mines #77 :) I dont' see many Sportivo Turbo's around and so I get all excited when I see another one :) does yours still have the factory air intake? That thing goes on for miles!!! Are you planning any mods? Have you got pics of the exterior hatch?? Have you done anything to the tail lights? Lesley :)
  3. LOL, yeah the subs are huge (12" JBL) I have them in only for sound-offs, the rest of the time I need my boot space!!! engine bay (but it's not really a good one) it shows the "before" I got the CAI this is after the CAI got put in, so much more room in there!! Lesley :)

  6. Hiya! I own a 2001 Sportivo Turbo (since January 06), and I love it, and although I have recently had the engine and the turbo replaced (under warranty), and parts for the car are horribly expensive, and some not available...I still love it Standard boost is 8psi and you wouldn't want to run much more through it, I don't think it would be able to handle it... my ECU has been re-mapped (which was effective but I'm not sure how long the old engine would have lasted with it that way) I had it brought back to stock when I had the engine replaced. Parts Cost: to replace the original clutch is $5000 from Toyota, so an aftermarket heavy duty was the way I went, the exhaust manifold gasket was $520 and the exhaust manifold itself was around $2300 from memory....the reason parts are so expensive is because there was only 110 of them made and 10 were crashed in mandatory crash testing... It has it's good points but interior components aren't going to be around much longer and although mine was somewhat of a lemon and I've had a mountain of bad luck, Toyota Extra Care Warranty is fantastic and have replaced everything that faulted (current repair bill is somewhere around $16,000 and has spent 235 days in service), A major mod that is at the top of my list is the air intake, it travels way too far around the engine bay.... The Turbo that it runs stock, is quite tiny and when boost hits (around 1800rpm) you get the take off, the boost, tons of torque steer and the wheels spin, it was a pretty aggressive car, but when the turbo was replaced with a bigger IHI turbo the spooling takes a bit longer so at about 3200 rpm it kicks in which gives you the normal take off and then the boost kicks in and you're cruising it eats up the road and almost everything on it :) but hey, I'm a leadfoot :) Depending on how you drive it, it can keep up and pass just about anything , but if I had to choose again now knowing what I know, I would probably go with an 03 Sportivo :) If I can be of any help, send me a PM :) Lesley
  7. hey, a while back I was looking for Seat covers for my MR2 and there was a guy on Ebay who was doing tight fit seat covers in a leather look. If you look closely, you'll see a pic on there of a Corolla Sportivo with covers, they look good. Here's the ebay site: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/LEATHER-SEAT-CELICA...1QQcmdZViewItem Lesley :)
  8. Hiya Guys and Gals! :D I'm new to the forums here. I thought I'd say hello and introduce myself. I'm Lesley, from Adelaide in South Australia and I have a 2001 AE112R Sportivo Turbo (limited edition number 77 of 110) - see my avitar!! I've had it since January 2006 and I'm LOVING it! The car has been lowered, has bigger rims, a whiteline sway bar, a Megavox head unit with Soundstream Amp and 6x9 Sounstream Tarantula's. I've not yet had it Dyno'd (haven't had the time) but I'm guessing it's got a little more oomphhh as when I took it to Toyota for my first service they said someone had been mucking around with the mapping of the ECU, (so yay for me!). I entered it in the 2006 Toyoshow in February and came 2nd in Show Class (which I wasn't expecting, but I was delighted to come 2nd!). I'm a member of the Rolla Club and I also have an interest in MR2's. Lesley :)
