  1. Hey guys, Im not sure if anybody is looking at this thread much anymore but ive decided to include my 2-cents here. ^_^ I have a 2005 Rav4 Cruiser with a 50L tank. My typical stats are: * 50L of unleaded 91 = 450- 515km per tank I do a large amount of city driving and live in an area that has many steep hills and climbs. The 2.4L engine is great, however the AWD system loves to chew your fuel. When doing country driving the car is very economical at 80-95km/h @ 2500 revs but not some much at 95-110km/h @ 3000revs! PS: Correct tyres pressures and a wheel alignment can save you alot of fuel money and increase the life of your tyres! Anyway there is always a price to pay when driving a constant AWD car, my friends 2007 Subaru Forester has virtually the same stats as myself. Cheers, Honey Badger
  2. To: JohnnyKun In response to your question my Rav4 has a small number of modifications but nothing overly extreme. Exterior Mods: - A 40mm suspension lift from using MONROE shocks and springs - A/T Bridgestone Dueler tyres - Front nudge bar with Narva spotlights and CB radio aerial - Rear bar with a tow hook for getting snatched out (have not used it yet luckily) - Roofracks To be honest and as 'buff hamster' said, A good set of tyres is the best purchase you can make as the factory tyres are fairly micky-mouse. Note* Also keeping your car as lightweight as possible will help alot! A lightweight Rav4 with deflated tyres is a speed machine on sand and dirt. Hope some of that information helps.   3. Hey all, I just wanted to post a quick note about my recent trip to Two Rocks WA, which is one hour north of Perth. It was an offroad weekender that involved steep dunes, tight inclines and beach driving. I am happily posting two thumbs up for the performance of my 2005 Rav4 Cruiser on this trip. The car had both rear seats removed and tires deflated to 19 PSI to make it a lightweight glider over any sand it encountered. The car managed to easily keep up with an 80 series Landcruiser and a jacked up Nissan Patrol ute to either lead the pack or closely follow. I will also upload some photos to show you what I mean. Anyway, I will post finer details about the tracks / performance of the car if anybody is interested. Anyway, Ill catch you guys later. Honey Badger
  4. Hey Guys I currently am looking at installing a K&N pod filter or similar to my 2005 Rav4. The factory air intake is ridiculously small and is tucked in the most un-efficient place to suck in cool air. Im not entirely sure where the air sensor lies, however I have a large amount of space inside my engine bay to support a pod filter. Any advise will be greatly appreciated, thanks!
