haha jeffy yeah its me man, i saw you in caroline springs about a week or 2 back aswell. did you take that pic today? should of beeped bro! haha

yeahh, took that pic on that day, probs wudnt have noticed me cos i took the covers off ahahha *hung over zzzzzzzzzzz*

anddd didnt know it was youu !! ahahah, though now i know xD !

  2. I changed the ecu to a manual one so that you don't get shift solenoid faults which will bring a check engine light and go into limp mode. However the loom must be slightly different too so that's why I still have that code.

Secondly although manual is fun and slightly faster. If you aren't going to mod it then i'd just stay auto unless your box is about to break. As I said I would rather spend that 5 k on something else eg suspension, wheels, tyres, or spend 5k tosards making boost.

Also selling your car + 5k will give you a manual v6 which would be heaps better and worlds apart performance wise.

    i see, thanks !

ill just wait for the gearbox to break *touch wood*

  3. Wow, welcome all. More camry owners than i first thought. If more jump on the bandwaggon, ill organise a camry only meet at the end of the year (gives everyone time to do what they wanna do to show it off!)

  5. Nope it is not worth it. It is always cheaper to sell your car and buy the manual version. This is coming from someone who has done it. It cost about 5k. The only time you would think about doing this is if your gearbox is about to die (mine was) and if there is significant amount of work done to it (mine has). So selling your car + 5k will give you a better car than swapping yours to manual. There are also less issues in the future too, my ecu will give me a "where is the auto gearbox" code but luckily this doesnt trigger the check engine light or the limp mode.

Also after seeing what the "mechanics" at the wreckers do and how they treat cars, I would never let them put a finger on my car.

i see, soo i'd have to change the ecu,

but the thing is, i dont intend to sell this camry ever,

its got sentimental value to my father. :3

if it didnt i wudve got a supra straight away. ahahahs xD

  6. i see, what are your opinions about a cold air intake, like a poddy or something,

If you are looking for power, don't bother. However, if you want engine intake noise a CAI/SRI isn't a bad idea.

    If you want performance:

    - Install a bigger rear sway bar

    - Install a front strut brace

    - Install some poly-steering rack bushes.

The combination of those three will give you better handling around corner with tighter and more responsive steering.

hrmmm., i thought so, peformance wise i cant do much, what does the plosteering rack bushes do ?

also, coilovers,... i hate my car rocking like a boat lol, coilovers or stiffer springs ?

  7. They certainly do.

UltraRacing make an excellent strut brace for the 36 series camry.

I have a proposal for you. I will pm you when i get home

can you tell me where to get em as well please ?

    i have an 03' camry 2.4L 4cyl Altise though
