  1. If you have the tools I would then check that the injectors are squirting diesel Remove one and its associated pipework then reconnect up with it not in the head ie loose in the engine compartment ( I dont know if you have enough room to do this ) Wrap a few of those ziploc lunch bags around it to stop any fuel from spraying around the engine compartment and crank the engine and check that fuel ends up in the bag
  2. Diesel motor only needs two things to start, fuel and compression, although when cold glow plugs will help with the combustion process. Is the injector pump timing 100% correct
  3. Hi, would a 2003 ( pre facelift ) brochure do?

Ah, OK that would explain it.

I was interested in the radio, Is it still available?

I have taken the radio off for sale for the time being as I am back using my car. It will most likely be back up in a few months. But at this stage, it is not for sale.

  5. Might be worth disconnecting then reconnecting the battery so the car's ECU resets itself and relearns your driving style.
  6. Hi Dmitri, if you listed the model # of your car someone might be able to help eg ACR53 this will be on the Toyota build plate Cheers
  7. Hi, I think ther radio Kiloxray has might be a US radio. All the Aus radio PINs I have run across ( only 5 mind you ) have only been 3 digits
  8. You are up for about $ 300 - 400 for the bearings and seals ( parts only ) if you want to replace all of them. If you are lucky it may just be the diff bearings (90366-40094 & 90366-40097) (Superceded part numbers BTW) which will cost you about $120 and a 2 month wait from Toyota Aus or about 1/2 price from the US/ Japan however your main cost will be labour - getting the box out of the car, repairing it then putting it back in. If the box is original probably worthwhile replacing the clutch whille the box is out.
  9. Hi, the control unit for remote locking ( with teardrop fob ) is located in either the pasenger or driver kick panel or close to it. From memory I think it was in the drivers side one. It is a black box about 100 x 100 x 30 mm I have instructions at home and will try and find them.
  10. Check if your Corolla has a speedo cable or electronic speedo. I think yours should be electronic, but this will affect the type of kit you get as most kits just tap into the speed signal. Most after-market kits will also require an extra stalk which can look quite ugly. If you want an idea about bits I have an aftermarket kit which I could post pictures of, or you could look at.
  11. or could I change the body of the 4runner onto the chassis of the hi lux Had a mate who did this on an YN65 model. Body did fit but he had to relocate several of the body/chassis mounting points
  12. I would hazard a guess that the problem is with the actuator. If one of the inputs ( wheel rotation signal ) was missing or bad you would get the ABS MIL lighting up. Would probably say a sticking valve for the wheel that locked up. Don't think you can test this yourself as you might need the Toyota diagnostic tool to tell the ABS to go into test mode.
  13. If it looks like a SCART port it is probably the DLC ( Diagnostic Link Connector ) ( White connector ) This is needed to diagnose engine/ECU problems but should be mounted up near the hood release. Is yours loose?
  14. It WAS an option, but by that if you wanted it you got a completely different car, the dealer did not fit it. It is not like air-co where it can just be added to the car.
  15. Yeah thats what i was thinking too, i got a GPS unit doing the speed for me but thats pretty dodgy...:0 so i gotta make the time to put the abs in...fun times ahead i think...... Hi, I checked it and yep that would be the reason. The 2ZZ rollas get their speed from the ABS unit while the 1ZZ rollas get it either from a speed sensor on the gearbox if they don't have ABS or the ABS unit. The speed sensor has three wires going to it. You may be able to get it from your 1ZZ and mount this on the 2ZZ gearbox, but there may be no place to put it. Some Celicas running the 2ZZ did not have ABS so this may be another option to explore. You may have to wire up the ABS with at least two sensors ( probably the rears ), power and then get a speed signal out of it. It will be in an error condition but should still supply speed.
  16. Some Toyotas get the speed signal from the ABS unit ( At least in the States they do ) This could be a reason for the speedo not working.
  17. Hi, does anyone know what program is used to create wiring diagrams? Thanks
  18. I would hazard a guess that in using the incorrect wire you might have damaged a part of the integration relay that deals with the light delay functionality.
  19. The bit that the arrow points at is a coin holder, the blanking plate is to the left of it. From what I know you should be able to get one from any late model Toyota and it should fit as the hole dimensions are the same across most Toyotas. As Xoom said try some wreckers.
  20. One other question which is rather important is, do you have a throttle cable or drive by wire? If you have drive by wire you can't fit a cable type cruise control.
  21. part numbers for genuine? Cheers I will list what the parts came from. Cruise control ECU from 2ZZ Celica make sure you get the connector as well. One from a Camry may also work as the cruise actuators are all very similar despite having different part numbers. Cruise control actuator from a 4cyl Camry, you need this as this has a longer throttle body cable than the V6 one or vice versa Actuator mounting bracket from a V6 Camry Cruise Switch from a Prado ( This is because I have a 3 spoke steering wheel, if you have a 4 spoke you will require a different switch ) Spiral cable ( also called a Clock Spring) from a JDM Corolla although one from the current Corolla may work depending on the connectors. ( You can't use the existing one as although there are two connectors, on mine the two connectors shared the same wire which is also used for the horn, so every time you turn the cruise on your horn will briefly sound ) Clutch switch used the one from the Celica Brake switch ( 2 pole cruise type ) again from a Celica but any cruise type will do. Then about a weekend making the cabling and mounts and installing it. Alternatively the US models came out with cruise and it now may be worthwhile getting the bits from a wrecker over there. The models to look at are the Matrix and the XRS and possibly the Pontiac Vibe ( rebadged )
  22. There *IS* a genuine kit, you just have to make it. Other than that most kits leave you with a fairly ugly extra stalk that they normally stick behind the wiper switch on the steering column. Installed price would be around $700
  23. And what I would like to know is why some d*h* bureaucrat says I have to fit tyres that have a minimum speed rating equal to or exceeding the original fitment tyres ( 210 kph ) and then that same agency limits me to a top legal speed of 110 kph. Why can't I fit tyres with a speed rating of 160kph as I am not likely to exceed this speed. For the record I currently have the Toyo ProxesT1R in 195/55 which grip like no-one's business especially in the dry and will be changing to the Toyo Teo plus shortly.
