  1. In my case it was front hub bearing. A couple of mechanics were unable to find the problem.
  2. I am sorry I am not helping... I am joining the club - I have AFS light flashing for a few months. Initially I suspected I busted the load sensor in the back of the vehicle after washing the oil spill from the bottom of the vehicle. But then I noticed my both lights are moving up and down at startup. But the left one does not move horizontally like it used to do. Toyota service was unable to find the problem. After two days they said there is a chance the problem is AFS ECU. So I should get one ($700 + labour) and see if it helps. But they sounded so unconfident... I decided to wait. Now the question is is there any troubleshooting process for AFS system?
  3. I have Aurion Presara 2008. The rubber cover on the boot release button (the one above the number plate) gone sticky. The button itself is fine. I tried to get the rubber cover from Toyota Part but they said they can only sell the whole switch (button) which is $100+. Does anybody know if rubber cover available separately? It looks like this Thank you.
  4. I wonder if there DRL fit Aurion 2008. Does anybody know if there is similar DRLs for 2008?
  5. I see. I though it's gonna display MP3 tags for USB... Hmm... Without the name it's not so funny. :) Thank you for the instructions. I will let you know the outcome. But.. As soon as I have time. :)
  6. Thank you, it helps a lot. When I asked GROM guys about recommended location fro the box they told it should be easily accessible in case you need to reboot it. That's why I though it might be a glove box. If it reboots when ignition on/off it shouldn't be a problem then. I believe Presara's unit is the same with yours. Thank you for listing all cables. The fact the box freezes when you use USB is ... disappointing. I believe USB requires the most CPU power. I have to do some research on these issues... But did you get impression you have to stop using USB in particular (not just any of three)... I though I would use USB + iPod combination. Just checked the manual... Confusing bit is Sounds like if I want to play music from iPod I have to disconnect USB stick. Probably should check it with support. Regarding the pulling the Sat Nav unit ... I saw Service Manual. And it's much more than air vent. :) That's why I was a bit surprised... From what I remember it's air vent on the top to reach two bolts... And at the bottom it's nearly everything around gear shifting knob. Which is a lot of plastic. :) I will ask here if I have any troubles. :) Thanks again.
  7. Wow. Awesome. Are you happy with the unit? Would you mind helping me a bit more please... I still don't understand which Toyota cable I need. And checking the back of the car radio is not easy. Do you have CD + Sat Nav unit like Presara got? Also it sounds like you removed only the vent. And it was enough... I though I have to remove (pull out) the whole unit which is much bigger job. But if it can be done via air vents it's great. Also where did you put the GROM box? The cable between GROM and Car Audio looks quite short. I checked today and I could not find a place for GROM box. Sorry for asking so many questions at once... Too excited...
  8. Wow, sounds promising. Thank you. I will try to research more. I didn't expect Presara's unit to have external CD changer socket. But it sounds like it should have it.
  9. Hi, Does anybody know if new Presara's navigation unit (current model, 2012-...) fit older model (2006-2012)? It's unlikely but what if ... I am trying to understand what options I have to connect iPod to original Presara's navigation unit. Thanks.
  10. I'm wondering if this whole pull left issue can be put down to a misunderstanding of what sort of alignments should be done. I had the pull left issue for a while, and had the alignment done every 10,000km since new, each time with noticeable improvement but not a total elimination of the issue. I did a bit of research and found that I've actually been getting the wrong kind of wheel alignment done. What I SHOULD have done (and insisted on regardless of what the tech or sales ppl said) is to carry out a FOUR wheel alignment each and everytime I send the car in for an alignment instead of the standard front wheel alignment these tyre places always try to sell you. The one time I did a four wheel alignment (and I insisted on getting a copy of the report), the pull left issue completely resolved itself. My Aurion now tracks straight as an arrow. It doesn't pull left at all now. Heck, I don't even need to apply any pressure on either side of the steering wheel at ALL on the road to keep it tracking straight. I'm just sayin, that it could well be that people haven't been doing the right alignments on their cars. You can have perfect front wheel alignment, but if your rear alignment is off, even just slightly, the car will tend to pull to one side. I figured these tyre places only do front wheel alignments because it's quicker and they can turnover customers faster (hence more profit through volume). Four wheel alignments are a ***** to do because of the extra effort. Cost wise it's not even double the cost of a front wheel alignment, so overall they actually make less money doing four wheel alignments. In my mind, this explains why they tend to shy away from four wheel alignments and always try to tell you that the fronts are always the culprits and the rears shouldn't be the problem. I think it might be a case of people assuming the rear wheels are always perfectly aligned. This isn't necessarily the case, and the alignment does go out (eg, you drive over the curb while turning a bit too sharply into a corner or parking space, etc). Just my 35c worth. BB I was doing four wheel alignment every time. 3 times, different places, same result. That's what makes me believe it's not enough.
  11. I am still looking for a place in Sydney to fix this issue. It looks like I have to fix it properly this time. In the last 2 years I did 3 wheel alignments. And I still have to replace front tires every year (I need to check my records but I doubt I can make 30k out of Michelin Primacy LC)
  12. Where did you get it from? Thanks.
  13. It would be nice to know... I work close to Silverwater NSW so it would be good to know they can fix the issue...
  14. That's what I was wondering too. It would be great to have 4 rear sensors.
  15. Hi guys, Can you recommend a Toyota Service centre in Sydney to fix the dash rattle? I am not sure if there is a such service centre who can fix it straight away though. :( I took my Aurion 2008 to Castle Hill Toyota this week. They "fixed" it. But I can't see any difference - the dash is still rattling on the drivers side. It looks like they just put some extra paper sticky tape around wires and tightened up screws. To be fair the rattle is not strong. And I can hear it when car is going over 70 km/h and the road is a bit rough. Still annoying. And I have a couple of clips felt out of the dash in the last couple of months. So I am a bit frustrated now and I am not sure if I should push them (Castle Hill Toyota) harder in order to do something. :( Or just try another service centre...
  16. I have this kit installed yesterday. I was charged $140 for the kit and $75 for the labor. They probably found the way to install it quicker than before. My ones are switching on any time I open the door. How do you switch between "auto light mode" and "door mode"?
  17. Hi guys, What life span do you expect from Michelin Primacy LC 215/55 R17 ? I bought used Aurion Presara with 65k odometer reading. Tyres were nearly worn out. I still wondering if it was a first set of if it was the second set. Anyway I have no idea what life span I can expect from these tyres. I fit new set (same tyres) half a year ago and did wheel alignment. I did about 15k since then. Today I was told front tyres need to be replaced. I know it's my fault I didn't check wearing. Seems to me wheel alignment was really bad. EDIT: I jsut check kms. In fact I did 15k.
  18. There is a seller who sells it for $300. No much difference though. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NEW-TOYOTA-GENUINE-SATELLITE-NAVIGATION-UPDATE-DISC-/270715261263 By the way do you know if Lexus one (PZQ86-00211) is the same?
  19. By the way I took a picture of Parking Sensor ECU on Aurion Presara. It's actually called "Clearance Sonar". Presara got part number "89340-33080". There is another number there as well - "188100-0681" Please check the picture attached (I used a mirror to take this shot :) ) Presara has only 4 sensors. I wonder what ECU is used when 6 sensors are installed.
  20. Good. Thanks for the confirmation. Sorry for the dirty hose. I will make a bit of makeup before the next photo session. :)
  21. By the way do these Parking Sensors ECU are the same for all models? Do you know if Presara's one can handle two additional rear sensors?
  22. I did a bit of homework. The VVT-i oil hose would be replaced regardless warranty status as a part of Customer Service Excercise. Probably my one is already a correct one as it's got a bit of yellow paint on the side (see a picture attached). I will find out about rattling dashboard soon.
  23. Hi Guys, I bought Aurion Presara 2008 about half a year ago. I have a couple of months warranty left. I do have rattling dashboard (with a couple of clips found of the floor since I bought the car) but I wasn't sure if it can be fixed under warranty. Do you know if 2008 Aurion require VVT-i oil hose to be replaced as well? I have't seen any recal stickers that's why I am asking... It's about time to do a service. Should I ask Toyota Service to fix these two things as well under warranty.
