  1. Hi All, Using Iphone's free apps "Pocket Dyno", the best time achieved from my stock Stivo (with K&N Panel filter) is 6.85sec for 0 to 100kmh. The factory claimed is 8.5sec, how can this be right? What is your best 0 to 100kmh? cheers.
  2. If my car came with a 1 button remote, I could do it for $60 as well as I had a spare 1 button remote. Unfortunately my sportivo came with 2 buttons...., couldnt be programmed into 1 button as mentioned earlier in this post.
  3. Sorry guys I searched before "Q) I want to know what the '5Y' or '92' mean at the end of the description of my car (for Facelifts only)" "A) The true facelift came out mid-way through 2005 (August). The 5Y refers to the later models, while the 92 was earlier 2005 model." I understood the facelift between 03 and 05, and also the 92 and 5Y. But I am still unclear why did Toyota categorised 92 and 5Y for the 2005 model, as there are no differences in features. Thanks
  4. to converter: Did your car came with 1 or 2 button remote?
  5. Thanks... What about other features? Built date?
  6. Update:- Went to a local dealer (ready but reluctantly to pay $450) for a new remote and key. Luckily one of the service staff was very helpful, he found a used remote from their lost and found box. As it was a used remote, he only charged me $60 for the programming. Luckily I have a spare shell, and got the key cut for $40. So total cost is $100 Yeah!!! What a Feeling!!! Needless to say I bought him some good beers!!!
  7. Hi Ya, For my 05 Sportivo, I have 1 set of Master Key with a 2 button remote. On my previous car, which is a 05 Corolla Ascent, I have a spare 1 button remote. Can the 2 button remote be programmed into a used 1 button remote? cheers, Bernie
  8. Hi All, It is illegal but I know speedo cable could be unplugged from older car preventing odomoter from clocking up mileage while driving. Do Sportivo uses speedo cable, or computer reading for the Speedometer. I saw a low mileage Sportivo, but Im not certain whether the speedo cable had been unplugged before? Again, no previous service history :( cheers, Bernie
  9. Im in Perth :( Not many 05 Stivo in the market at the moment.
  10. Cypher & EvilTwin, I noticed the last time it was 'officially' serviced at 20000kms, now it has 62000kms, wouldnt the engine pretty much gone case by now? Perhaps sludge in engine resulting low oil pressure, hence lift performance was subtle? Then again, a mechanic & I tested the engine (by feeling, not compression test etc) both find the engine solid, revs pretty smoothly. Weather was about 31 or 32C. I know the car was running on ron 95. EvilTwin- You r right, this car is defnitely been neglected, faded both VVTi-L decals, disintegrate "Sportivo" label, all 4 bodykits are pretty lose, no tear on leatherseats but some parts were dried out, paintwork still ok. Seller is a Toyota Dealer from country, the car was a fleet car (from Melbourne), No previous owner records, it has log book but servicing records never been stamped ever. I noticed the next service reminder sticker on windscreen (next oil service: 30000kms, 30/3/2008). The Toyota Dealer willing to change all fluids at their expense(engine oil, gear oil, brake fluid, power steering, clutch oil and coolant, brake pads if needs to). Deal is so tempting at $14K if he is willing to tighten the 4 bodykits as well. cheers, Bjaws
  11. Hi All, Im new to the forum, currently in the market for a 2005 Stivo. I tested two 2005 Stivos and felt the lift performance varied. I made sure the engines had at least 5-7 mins of warm up before lift testing. The 1st Car (127000kms on odo)- the lift kicked around 6000rpm. I felt the "lift". The 2nd Car (62000kms on odo, but has no service records) - lift kicked in at 6200rpm, the sudden "lift" power performance was more subtle compared to the 1st car tested. Although the engine sounded healthy and tight, clutch was light, gearbox shifting was sweet. Im concern the lift performance of this car. Can it be because of using fuel ron 95 vs 98? Hotter day (30c)? if not, does this mean the 'lift' is dying? Thanks in advance.
