  1. I searched to see if this has been mentioned before, but couldn't find anything, which surprises me. My auto highbeam on 2016 Cruiser turns itself off after dipping, then back on again when it sees fit! Happens intermittently, dealer can't fix it. Anyone have any clues?
  2. Anyone have one or know where I can get one?
  3. Most days the Audio System cannot see the USB stick. Once you have managed to convince it that it's there, by wriggling the stick then it's OK. Next time it's turned on, the Audio will be Off! Any ideas - could be a dry joint in the back of the socket?
  4. Forget E10 - it's false economy. Put 36psi in your tyres and it will handle better and help the economy as well as making them last longer!
  5. Does anyone know where I can download these? They were here: http://www.etimago.com/yaris/repairmanual/ but they seem to have gone.
  6. The microphone for the Sat Nav is in the overhead console just in front of the 'DOOR' in the interior light switch. Since it was not originally fitted with the Sat Nav, it probably is not fitted with a microphone. ATX and others have the Mic in the radio. You need to take the car to an expert!
  7. There is usually a separate manual for the Sat Nav. Try looking for a Disp button. My Aurion has Contrast & Brightness adjustments for the display. Contact Fujitsu Ten if all else fails - they are pretty good at responding.
  8. they do work i use to work for autobarn in nsw and we had the sales reps come in that use to sell them and they sold plastic ones and the metal ones he even admitted that the plastic ones are piles of **** and don't work but for some reason the metal ones do and they do have the electric ones but they are very expensive but they send out a very annoying clicking sound that for animals is even more annoying but i rather hear that then hitting a 6 foot red roo that will end up on your front seat kicking the **** out of u if its still alive lol Take a big breath...
  9. You raise quite an interesting point and one that I hadn't thought of earlier. Anyway, I stopped at the air hose during my fill up today and my front tyres were registering 30 odd PSI and the rears were around 28. So I increased these to 38 and 34 respectively and I can report a difference in handling. At the moment I can't comment as to whether it's an improvement or how drastic that improvement is, but all signs are pointing to a noticeable improvement. I think I might run with this for a week or so and see how it feels and then maybe drop/raise each of the pressures to 36 all round, then see how that affects everything. As a reference, prior to the tyre pressure change, handling was never an issue and if I had to rate it, it's be a 6-7 / 10. The rating should probably be higher, but I thought I'd leave some room for further assessment/comparison. I have 35 all round in the ZR and that seems to be a good compromise. Good handling and no bruised bum.
  10. ZR6 - power pass seat, heated exterior mirrors, auto dipping exterior mirrors (can be switched off!), rain sensing wipers, rear sun blind, sunroof, sat nav + 8 speakers & amp under drivers seat, leather, keyless entry & start. The list goes on... wouldn't be without my keyless entry - no fumbling in the supermarket carpark... upgrade model, of course. Forgot the clearance sonars, auto dipping interior mirror & drivers seat memory. Need I say more?
  11. Even if you had a 2011 Presara, you still wouldn't get streaming audio, but you would get an Aux input. My ZR doesn't have streaming audio, but it does have the Aux input (not that I use it! 170 mp3 tracks on each of 4 CDs is enough.
  12. I've seen 7.0 on mine using good old 91 octane - driving from Bairnsdale to Sydney via Canberra, but similarly to above it disappeared pretty quickly once in Sydney!
  13. Sorry, I misunderstood, thinking it had stopped raining. Is it only the very first wipe that you have the issue with (like I occasionally get), or does it continue for the whole drive? If it continues, report to your dealer. The delay in wiping I get after being parked in the rain is due to the film of water absorbing the light rain drops so the sensor doesn't detect the rain as well as it does after the first wipe (the sensor is under the swept area of the wiper blades), after which all is well. On a side note, I have never seen the difference when using the +/- sensitivity adjustment for auto. I had the feeling it was something to do with refraction and the water film being like 'normal' glass. Maybe I expect too much of my technology!
  14. The way I read that is that it must be raining to perform this operation. Was it raining at the time you got into the car? Yes.
  15. There's your issue ... the sensor doesn't pick up static water, it activates based on water impacting the windscreen. I get the same thing parked at work on a wet day, but once I get going it isn't a problem. I quote from the Aurion handbook: 'As soon as the vehicle starts to move, the wiper will operate once to clear the driver's front view if it is set to AUTO when it rains.' And it doesn't do it. That is what this post is all about.
  16. Thanks for that - I will have look in the daylight tomorrow. as I can't see anything from the front, chances are the tape is there. It just doesn't work as well as I think it should!
  17. Which part of the windscreen did you apply your "watering can" test on? If it ain't hititng the sensor, it ain't gonna auto-wipe. I find the rain sensor isn't much good if there's only light rain/drizzle. You'll still need to manually hit the switch to wipe the windscreen. Other times it'll keep wiping even though there's no more rain. It's almost as if I'm driving through a phantom shower. BTW, everything is as delivered from Factory. Original windscreen, etc. I think rain sensing wipers are only an aid, and should never replace driver intervention and discretion as to whether or not the windscreen needs to be cleared or not. Thanks DJKOR & Beep Beep (I think I would have watered the sensor...). Looks like one to leave to the dealer. I'm not going to fiddle with the sensor. It's actually hard to see through the windscreen where the sensor is mounted - can't tell if there is any tape or not.
  18. I have a 2011 ZR6 and the wipers are supposed to wipe the screen if it is wet once you turn the ignition on. Doesn't seem to work too well if I come out of the pub on a Friday night and it's been raining. I usually get fed up after 500metres or so and give them a help by washing the screen. Adjusting the sensitivity doesn't seem to help and there is no mention of rain sensing wipers in the 'WW' pdf! I'm just curious, as I will mention it when it goes in for the 15k service next month. They seem to work normally depending on rain pattern. I gave them my 'watering can' test and they failed! Apart from a new sensor, any ideas?
  19. Bit more info here: The Age - US model.
  20. Now that is a real pity... Hopefully they have already picked up the changes that were made by TMCA last time. btw my ZR6 is white and I had to wait from October until the middle of Feb to get it. Maybe they were in the middle of a LHD run... lol that is strange? White is a very common Sportivo colour, did yours have the sunroof by any chance? And nah it isn't anything to do with LHD/RHD. the Toyota production system and the Altona plant is so advanced that a Thai spec left hand drive Camry could be built followed by a RHD Aust Spec Aurion Sportivo. Camry and Aurion in all their different specs are built on the same line at the same time. Yes, sunroof & sat nav... probably explains the delay.

  22. Wow, that's a bargain!.......... NOT. :P Whereis have V17 (Australia only) for $295 - http://www.whereisma...ls&deviceid=252 The Denso one that's in my car is V17_R6 which includes NZ. If you aren't taking your car to NZ...
  23. When I get a call from a phone that does not want me to know their number, the unit dispays 'Not supported', when the what it really means is 'WTF are you telling me?'. Why can't it display 'Private' like all mobiles & home phones? Is there any s/w update to fix this? Toyota don't seem to have any customer contact info for items like this on their website.
  24. Interesting... I bought a new ZR6 with Sat Nav, picked up on 12 Feb and it had V17 installed. A couple of months later I received an e-mail from Whereis (they do the maps etc) to say that the V17 was now available. I'm always sending them updates to the maps... I checked out the DVD in the car and it says that it's made in Japan (by Toyota)!
  25. I had a mate that sold conveyer belting - sort of dimpled rubber. Makes really good non slip boot lining, but i don't don't know where you would be able to buy it.
