  1. Ya i saw this youtube clip. It looks easy for the column to come out from the dash. How was it for you Josh?
  2. Hi guys, i'm wondering if the gear knob surround should have some form of light? At night when i'm driving, i can't see the P, R, N, D at all. I just purchased the Aurion so i'm not sure if the bulb blew or it's meant to be dark? Thanks
  3. Barney: Thanks for your words of advice. I had the same thinking as you. In the end, i went with the $1,500 3 year warranty with Alliance. The warranty requires me to service the car according to logbooks at ANY mechanic, not the dodgy ones of course. The warranty includes almost every single part of the car, from the CD player to pistons and head gaskets in the engine. I hope i had a good deal.
  4. Quick update to this thread. Finally bought an 09 ATX with 80***kms on it. Still with the dealer and i am wondering if i should go for an extended 3 year warranty for $1,500.
  5. Nice ride there. Had an evo 9 about 2.5 years back. Looks like we are taking a totally different route in our lives. I came from an r33 gtr to an evo 9 to a vw r36 and now i'm looking at purchasing an Aurion and banking the leftover money. Evos are great cars, very responsive to mild mods. I know a few evooz members from QLD area (i assume you are from QLD?). There are a couple of nice tracks up there. This baby can definitely rip it up. Only bad thing about the evo is it's turning circle. Good luck making a U-turn on a narrow road :) I must say the 0-100 timings with 235 awkw probably won't be anywhere near 3.5secs though, definitely not with a stock turbo :). My evo 9 had 245 awkw (i had a FP Green turbo, full exhaust, 1.5 bar boost, cams, gruppe m intake, bigger injectors and Motec) and the best it did was 4.4secs. You must know that from 8 secs down to 6 secs is easy, from 5 secs to 4.9secs requires heaps of power. Couple of pictures of my evo :) http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/215/frontegx.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/42/frontdriver.jpg/ Now, back to my search for an Aurion :)
  6. Thanks for your feedback. So you are not going to try and fix the issue with your tiptronic? And 2 rims for $177??? So you got 2 new rims for just $177? I suppose they are just the ones with the "rim cap" and not those alloy wheels right?
  7. Yes i'm sorry, i haven't purchase my Aurion just yet :) Will be looking for one really soon once i sell off my VW.
  8. back onto the original topic folks. Is the 90,000kms service a major service? When are the major services for Aurions? 30, 60, 90, 120? What components need replacing during the major services?
  9. Hi everyone, I'm wondering if anyone encountered an unfortunate incident where your Aurion was stolen? I know insurance is a must but how reliable is the Aurion's security feature? I'm aware there is an inbuilt immobiliser do i have to install an alarm system on top of that?
  10. with this much KMs, its highly unlikely you will have any problems.. LOL Does this mean the higher the KMs the lesser the problems i will experience with the ca
  11. Thanks everyone for their great replies. Just wondering, the engine doesn't use a timing belt that requires changing at 100,000kms does it?
  12. Hi all, i am looking at buying a used Toyota Aurion. I have quite a tight budget at the moment and therefore i will be looking at something that will cost between $15k-$18k. Aurions in that price range will have about 70,000kms to 100,000kms. Just wondering how many of you have Aurions with really high mileage and not have any problems such as engine issues, jerky gear shifts, interior panels rattling. Thanks!
  13. Hi all! I just joined up this forums not long ago. I've been browsing through for the past few months as an unregistered member though. Currently, i own a black 2009 VW Passat R36. Unfortunately, i will be selling the VW for a used Toyota Aurion in the next few months. Need to free up some cash to enter the property market. I know this is the Toyota Forums, but do let me know if any of the Aurion owners want an 'upgrade' to the R36 :). Looking forward to meeting the rest of you in the future! Cheers, Ben
