also. In a case where there are conflicting stories (and chances are there will be if the truck driver has already lied to his employer) and there are no independent witnesses, then Police will, most likely not be able to determine who was at fault. Not to mention the fact that we pay insurance companies hundreds, if not thousands of dollars a year and what do we get back from them? Nothing! Insurance companies employ accident investigators/assessors for this exact reason, they should be utilised in the first instance. Anyways, just some food for thought.... :D
  16. Would it be covered under warranty?
  17. VF-X unfortunately those links to that chinese website no longer exist. I've tried manually searching through that website but wasn't able to find anything. Bugger all stuff for an Aurion. Suprisingly, Google's chinese translater works quite well in trying to decipher that site.
  18. I'm with DJKOR on this. If you can get it fixed without it costing you anything, then why wouldn't you...? I'd personally go through insurance. You pay them a premium year in year out, and what do you get for it? Basically nothing. Now you have a chance to get something back from them... Plus, they take care of chasing up the cost of repairs through the other persons insurer. If you take the civil option, such as DJKOR mentioned above, you're leaving yourself very wide open. If they choose not to pay, the only way you'll get a cent out of them is if you take them to court! Not to mention that the repairs through your insurer may carry a life time guarantee. I certainly know which option I'd be taking. :D

    Rims

I reckon those rims would look nice...especially with some red brake callipers behind them!!
  20. Well everythings finally sorted! Can breathe a bit easier now :D Just back on the topic of those sunroofs again....I rang a couple of other local Toyota dealers and even they said that they're now fitted aftermarket. They said the only one that would come factory fitted is the Presara due to the sunroof being standard....but there's apparantly no longer an option for a factory fitted sunroof. Anyways, it's saved me an extra couple of $$$ so I'm happy anyway!
  21. Man....I really shoulda done a bit more research *face palm*...that towbar will look crap!! Looks like I might be heading back down to the dealer to scrap something else off the order...sigh! Thanks for the info re the sun roof guys. To say that I'm a bit ****** off in terms of the false info given by the sales man is a bit of an understatement. Disappointing as well, we've had previous experiences with this particular dealer and they've all been of an excellent nature.
  22. Bit of an update....I rang this Prestige Sunroofs. They advised me that they can only fit a particular type of sunroof to the Aurion due to the safety guidelines they have to maintain. Anyway, I had a look at this particular sunroof and it was going to look *****!!! Not to mention that because it's aftermarket, they only put a rubber seal around the edges, and if I wanted folded edges it would cost $1500 more because they need to respray the roof. The final point is that they didn't have any of these particular sunroofs in stock, and won't have until May. In short...went down to the dealer and took the sunroof option off! Saving myself $2000 and I think I'll be alot happier for it!!! Now just waiting on the car (still no word as to how long the wait will be though :( )
  23. Evening all, Well today I went and put a deposit on a 2011 Toyota Aurion ZR6 in Silver Ash. There's no word yet on how long it might be before I get one (I was told that if they had to make one it might be about a 6 week wait). I ordered the car with a sunroof. The salesman told me that the sun roofs are fitted as an after market feature and are done by a company called Prestige Sunroofs. I initially thought this to be a little odd as I would have thought that it would have been factory fitted. But then the salesman was telling me that even Ford and Holden use this particular company to do all their sunroofs.... Is anyone able to shed some light on this? I've had a bit of a look in to this particular company and it seems that they are quite a respected company and that I probably won't be able to tell the difference between factory fitted and aftermarket. Also, is anyone able to tell me if the towbar is of the detachable variety or fixed and whether the socket is housed internally or mounted externally? (Forgot to ask the dealer this, and given the time of this post I will hardly be calling them... :P ) One last thing...are mudflaps available on the ZR6? The salesperson couldn't find any mention of them on their accessory list and we just assumed that due to the side skirts and spoilers etc that they weren't available. From what I've read on this forum so far, it seems to be a wealth of knowledge and I'm certainly looking forward to reading and learning more! Thanks in advance! Matt
